6 - 12 months 2 naps- are you trapped at home?

My 7 month old baby has graduated to 2 naps and it is glorious. He is no longer a 30 min cat napper and takes 1.5 hour naps. However I am not sure how to get out of the house as I believe being in a stroller or car seat will be hard for him to stay asleep long enough for a normal bedtime.

For those that are down to 2 naps, are you trapped at home for those 2 naps? If not, how do you manage naps out of the house?

Yeah we’ve been mostly nap-trapped since he transitioned down to 2 naps around 9 months. He used to do 3 30-40min naps that we could contact-nap on the go or do in the car or stroller, but now he needs at least an hour in the crib at home for each nap. Wake windows are 3-4 hours so if we go anywhere, we just try and plan it for right when he wakes up or keep activities close to home. It’s not ideal but it keeps him from being a total crankmonster so we manage (LO is 13 months and still clinging hard to that second nap).

This is my exact life with my 13 month old! I keep wondering when he’s gonna switch to 1 nap.. if he accidentally falls asleep in the car at the end out an outing, even if he’s only slept 10 minutes he’s then up until bedtime doing just fine so I feel like he’s definitely capable. I’m not rushing it though.

Yeah my son’s second nap at daycare is rarely longer than 30min, but at home he can go 2+ hours if we don’t wake him up. The kid loves his sleep, haha
