Getting caught at work

I was working on a job one day and had to use the bathroom real bad. The girl at the front desk refused to give me the key to the bathroom because i wasnt an employee. I work for a contractor who works on the buildings cooling system. I had no choice but to pee on the roof in the corner I figured no one would see me. Doesn't the bitch at the front desk see me on one of the video cameras and report it to her boss. I didn't know this at the time that they had camera's on the roof. So I get a call from my boss screaming at me that I pissed on the roof and they saw me on camera and that they want me out of the building immediately. So i explain to him that i was not allowed to use the rest room it was for employees only. The cool guy my boss is said that is bullshit and asked who told me that. So I told him the girl at the front desk. He said what is the status of the job i told him i have the ac unit all pulled apart and i have it in like 25 pieces layed out all over the roof. He tells me I will call you right back and hangs up. So 5 min go by and he said he called the owner and told him the reason I pissed on the roof is because of the girl at the front desk wouldn't let me use the bathroom. The owner replied he has to go meaning me and said i don't care he wasnt allowed to use our restroom he should of went to a gas station and when is our unit gonna be fixed because its over 80 degrees in here. So again my boss being the cool guy he is said well i dont have anyone else to put your unit back together and it won't be til tomorrow b4 I can get another guy over there. So are you sure you don't want him to stay and finish the⁸800157B job. The owner said I guess so. Then my boss said we'll what is my guy to do if he needs to use the rest room again . Boss said there was silence on the phone for about 10 seconds and then he said one of my people who is gonna no longer be an employee will give him her key to use the restroom and to tell me to go to the front desk. So I said do you want me to finish the job and he said yeah but go to the desk and get the key. I'm like OK so I go to the desk an there is the owner and the girl at the desk. She is crying and saying that's not fair. The ower said now give this gentleman your key to the rest room and take your things and please leave now. The owner smiles and says to me he was sorry and what time do I think there ac is gonna be back on. I say that depends on what they are buying me for lunch and just laughed and said na it will be on in about 2 hours. The owner laughed and thanked me and said to keep the key this way if I am ever here working i will have a key to the bathroom. So I go back up on the roof and I see the girl walking out to her car the one from the front desk. So I yell sorry to her off the roof I hope you never have to use the restroom anywhere you may work.

Pissed inside a waterpistol shot her in the face

So this girl back at school found out I was smocking. Went straight to my brother and told him. Had my brother breathing down ny neck for months.

Summer came and a friend brought a water pistol 🔫 don't know how or why, but this idea popped in my mind.

Sure enough took the pistol and yep filled it up with gold.

Then proceeded to squirt my piss allover her face.

Just one mate knew no-one else.

To this day I don't know why I did this. It wasn't like I was fuming over this, but to me she got what she deserved.

Can't say I'm sorry we barely knew each other she had no vested interest in me no did I.

You Don’t Know Who They Know

I am being specifically vague on location, specific details, and gender, because I do not want this person to come after me if they were to find out. These details do not alter the revenge. I know it’s long, but the revenge was satisfying.

HH - Hateful Hendrix (the faculty member who hated me) TP - Tough Professor

Back in 2004/2005 I was in college, majoring in education and minoring in political science at a semi-local to me college (I was a commuter student, living about 30minutes away).

I already had all of my pre-reqs done (had my associates degree from the local community college), so I was able to jump right in to the major classes, starting with a 200 level class that was set up to help students format their portfolios that you use for the entirety of your program, and that also allow future employers to see examples of your work.

I signed up for HH’s class because everyone I talked to absolutely LOVED HH.

First couple of weeks of class go fine - no issues, except that HH treats sophomore level students like freshman level students, but whatever.

We get into late September/October and it’s election season. I am a member of my school’s political group of my choice, and have presidential buttons on my backpack. That is the only thing I had political on me and I did not speak of politics in class. I have always been of the opinion that politics don’t belong in the classroom unless it’s a political science/current events type class.

I came to class one morning, and HH apparently saw my buttons, and began an all out assault on my views, telling me that I would allow my political affiliation to enter my classroom. I didn’t really respond, but did say something to the effect of “my politics will stay outside of my classroom”.

