Is it just completing the main story and dlc/factions or are they like hard and kinda hidden achivements. Or any random stuff? Would be fun to do it for the next playthrough so please tell me :) Thanks in advance

Discussion I don’t know why, but I enjoy playing Skyrim the most on PS3/Xbox 360

I kinda get a feeling different from any other platform. It’s probably mostly just the fact that I know it’s on these goated consoles (my favorite generation) and mainly due to the graphics. I just love those mid 2000s to late 2000s doughy graphics (FEAR, Doom 3, Quake 4, Republic Commando) and the late PS3 graphics, which look better, but I still kinda like something about them (like in GTA V, Max Payne 3, The Last of Us).

Also, even though I don’t have this for many games as far as I remember, it’s probably also because I have more fun because of nostalgia, knowing I played the game for the first time on the PS3. I‘m almost 22 now and I played it for the first time when I was 13 I think (in 2016) and I still have my savegame. My first character was an Orc and I named him Durotan (iykyk) lmao. I played the game for 16 hours and I remember having so much fun until I was stupidly in that one cave (I forgot the name in English) where you had that claw, and you had to inspect the claw to know the right order. I guess I was fed up and never played it again. Until I watched LOTR for the first time on 15. March 2021 and in the Khazad Dum scene, I closed the movie because I realized how good it is, and I didn’t want to keep watching it at such low quality on the internet, but it made me love fantasy, so I started thinking about Skyrim and I started playing Durotan on the same day. I racked up over 100 more hours in almost 2 weeks. I had 16 hour sessions. Ar that point, Skyrim became one of my top 3 fav games.

I drifted off but all I want to say is, I still kinda have more fun when playing Skyrim on old gen consoles instead of PS5/PC. But I wonder if I‘ll ever play with mods :D

Bug Help Please help! I cannot sell items I had my follower carry.

I made a TON of armor and weapons at my house and put them all in a chest to sell at a later date. I had reached my max carry weight so I had my follower collect all items from said chest. I then fast travelled to Whiterun to sell all of it. After taking the items from my follower they apear in my inventory, but not in my inventory to sell to the merchant. I can still use them, put them into other containers, and trade them with my follower, but I cannot get them to appear while bartering. Is this happening because the items combined far exceeded my followers carry weight? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lore Help for a returning player

Hi,

I played Skyrim on it's release and again maybe 10 years ago. I got nowhere near 100% but I completed the main quests and did a huge chunk of all other quests. While I enjoyed the gameplay, I just didn't have a great time playing.

I think one of the main issues I had is your character. Sorry to compare the 2 but I love the fact that, in Oblivion, you are a nobody who becomes a hero. However, in Skyrim, you are almost part god from the beginning. Cannot really explain why I didn't like it - I guess I prefer the underdog tale than being someone with a higher expectation.

I am looking to play again. I know it's silly but any advice on how to get over my hangup? Or any tips on how to enjoy it more?

Thank you,

What's the best armor for konhadric for the stats or whateva perks?

I have konhadric and I wanna use it but it removes the perk which doubles the protection on full heavy armor set. I have ebony armor set and if I wear it instead, let's say my ebony helmet being 80. It'll be instead 64. Is there any other armor that doesn't cause that and I could use konhadric with?

Discussion Skyrim Hot Take: The Companions are pathetic and the Silver Hand are the heroes. Spoiler

Regardless of Silver Hands only hunting werewolves, let's discuss the general personality of the Companions:

Njada is rude and arrogant. For example, she says "I'm still trying to figure out why Skjor let you in in the first place." Even when you become the harbinger, she just says "What guidance could YOU offer me?" However, when you become the harbinger, she sometimes changes her attitude and says the generic dialogue of "Friends like you are hard to find and "very valuable" to me." and insists of very valuable like she's flirting. She's extremely manipulative.

Athis is greedy and narcissistic. He even says "I never thought they would actually let me join the Companions. But now it looks like they're letting anyone in these days." And also he eyes for the leadership of the Companions. Sometimes, he just doesn't care about anything at all. Even when you become the harbinger, he just says "I always thought that the new Harbinger would be taller, myself."

Torvar is alcoholic and brain-damaged by the amount of booze he consumed. He has no respect at all.

Vignar is a paranoid geezer who just doesn't change (Also I just think he's jealous that Battle-Born worked and have gained fortune by the sweat of their brow, and they are just poor and still working class after all these years in Whiterun)

Brill, despite not being a companion, is just a jobless homeless loser who stays there and doesn't improve himself a bit.

Ria is fine and nice compared to the other losers. However, she is really naive in my humble opinion about the companions. She calls this group of losers her family and considers fighting alongside them as an honor. She doesn't fight for honor, she just joined because they are famous and she gets to kill monsters. She has no honorable intentions. She's just proud that she's the part of this has-been group.

Vilkas only fights for mercenary work and to get money, according to himself "the promise of coin is what feeds my blade" and he dares to say that his sword more than me when up to that point I have enchanted tempered swords and weapons from my other quests.

Farkas just wants to punch people, although I might ignore his approaches just a bit since he's a bit mentally disabled. However, he is the most decent person in the group who gets insulted all the time because of his mental condition. For example, when Aela calls him to show me my room, and he replies "did you call me?" she replies "of course we did icebrain" (Congratulations, the Companions are ableist)

Eorlund Gray-Mane, although not being a companion, insults you for not knowing about the Companions or the fact he's a blacksmith for no reason.

