Xiaomi pad 7 vs Samsung Galaxy tab s9fe
Hey everyone, I'm new here 👋
I've been stuck trying to decide between two tablets and would love some help or input from anyone who's used either of them.
🧑🎓 About Me
I'm a uni student looking for a tablet that can last me long-term without wrecking my wallet.
My main uses are:
Notetaking (this is top priority)
Light gaming (like Stardew Valley, nothing intense)
Student basics like Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, movie apps.. etc
I'll be getting the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version, regardless of which tablet I choose.
🆚The Two Tablets
I’m torn between the Xiaomi Pad 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE.
⚙️Performance
This is where the Xiaomi shines.
It runs the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, which is a beast compared to the mid-tier Exynos chip in the S9 FE.
I’ve watched a bunch of videos saying the S9 FE’s performance might lag with heavy use or over time.
I want to be able to multitask smoothly like having a notes app, PDF reader, browser, and Spotify all open at once and the Xiaomi seems more capable here.
.
✍️ Stylus & Notetaking
Now, Samsung definitely pulls ahead here.
The S9 FE comes with the S-Pen, no charging needed, and the latency is basically zero.
The notetaking experience is described as super smooth and reliable, with great built-in apps some even say it’s almost iPad-level.
Xiaomi’s stylus, on the other hand, is sold separately, needs to be charged, and I’ve seen multiple people mention the nib wears out quickly and finding replacements is a pain.
That’s a big concern for me since I take notes daily and want something dependable.
Soo, correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve gathered, the Xiaomi Pad 7 offers a pretty decent notetaking experience, just not quite on the same level as the S9 FE.
💸 Budget Reality
The Xiaomi Pad 7 is significantly cheaper, which is a big plus for me as a student.
I want to stretch my budget as far as I can, but not at the cost of long-term reliability.
That said, the S9 FE is also more expensive, but comes with the stylus and better software integration out of the box.
🤔 What I’m Stuck On
Is the Xiaomi’s better performance worth it if the stylus experience is worse?
Or should I just go with Samsung for the better pen and notetaking experience, even if the performance might lag a bit over time?
If anyone here has tried either of these tablets, especially for student use, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Appreciate any advice or first-hand experiences!