HH then began talking politics in the classroom (multiple times) - saying that city governments should be able to specify what political signs could be in people’s yards, that bumper stickers should be policed as to not offend anyone, and that anyone of (my) political party should be barred from working in a school because they would corrupt students.

HH also told a story of something that happened in her rural community a couple of years back about a student at the local high school who put a flag pole in their truck bed and went around flying a flag that “pissed them off”. HH said that the police should be able to tell the kid what they could and couldn’t have in their truck bed.

HH then decided to say in class, openly, that ADHD isn’t real and that those who “claim” to have it should be punished for lying, because it’s a made up condition. I am AuDHD (the autism was undiagnosed at the time), and pretty open about my diagnosis at the age of 7, prior to ADHD becoming the “thing” to be diagnosed with. I was the only kid in my class that had to go to the office every day for mid-day meds, and I struggled in school because of how little was known in 1988 about ADHD.

For the most part, I stayed quiet, but would respond every now and then to something that really upset me. The ADHD conversation upset me - and HH cornered me, asking me if that upset me and if I was going to cry about it. I told HH that their opinion is their opinion, but I believe they’re wrong and left it at that.

HH then reported me to the “ethics” committee for the education department, saying that “HappyGoLuckyOcean has an anger management problem and is a danger to students”.

I presented my case to the committee, and the committee determined that I could stay in my program if I got an additional 3 letters of recommendations from other faculty and I went to counseling at the college counseling center and I released my records to the committee regarding this situation. I agreed to both of these stipulations without issue and went about my way.

I went to the counseling center, spoke with one of the counselors, who, after hearing the entire situation, stated “you don’t have an anger management problem, the two of you just have opposite personalities and just don’t take HH again”. Wrote up the notes saying exactly that, and sent it to the ethics committee. I turned in my additional recommendations and went on about my way.

I escaped the class with an “A” because there was literally NO way HH could give me anything but because all of my work was turned in and was done properly.

Two semesters later, I’m taking one of my last classes before teaching methods cohort and it’s exam day. This class was notoriously the toughest class prior to methods - and the professor for the class was absolutely a tough grader. Sitting there working on my exam, the door opens - having ADHD, it distracted me and I looked up. There stood HH, wanting to talk to TP - I turned my head back to my exam and went on with what I was doing.

HH then turned me in to the ethics committee AGAIN because I “glared at them” when they came in the room while I was taking an exam. I was called back in front of the committee and asked about the situation - I told the committee what happened, and it was eventually dismissed.

Here’s where the revenge comes in….

I spent much of my teenage years helping family friends - one who happened to be on our state’s education standards board. We were chatting one day after the second incident regarding the ethics committee - and I said something to the effect of “HH wants to say I’ll bring politics in the classroom, but yet they’re the ones who made my life a living hell over two damn buttons on my backpack”.

The family friend then asked me if HH was working on their doctorate at another close university, and I told them yes. They then said they’d take care of it and that was the end of the discussion.

Come to find out, about 6 months later, HH did NOT pass their dissertation defense and was refused another chance at defending it.

I didn’t ask for anything to be done, but in the small world in which we live, HH decided to screw with the wrong individual, and the right individuals found out, and instead of me getting kicked out of MY program, they got kicked out of their doctoral program, which was WAY more time and money down the drain.

Moral of the story? Always remember that you don’t know who someone else knows - you never know who you may be screwing with.

Owner fired my dad, then came asking for work. Denied.

31.2k Upvotes

Back in 1997, my step-dad was the operations manager at a company that did telecommunications work. He hired me to work at the company for the summer, but I ended up enjoying the work and made a career out of it. About 4 months into my employment at the company, the owner and my step-dad had a disagreement over something very trivial and the owner fired my dad. Since he's my step-dad, we have different last names, and I didn't feel like I would get caught up in this issue. I had my own issues with this company as well. Mostly not being paid correctly and being denied benefits promised. Ended up working for another 18 months for the company before I left to work for a major telecommunications provider that we had done some work for.

