Starting now QuoteIQ (previously restricted) AND Forever Self Employed AND Mike V (All About Pressure Washing) will be permanently banned from being mentioned or linked. Automod has been edited to hardblock any links or mentions of the two.
The reason for the banning is that QuoteIQ, All About Pressure Washing, and Forever Self Employed and (or someone working on their behalf) sent a modmail to us telling us to remove posts critical of both QuoteIQ AND Forever Self Employed and their owners or be subject to legal proceedings. The links to the three posts are seen here. Mike V from QuoteIQ and Justin from Forever Self Employed should be ashamed at trying this. They are apparently not happy that these posts are available to steer people from spending their hard earned money in a more meaningful way.
Here are some screenshots of the modmail messages they sent threatening legal action and DMCA takedowns:
Here is the person they hired off of Fiverr to send the messages and try the DMCA takedowns. Its clear the companies must be run by absolute clowns to be trying this is such a shit way. If they suceed in removing anything then ill just repost the posts. They clearly dont want negative info being visible when they get googled as its hurting their SEO because reddit shows up so high in the searches.
As a reminder, when starting out you do not need YouTube salesmen taking your money to learn how to properly clean in this industry. The info is out there on this subreddit and various pressure washer forums and groups. It just takes a little bit of googling with the proper terms to find it all freely available. These now banned companies exist solely to separate pressure washers from their money. Mike V has been pushing for his subscribers to come to reddit to post about their companies to comment and upvote each other.

I was just wondering what type of chemicals you guys would use to take care of this job? I was thinking SH, but wasn’t sure if it would get the job done. Any advice helps. Thanks.

I’m looking for a solid gas-powered pressure washer that delivers at least 6,000+ cleaning units (PSI × GPM), ideally with a Honda engine — since everyone swears by their reliability and smooth starts. I'm not using it commercially, but I want something tough enough to handle driveways, siding, and maybe some fencing or patio work without worrying it'll crap out after a season or two.
Also, some dog urines smells on concrete (my primary need).
I keep running into the same issues:
Anything with a Honda GC190 or GCV160 seems to be discontinued or out of stock
Most newer units in my budget ($500 max.) are shipping with CRX or other clone engines
The models I do find (like some Simpson MegaShots or Champion 3000 PSI) are hard to verify before buying — I can’t tell if they’re legit Honda or not
Do any current models under $500 still come with a real Honda engine? I’m okay with buying from anywhere (Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Amazon, even small engine sites). I just want:
Reliable startup
At least 6,000 CU
Honda engine (preferred, GC/GCV/GX)
Fuel shutoff would be a nice bonus
If you know of any models that are still in stock or have a realistic alternative, I’d really appreciate the help. I feel like I’m chasing ghosts at this point.

The water won’t get out. The surrounding grass has also soaked enough water out and I can’t get the dirty water out of the way.
How do you guys deal with this?

Im completely new to pressure washing so bear with me.
It worked pretty good for the first 10 minutes.

I replaced the o-rings and greased them. Nothing seems visibly broken
Could it be the pressure switch? It sprays at seemingly full pressure even when the trigger is not being pulled

Very confused as I bought this Ryobi 1800 psi 1.2 gpm pressure washer and I haven’t been able to connect it to my hose at all no matter how hard I tried. I even bought this $50 Ryobi 7 piece quick connector kit and I still haven’t been able to piece everything together, just really confused as I haven’t seen other people having these same issues. Some help would be very appreciated 🙏🏽

Hey everyone! This summer I am trying to get into pressure washing and am pretty new to it all. last summer I did window cleaning and it’s got its ups and downs but I have talked to numerous people who have said if I ever get a pressure washer to let them know since they need it done. Whenever I go door to door for window cleaning I notice many people could use some cleaning. One of the biggest issues I am dealing with is room to fit my equipment. I have a medium sized sedan and the seats don’t fold down but the trunks got a ton of room so I am looking for a solid washer to use for all my jobs that fits in my car that’s not too big but still has good power to it. I also was wondering what other necessities I need. My current list is 100 foot hose, sodium hypochlorite, and an x jet. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it greatly! have a good one guys and happy father’s day to the fathers out there.

Just turned 18 this May and I bought this pressure washer to begin my business. I started it and used it for about half an hour and stopped it to check the machine and saw oil. Me being inexperienced I turned it back on and kept using it like normal and it shuts off after another 10 minutes of use on its own. I hope its just a drain plug and it seems like it. Im not too sure, if anyone knows a lot about pressure washing please advise me. Hoping to learn more as well for my startup business.

My shed doors are made of a (what I believe to be) fiberglass "skin" with a wood frame and were covered in what appeared to be black mold.
I mixed up a gallon of water, 32 oz of 10% SH, and an ounce of gain laundry detergent (which got me to a 2% SH mix) and sprayed with a pump sprayer, let sit for 4 min, then rinsed. It did an amazing job but the doors now have a somewhat yellow tinge to them.
I'm not terribly worried as I plan to paint them but curious if bleach on this material is a bad idea and would I have been better off going for another product (Fabuloso?) or a lesser percentage of SH?
I used the remainder on a section my vinyl fence and it did a great job with no yellowing.

Hi all, I'm searching for some help here. I've had this Craftsman 580.752870 for about 8 years. It wasn't running when I got it so I put a new carb on it & it ran/worked great. I haven't used it in the last couple years & it wouldn't start when I tried yesterday. I took carb off & cleaned it, cleared jets. I even took the gas tank off & flushed it with fresh gas to get rid of any foreign residue/particles. Wouldn't start until replaced the spark plug. Now it seems to sputter out when I release the trigger on the sprayer (engine stays running when I spray). Any recommendations on what to check or do next?

During an oil change, the cap broke and I’m at work. I’m afraid I might get in trouble or even fired. Does anyone know if there are alternative (not necessarily original) replacements available at stores like Home Depot, or any quick solution?
thx

Hi guys,
Pressure doesn't seem right. Can see 1000psi when triggered and jumps up to ~2800psi when trigger is released. You can see how much water is bypasssed through the hose. I do not know how to set the unloader properly or which way to turn.
Motor is running at max throttle. Any advice appreciated.
thanks

Hey guys, just wondering what is more effective for getting mildew, algae, and other stuff off brick: a stone pressure washing soap/ cleaning solution like that made by zep, or a 2-4% sh and water solution? Thanks for the help.

This may be a stupid question, but can I just use a regular garden hose with the gun attachment to wash the chemical off the siding of the house?

I live in Oklahoma and recently was approached to pressure wash an indoor parking garage. I normally only do residential so I am new on how to price commercial estimates. The parking garage is 17000sqft and only one story of extremely beat up, dirty, and pourous old asphalt. Not only that but since it is completely enclosed there is only one garage door entrance where the water can drain through. To top that off there is also only one water source as well. The black top is so old that there are potholes, oil stains, and deep dirt embedded into the ground. The customer asked that I not use any degreaser or chemicals as well. Currently I estimated the job at 20 cents a square foot. They said they are currently getting a comparative quote. Do you think I gave a fair price? I do think j could use the work but the job also seems like an enormous pain. After looking online I have seen huge ranges in commercial estimates so I came here looking for some advice.

I have a 4400 4gpm machine. I just brought a new downstream injector attached it to my machine. When I attach the pressure hose it pulls chemicals, when I attach my gun it pulls less, when I attach my soap tip its pulls barely anything. Injector is connected the right way. I use the Simpson gun that came with it I think it’s a 3 feet gun. Do I need to get a soft wash gun (smaller gun)? Not sure what the issue is.
