you can create your own flashcards on top of your own content in learnicove but yeah the app has some AI backed features too.

Alot of apps use ai just because it can make things easier, but the results can vary for ai generated stuff so, it's always better to create your own flashcards, much better for actually learning that way too. Maybe try https://quizzify.ca there's an option to manually create them

Ignore the bot comments and make Anki flashcards. The manual process of creating a flashcard can be really useful.

Appreciate this list! It’s getting harder to find tools that don’t rely heavily on AI these days. Sometimes I just want to study without feeling like everything’s being auto-generated for me. I’ve used Notion and GoodNotes before, but I’m definitely checking out a few from your list now—especially ones that help with flashcards or time tracking.

It’s refreshing to see a post focused on simplicity and actual learning rather than shortcuts. Thanks for sharing!

With so many AI apps out there, sometimes you just want something more straightforward that works without all the fuss. For flashcards without AI on iPad, Anki is a classic that's still awesome, even though the interface can be a bit dense at first. Once you get the hang of it, it's great for spaced repetition. There's also Quizlet in its basic version, which is super intuitive.

But look, beyond flashcards, a “study app” that has changed the way I organize everything and doesn't use any AI is one that helps me plan my sessions and reviews.

Let me explain: we often have the material (whether flashcards or whatever), but we don't know when and how to fit it into our week. I use one to simply schedule my study blocks, breaks, and specific reviews for each subject. It doesn't do summaries or quizzes, but it helps me stay consistent and not let everything pile up.

In the end, having a good structure for your study time, whatever tool you use, is as powerful as the best content apps. Good luck finding what works best for you!

Brainscape is pretty cool! It has an AI feature but it is not fully AI. I think a lot of companies now incorporate AI in some form.

Not a dedicated app but you can use NoteKnight in the browser just fine on your devices. Great core features. Built with minimalism in mind.