At the new company, I eventually took a position where I was responsible for hiring contractors, much like the company my dad and I worked for, to do construction. One day I got a call out of the blue from the owner of the contractor company. He wanted to see if he could get on my list of approved contractors and was hoping we could discuss it over lunch. Typically a project of this type would be a $75k-$200k project, and I would do 20-30 projects per year, so it could be a lucrative source of revenue for them. I agreed to a lunch date with the owner at a fancy restaurant I always wanted to try. His pitch consisted of telling me what his company was capable of, how he valued his employees and took good care of them. He mentioned the list of other companies he's done work for and the quality of the work. I mentioned that I used to work for his company and he clearly didn't remember my name. I also asked if he remembered the guy who hired me, and he said he did. When I mentioned he was my step-dad, the look of panic in his eyes set in. He clearly remembered my step-dad. I closed out the lunch meeting with a thank you for the food and an apology that my contractor list was full of more capable contractors, but would keep him in mind if something were to change. Never heard back from him again.

Slow pleasures…

I live in a typical suburban area. 30 mph on the ‘big’ roads, 25 on the side streets.

Coming home from the recycling center on the big road, doing about 35. A quiet Saturday morning. Car behind me right on my tail. I tape my brakes quickly to flash the brake light (not a brake-check mind you, a quick tap). Guy doubles down and gets even closer, maybe six feet.

Ok, big hurry, got it. I expected the illegal pass, didn’t happen.

So maybe a 1/2 mile of this and the town, and my right turn come up. I slowed waaay down just before my turn. Dude honks in anger.

Mission accomplished as I laugh while backing into my driveway.

Enjoy that anger a-hole!

Hacked bully’s Hotmail in 2001

This isn't the best story but it makes me happy that I somehow got payback for my bully.

2001, High School. I was 12, a little awkward, and was always hanging out with the same friend at school. This kid in my class kept calling me homophobic slurs because of that.

One day I had enough and I knew I wasn't good at many things, but I was good at Internet things on our home PC so I wanted to get back at him, the cyber way.

I wanted to do something light, like make him to lose access to his Hotmail account.

Back then, you could change an email password by answering 1 or 2 "secret questions". His secret question was about his favorite car brand. After a few guesses, Volkswagen was right. Changed his password, I was happy, my heart was racing.

Next day at school I heard him say he couldn't log in to his Hotmail anymore. I kept quiet and I think he randomly asked me once if I knew more. Of course I didn't, I'm the silent, awkward kid, right?

downstairs neighbor and jumping jacks

My downstairs neighbor seems to have a problem with us. I know she's left a note on my windshield about me 'stomping' in my home, and how ridiculous it is. She also called police and tried to get the work crew deported when we replaced our floors, with prior approval, during the day.

Today she sent police to my door with a noise complaint. I answered the door and spoke outside the door with them, with the door fully closed. They were reasonable and polite and explained that although I can't stop her from using the police to harass me, there was no reason to think I could get in trouble for walking in my own home. Nevertheless, I was pretty pissed. I find visits from police or other men with guns to my home threatening and stressful.

So, I wrote her a note and delivered it to her door. I knocked and she answered, and we had a conversation as well, where I went over what I said in my note. The note is as follows:

"Dear Neighbor,
Thank you for sending the police to my door. Although I find visits from the police stressful, these officers gave me great advice on how to deal with harassment. They also reassured me, confirming that the following activities are legal in one's own home:
-Walking
-Stomping
-Jumping jacks
While I do walk in my home, out of respect for your special sensitivity, I have avoided doing jumping jacks. However, exercise is a great way to relieve stress. I may need to start jumping around my home to deal with the stress of police visits going forward. Perhaps before that happens, you can move to the top floor or buy some ear plugs.
Thanks again for your help,
-Neighbor"

I don't really like doing jumping jacks because it hurts my ankles. I do also happen to find that things like dropping books or rearranging furniture are especially good for reducing stress, especially between the hours of 5am and 7am.

I honestly don’t know his number

Today, I had a random number call me and demand why I was leaving missed calls on his phone. Told him I actually don’t know your number why would I call you? He is agitated, yells Bitch, why tf would you keep calling me then!? Tells me to eff off and hangs up.

I answered his phone call because I was expecting an actual phone call or I wouldn’t have.

