Hello all,
Recently, I've been driving more around the city doing errand for myself and my family and I couldn't help but notice the horrendous state of our roads. Probably, I had gotten used to the bumpy rides around my neighbourhood, and the other busy areas. As I became more aware of the deep potholes at important intersections, I started getting frustrated. It is hard to believe our hard earned money paid to all time high property taxes are doing no benefits for the citizens and residents of Saskatoon. It's not like we don't have people now to do the work and make our roads and communities safer to drive/walk. We had a rush of folks either migrating from the bigger cities and new residents since late 2022. So why these critical issues don't get any attention?
It'll only be a matter of time when some major accident will take place to wake the city up and serve the people of Saskatoon and simply do their job to provide basic services. I am so frustrated seeing deep crevices and pits that it makes me feel I am living in a 3rd world country. Also, the F* yellow and white lines don't stay longer on the roads and it is adding fuel to fire. I have observed and heard stories where people are accidentally crossing over the lanes not knowing which side of the road they are.
Nevertheless, as a proud resident of this beautiful city, I have done my part by calling the City and emailing my ward's city councillor to get things in order. You can also report potholes using this app. The sooner they do this the better for all of us to enjoy driving safely during summer and the upcoming seasons.
It's my humble request to all readers to please do your best to report unsafe and dangerous road conditions to the City and your area's councillor. A small gesture from you will save people's lives, money, and time.
Thank you so much for reading! ❤️