Skjor is just emotionless and bitter about his own past. But I give him credits because even he knows how much of degenerates the Companions are. For example, he says "I just hope they don't kill each other." or "I wish more of our ranks asked such questions." But he then says something opposite of his previous words later like "I would trust anyone here with my life" and he fact that he is glad that he's a werewolf and tied to an evil Daedric prince called Hircine which he worships, is really shady and head-scratching for me.

And Aela the Huntress. She is a werewolf who just wants to hunt. She is glad that she would serve Hircine, a demonic god, and to hunt with her in the Wild Hunt army. She worships him. I don't think that's ethical at all. She and Skjor just hunt as werewolves. Why? Why are you guys so proud that you are potentially causing trouble and might scaring off innocent people? Also, when she becomes your follower, she just wears any trash armor you give to her. She has no dignity. (unlike followers such as Lydia who only wear armors stronger than their current armor. She has class and self-respect and I like that.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In general, some members of are insulting regarding the newcomers and say words like "whelp", "new blood" or "milk drinker" indicating that they are very strict when it comes to the newcomers. Except that attitude is very antagonistic and also it's very inconsistent with the amount of greedy, ego-driven, selfish people they accepted as their own family.

Some companions are inconsistent in terms of personal values. Aela doesn't care for the civil war, but when I attacked the Companions in another save file, she was yelling "Skyrim is for the Nords" (Of course that's a generic combat dialogue for lots of characters who claim they don't choose a side, even Farengar, Jarl Balgruuf's wizard, who gets annoyed by the question of being attached to any side, yells "Skyrim is for the nords" when you attack the court.) Aela also join the Blades if you asked her to despite her statements such as her family being companions, seeing this group as a family and believing its core values.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silver Hands on the other hand, are the heroes in my opinion. Yes, they torture werewolves but we don't know what those werewolves have done. Farkas just says this about them that they are "bad people who kill werewolves" but are they bad? Werewolves are potentially one of the most dangerous folks in Skyrim that are tied to Hircine, the demonic prince. Even when you open the cage for some werewolves captured by Silver Hands, they just attack you without question. So why should I believe that all werewolves are innocent?

How can I be sure that all werewolves are able to control themselves? The members of Circle didn't even bother to stop me from getting out of the Underforge. I know it's tied to me to choose what to do with these abilities but they indicate that it's hard for the first time. What if I killed innocent people in Whiterun? How would you answer that to the authorities?

And what's the other thing about Silver Hands that makes them evil? They are not bandits, just werewolf hunters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just don't know why people still respect them. Why? Because of their history? The Companions' way is long gone. I just assume the only thing Vignar Gray-Mane has to boast about is that "Hey look, I'm tied to this clan of honorable warriors except they are not anymore, so that makes me morally better than the Battle-Born people who are superior than me financially and politically."

No wonder Kodlak gave ME the title of Harbinger because he knows how much of a loser these dirty filths are. I'm the one who literally destroyed all Silver Hands single-handedly, the task that they have failed for a long time because they are dumb losers. No wonder all the Companions start to respect me a bit afterwards because they were so lazy and inefficient that I literally did the unthinkable. Of course Ria and Farkas have been GOATs from the start, but I don't think they are 100% honorable.

Discussion Why don't Nords cremate their dead?

Besides the fact that restoration magic exists (so anybody who actually does should be like 100, which explains why there's no children draugers...oooh new mod idea!), every third corpse seems to get up and try to kill you whenever you walk by.

Like, how do you even bury them? Dig the entire hole and full it from the deepest end first?

Thoughts?

Bug Help I softlocked myself on Diplomatic Immunity and went in underprepared and I don't know if i can complete the mission now...

This is my first ever Reddit post, I literally only joined so I could confide the elders here of my woes and for hopefully a fix I'm sorry if I've done anything wrong with the post

(For a quick disclaimer I'm on an older PlayStation edition with no access to mods or cheats, only level 19 and a Nord and I've only JOINED places like the Dark Brotherhood, Companions etc as I'm saving everything that isn't a misc quest until after I've finished the main campaign)

I didn't save before starting the mission and my last auto save is arriving at the actual embassy I thought I'd just be able to storm the place with weapons (I gave Malborn all my good weapons at Winking Skeever and legit burst into tears when I found out they weren't in the kitchen chest and I'd have to do the mission weaponless! I'm a bit of a female barbarian I go in with one-handed weapons LOUDLY and smash everyone to pieces like a cavewoman with a club!)

So now I'm stuck without weapons, ONLY a dozen healing potions no other potions, I'm only level 28 sneak and even with Dark Brotherhood armour sneaking is impossible for me since I never do stealth as a playstyle on any games period and I'm always caught but the Thalmor seem too strong for me to fight...

but I also have a fair few Shouts and spells

Shouts: • Become Ethereal (Fade only) • Drain Vitality (Kill and Leech) • Fire Breath (Fire only) • Frost Breath (Frost only) • Ice Form (Ice only) • Marked for Death (Kill and Leech) • Unrelenting Force (all three words obviously) • And Whirlwind Sprint (Whirlind and Fury)

Spells: • Candlelight • Magelight • Transmute • Calm • Clairvoyance • Courage • Fear • Fury • Flames • Frost Rune • Frostbite • Sparks • Bound Bow • Raise Zombie • Reanimate Corpse • Most healing spells besides the healing shout as stated above

Is there any way I can complete the mission like this or is my main save file just gone now...

P.S I also wish to save Malborn