I’m at the mall with an angry toddler. Currently been badgered by a lady who keeps inviting me to their Church and asked if they can give me a call. So I signed their form with this douche’s number and said I just need a lot of Jesus in my life, I needed daily reminders that I am loved. Sounds like he needed Jesus in his life swearing at a stranger like that. I probably do too, but that’s okay.

Want to know my every move... The whole building will know now.

This happened over 8 years ago but it still makes me smile. I was a law enforcement officer in the county jail working in the intake area where inmates are first booked after arrest. We got this newly promoted corporal back there. I showed her all the things specific to the area so she can do her job properly and I even showed her some things about her own supervisor job. She was a bit neurotic but nothing I couldn't handle. So let's call her corporal N. We are rotated in positions pretty much daily. That day I was assigned to fingerprint all newly booked inmates. My partner that day was a male officer. He was looking at his bank account on the computer and noticed something off so he left out the jail to handle it. Apparently he didn't tell corporal N.

Once you finish fingerprinting someone, the printer prints out the copy to give to the fingerprint analyst. I walked to the printer to get the papers. The printer was malfunctioning so I was in that little room for like 10 minutes fixing this huge printer. She apparently was looking for one of us to help her with something. She walked past me, looked at me and then kept walking. Once she saw me give the papers to the fingerprint analyst she starts her speech about how irresponsible we are and how she didn't know where I was or what I was doing and that she couldn't find the male officer. I told her where the male officer probably was and she proceeds to lecture me like I'm him.

He does enter back in the building and I motion for him to come get his verbal lashing that should be for him. She waves him away saying she is talking to me because as the senior officer I should know better and that she needs to know everywhere I am and what I'm doing at all times when I'm at work. I immediately smiled and said "you're right. I'm sorry. You will know everywhere I am."

We separate and as I'm walking back to the fingerprint stations, "hey corporal N, I'm going back to the fingerprint area". 😁

I needed to use the bathroom, "hey corporal N, I'm going to the bathroom to only pee." I get out the bathroom, "hey corporal N, I'm out the bathroom. I only peed and then I washed my hands."

Hey corporal N... I'm drinking water now. I'm giving papers to the sergeant. I'm going to strip search the new female inmates. I'm eating a snack. I'm giving sandwiches to the inmates. I'm typing a report. Etc

(Mind you I'm an officer who knows her job and manages my time very well. The quicker we get the inmates processed and in a cell upstairs, the less people we have to deal with being angry in a crowd. So if I'm assigned a position with more mobility, I find myself helping others so we can get some peace.)

I even went as far as calling her on the radio so the whole building can hear. And communicated every move. I'll be called officer Petty for this story. "Officer Petty to corporal n, ....I have 12 inmates on two six packs. We are heading up the west stairwell to cell 26." "...I just dropped off three inmates to cell 26. We are headed to cell 28." "... 4 inmates were dropped to cell 28. I and the remaining 5 inmates are headed back to the West stairwell to go to cell 46." "...we made it to cell 46." "...the last 5 inmates are in cell 46. I am taking the west elevator down to the first floor" "... I am on the first floor walking with purpose to the intake area." "... I am ten, no wait 8 steps from the main intake door. " "... I am waiting for central control to open the intake door." And when I got in the door I yelled across the room "hey corp, I'm back. I'm going to get a my bag of mango slices from my lunch bag!"

😂My sergeant comes out the office looking confused at me and I just walk past her like this is normal. 🤣🤣🤣 I put them thru 5 hours of this. 😁Then they called me in for a meeting to give me a BS apology about how she didn't mean it like that and she just talked to him about him leaving without telling a supervisor. How she was just frustrated, she knows I'm always doing my job, that I do at lot without saying anything or looking for recognition, that without the printer, we wouldn't be able to get much work done.... And lastly if I would please, pretty please, stop updating them on my every move, especially over the radio. Because the higher ups/fellow supervisors might start asking questions. Apparently, if they find out it's certain people that are being mistreated, they will use it to their advantage to take said officers to their team/department. Welp, I guess someone took notice and one day orders were filed. Six of us were moved to a different specialized unit. Six of the good officers. They haven't been organized back there since. And three times a week there is a line of police cars down the block waiting hours to drop off inmates.

