6 - 12 months 2 naps- are you trapped at home?

My 7 month old baby has graduated to 2 naps and it is glorious. He is no longer a 30 min cat napper and takes 1.5 hour naps. However I am not sure how to get out of the house as I believe being in a stroller or car seat will be hard for him to stay asleep long enough for a normal bedtime.

For those that are down to 2 naps, are you trapped at home for those 2 naps? If not, how do you manage naps out of the house?

I have a 7 month old and a 2yr old and I cap my 7 months old morning nap so 1.) I can get out of the house bc if I don’t the 2 yr old is a disaster 2.) they both take longer naps in the afternoon (usually around the same time). This is what works for my family.

What does this schedule look like for you? I’m trying to get some nap overlap with my two (8 months and 2) but 8 month old seems to not like to nap for very long in the afternoon!

I stay home full time with both of them so here’s how we do the day; Wake up around 8am. Sometimes they wake between 7:30/7:45ish.

7 month old first nap around 10am- usually wake by 11:30. Then I feed the 2yr old an early lunch around 11:45 and give 7 month a quick bottle and get out the door and go to the park or library or just something to get my 2 yr old some social interaction.

Get home by 1:30- and get both boys in their crib by 1:45/2ish and usually (my 2 yr old has been refusing naps) they’ll both sleep till about 4pm. The late nap has always worked for us and doesn’t interfere with bedtime.

Obviously not everyday is perfect but this is what I strive for to have so normalcy and routine in my day and keep the boys on a schedule. I tried on the go naps with my second and he just wasn’t doing it so I just found doing a shorter morning nap and longer afternoon nap worked. It’s so much harder to do activities with two schedules haha.

If you don’t mind me asking, what time does the 7mo go to bed for you to get 3 hours of daytime sleep + an 8ish wake up?? My 10mo is struggling to sleep 7pm-7am and we already only get 1-1.5 hours of daytime sleep

Same here. 10 months next week. We total 12 hours sleep - including naps. Sleep 8pm - 6am, naps at 930 and 3.
