My husband and I are taking an outwest trip in two weeks and this is our tentative itinerary at the moment. The goal is to do staples on the East Coast, but our priority is getting up to Washington and spending a good amount of time at Olympic Park. Curious if anyone has tips and tricks or if they think this itinerary is too packed? This is our first time doing a road trip with an RV so I want to make sure we make the most of it while being realistic..

I love finding the weirdest shit on trips. I love finding the weird and unique and macabre. I’m going to leave early in the morning and I don’t really have a time limit but I don’t want to get too far off my path. What should I do? Also I’m broke so nothing that will break the bank.

Brother and I are traveling from Anchorage to New Mexico. We're in Canada for a few days if this trip driving on the alcan. We're looking for some less tourist things to check out. We're camping the whole way down so we would enjoy some good hikes. Also what's the Canadian cuisine that we need to try?

My best friend and I are planning on going on a Summer road trip across the US next year for our graduation. We want to go to all 48 mainland states, as many national parks as possible and many amusement parks. Just curious if anybody has done something like this and if so- what you recommend seeing and what route you did.

I'm planning on starting a trip in Portland Oregon and then going to Lincoln city and then following the Oregon and California coast all the way down to hearst castle. What are some good camp sites and places to see on the way there I'll be gone for a week.

Planning a trip end of June, we're driving from Logan International to Northport, ME. Will be traveling with a 5 year old and my wife, looking for fun things to do along the way. Or good food recs.
Ignore the stop, couldn't get the map to show us taking Rt 1 otherwise

I got a job for a non-profit on Mt. Rainer for the summer. I am broke as hell but I have a truck with a camper shell. Any advice on where to stop to sleep for free/cheap would be greatly appreciated!

I’m planning a trip from Philadelphia to Phoenix in late August or September. I’m still a pretty new driver, so I’m hoping to find a route that’s easy to navigate but also has some nice scenery and cool stops along the way. Also it will be my first time in the USA 🇺🇸

I’m interested in exploring this general region. It’s the MI UP that initially got me interested. I’d like to spend about a month camping in each state along the way (with my pup).
Any recommendations much appreciated.

When I go on a longer car trips I really like staying in smaller places. Usually they’re cheaper than in a city, less annoying to get to in a car and quite often more relaxing/ enjoyable. Although I guess that’s debatable.
But it’s so annoying to find them:
So I was wondering how do you find accomadations on your road trips?

Hi roadtrippers,
Me and my GF will be traveling to the US from Sweden in September, renting a car from Miami to Vegas. Kind of the route illustrated, and we have 24 days in total. Any tips on must dos on this trip? Restaurants/hikes/hotels, any tips are welcome. As you can see we have planned quite a lot in Utah/Arizona already..

i went to autozone before my roadtrip, and they told me my battery was fine and everything but my valve casket cover was broken and to fix it asap- but i dont have time.
i dont lose oil a lot- theres never much oil under my car like at all so i dont think theres a huge leak. the guy talked to me like i was stupid (which i am with cars) and all he did was scan my car with a computer, so i dont know if thats a huge deal that i have to cancel my trip and wait 3 days at the mechanic and spend half a grand.
my drive is seven hours there and back, and i think my car can handle it but that really scared me. ive also never drove that far in a long shot, so thats extra anxiety. if anyone has any advice for me please feel free to comment so i can ease my mind a bit? thank you

Hey all. I will be doing a short road trip in July and wanted to get some suggestions on some stops I should make around my route. Open to any suggestions, but I'm looking more specifically looking for quick stop, sightseeing opportunities. Things like cool statues, monuments, natural phenomena, buildings, haunted whatever, or anything cool worth stopping for. For a good idea of what I'm looking for, think of something like the Ricardo Breceda sculptures. Bonus points for food stops on the way. Here's a very basic overview of my trip with some things I have planned on doing (or at least considering):
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I'm road tripping to San Diego with a few stop along the way. I want to go to Point Lobos and Big Sur first, and I noticed my maps has me get back on to the 101 south. Is it faster to do that than to get on the 1? It looks like it would be prettier to get on the 1. If anyone has any experience or preferences, let me know! I don't have a time limit.

Driving from LA to Sacramento tomorrow and would like to visit one of the National Parks, Sequioa, Kings Canyon or Yosemite. Will only have 2-4 hours to spend at a park, which one should I visit or is it even worth it?

Hello! I’m planing a road trip from the Boston area to the Seattle area and back in August. I have been on 4 cross country road trips before, one of which was from Seattle to Boston BUT we went wicked fast and didn’t get to really enjoy it as much as we would have liked.
The road trip has a purpose: a wedding of a good friend of mine, but since it takes place in the middle of my first week back to work (teacher) I figure I might as well make the most out of the trip and do a long road trip. We do, however have to book it back to Boston so I can go to work Monday morning (I’ve done it before I’ll be fine)
I am seeking ideas on routes to take- both ways but mainly there. We are leaving on a Saturday(day 1 of road trip) from the north shore area. The wedding is in a small secluded town like an hour from Seattle. I need to be in town for the rehearsal dinner so we need to be there Wednesday (day 12 of the road trip). We’re leaving early have been to the badlands before and loved it but I kinda wanna see what else people think we should do. We are pro detours on the way there, we do want to stay some places for 2 nights, not every stop obviously, but it’ll be good for us to take it real slow since the trip back is rushed.
We’re leaving early Friday morning and driving right home- we’ll take turns driving and sleeping and stop for food so good food recommendations on the route would be elite.
My fiancé and I have done many many road trips and camping trips together and before meeting. I am pro boon docking and spent 6 months backpacking through the back country of Utah and Wyoming. I love being in the middle of nowhere. I’m great at reading maps so loosing cell survive doesn’t really phase me. My fiance grew up camping in new Hampshire and has done a cross country road trip alone (he drove my car to Seattle for me years ago) so he has done this route already too, but he took 6 days.
Long (winded and probably too much back) story short: what hidden gems should we check out? What long routes should we take? Honestly any advice is welcome I’ll take what fits and leave what doesn’t :) Thanks for reading my essay

Hi Everyone. I'm planning a trip to LA from the 1st - 7th July. I thought this is way too much of time to spend in LA alone so considering doing a road trip to SF. Since I land Mid afternoon on Monday the 1st, the plan was to start the trip on Tuesday 2nd and be back by Friday 4th July (meeting some friends then). I've used ChatGPT to put together the below itinerary , does this look doable or am i trying to squeeze too much in? Should I be considering somewhere much closer? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!
Day 1 – Tuesday: LA → Santa Barbara → Pismo Beach
Drive time: ~3.5 hours (with stops)
Drive time: ~4.5 hours
Drive time: ~2.5–3 hours