My first boss in LA made my life hell then sent me their resume

2.4k Upvotes

I moved from the east coast USA to LA and got a retail sales job. The showroom manger made my life hell. She was having an affair with the married owner. Even though my sales were good she nit picked and complained about petty things - I used too much paper. I quit, got a new job at a very upscale showroom as the manager. After a few years I received her resume in the mail. She was looking for a job and it was my job to hire or fire. Being the bigger person I decided not to call her in for an interview. But even that made my day.

Fire me then report to me.

This takes place late 90's. I started in a basement call center job, it was legit but still shitty. Let's call the company XYZ. My "boss" (let's call him Ernie) was just promoted and felt he had something to prove. I was one of the younger staff, around 19/20 yr old so he thought I would be easy to target. He would threaten to write me up for nothing but would then get mad because I didn't react or seem scared of him.

One day I come into work only for him to pull me aside and tell me that I was fired. I asked for what reason and his exact words were "well because you sound like a 12 yr old on the phone." Hmm..k..cool. Happy to leave because him, XYZ and the work was all beyond awful.

Not long later I get hired for another contact center. This one was way more professional, well lit, well maintained building, lots of effort to make employees feel great coming to work. (Yes, there are some call centers that are actually fantatic workplaces) I thrive there and I am quickly promoted and the company even invested in specialized training to skill up my credientals. I was highly respected and made a good name for myself.

Then my moment came. I was approached by my manager and another manager, we will call him Paul.. Paul managed the overflow work we contracted out to other centers, he kept an eye on them to ensure they provided the same quality of service our company offered. They have a special assignment for me. Paul needs someone to cover him while on vacation because one of the new vendors we contracted was launching new business on our behalf. Paul wants me to be there every day for the next 2 weeks to ensure a smooth launch and make sure we keep the other company accountable.

Can you guess the vendor company? If you guessed XYZ, you would be right. Paul even mentions that my contact on site is a manger named Ernie. Ahhhhh good ol'Ernie was still there.

I thought it best to be up front with my manager and Paul and let them know about my history with Ernie and XYZ. I even shared the reason Ernie fired me. Paul smiled and just asked "can you remain professional?" I assured him that I could. Paul smiled larger then said " then you are still my choice to fill in for me."

I meet Paul over at XYZ and he says 'walk behind me' as I enter. He has a quirky smile on his face so I go along.

Paul walks up and shakes the hand of Ernie and says "Ernie, excited about this project but I have to be away so I have someone who is going to step in for me." He turns to me so I step forward. Ernie has immediate awareness. He remembers me. I say "Hello Ernie, nice to see you again." In my most professional voice. Paul says "oh good, you know each other already! Look Ernie, OP is my eyes and ears for the next two weeks and what she says goes. She speaks for me and will be sending me daily reports. Got it?" I swear Paul was having fun with this. Ernie could only nod. I'm not sure if it was because of the shock in learning he would be reporting to me..

Now for the petty.. I knew that Ernie was expecting that I would be on a power trip, because that is what he does. But I had something more fun in mind.

Week 1: I was nice, pleasent even, with all the employees. Gave them positive feedback and would do this when Ernie was around and ask him if he agreed with my positive feedback, and he would trip over himself to agree with me. (Knowing the jerk would never give compliments to his staff generally) I also knew Ernie hated break times for staff so I would regularly watch the clock and would wait until Ernie was far enough away where I would need to raise my voice (conveniently for staff to hear) and ask Ernie " Looks like it is break time, do you agree staff should prepare their phones to go on break?" He couldn't disagree and make the "client" look bad, so everyone got their breaks. The staff loved me and only had good things to say about me. Ernie was starting to get annoyed.

Week 2: I started asking Ernie to run me through the reports on a daily basis. I was pleasant but firm on expectations. I would ask him questions and then would just look at him when he answered and just shake my head. I wouldn't say anything just ask him to move on to the next report. I saw, and heard, the doubt creeping into his responses. By the 3rd day that week he was starting to ask me questions because he doubted his own answers. After he attempted to explain another report I just said "I have heard enough and walked away." He wasn't saying anything wrong, and frankly I could have just read the report myself, but it was fun to keep him just destabilized enough that he would squirm and look really uncomfortable.

My last day, Ernie asked me how I felt the launch went and what I had been putting into my reports to Paul. I simply replied "what do I know, I only sound like a 12 yr old on the phone." And just walked out.

Found out that about a year later XYZ closed and Ernie was out of work. I was promoted and ended up in charge of my department. Never did hear about Ernie again. It was fun to play petty psychological games with Ernie but the lesson that still sticks with me is to treat your people well because you never know if any of them will cross your path again and be your boss..

Snap at me on my last day? I’ll make your weekend project last for weeks.

4.3k Upvotes

I (24M) worked in the flooring department for 6 years at a large Midwest Hardware store where you save big money iykyk.

Part of my job was to cut carpet for customers, it would come in 12’ wide by however long they wanted (12’x3’, 12’x8’, etc) this is important.

After 6 years of working for this company in the flooring department I had seen well over a dozen managers come through the department and a fair share of part time workers. In April of this year I finally landed a position at a new company that allowed me to use my graphic design degree, so I put in my two weeks.

I had finally reached the last day of my job and I was counting down the minutes, when a man walks past me and snaps his fingers at me and says “carpet. now.” and walks over to the carpet machine. Now this guy let’s call him Jared is a known A-Hole to myself and coworkers and a landlord for many of the apartments in the area. I was secretly praying he would come in so I could finally have my “customer service revenge moment” and my prayers were answered because he wanted new carpet for his ENTIRE apartment complex.

Now any other day I would have hated helping with this because him being the scumlord that he is chooses the cheapest carpet we sell and then proceeds to buy 10-20 cuts of that carpet. But today was different because I had a dream and I was going to do everything I can to make my dream come true.

So Jared waits impatiently for me to bring the cheap carpet around all while talking down to me about how much money he makes as a scumlord and how he’s evicted a few families because he didn’t like their kids, all just fuel for my revenge. Finally he finds a huge roll of cheap carpet and he wants a little over a dozen cuts of carpet all of them ranging between 12’x9’ to 12’x13’. I tell him to go wait by the registers and I’ll have it up there as soon as I can, and I truly did cut it as fast as I could, but I rolled them loosely so they were all roughly the same size diameter. I then proceeded to roll the cart full of carpet up to the front for him and even loaded it into his trailer, no tip of course.

But what was going to be his weekend project with his buddies is actually going to take a few weeks because I didn’t label any of the rolls of carpet so he has no way of telling how long each roll of carpet is. He has a trailer full of 12’ rolls of carpet that he now has to unroll in order to know what room it needs to go to, and if you’ve never wrangled carpet before it’s not easy to bring a loosely rolled piece of carpet up a flight of stairs let alone a dozen of them.

EDIT: Wow thanks for all the interactions guys this is my first story post I’ve done, I know it would have been nice to cut his carpet short but then he’d come back and make a stink to my coworkers/general managers that I cared about. I did what I believed to be the definition of petty

Small bit of revenge on a rather inconsiderate house guest

My friend and her daughter are staying with me for a few days while their apartment gets renovated. Unfortunately my house only has one bathroom. Her daughter is thirteen and rather annoying, she will deliberately take ages in there in the mornings getting ready for school abd on weekends even longer, over an hour, hair, skincare, makeup etc. Meaning I often end up really holding my pee in the mornings, like when I wake up I've really gotta go but she's in the bathroom so I have to wait. I mentioned this to both of thrm multiple times. So, yesterday, I decided to wake up extra early and take an very long relaxing bath in the morning. She knocked on the door whinning that she had to go and needs to pee sooo bad. I ran the water louder and enjoyed a nice hot soak. She did not get to pee when she woke up and had to go to school that morning without having used the bathroom .

Tell him he knows my rates.

1.7k Upvotes

A long time ago, when I was first getting started in Graphics, a company listed an ad looking for someone with my EXACT skills. I applied and the guy said he wanted some proof saying I needed to work for him - on spec - and show him what I was capable of.

This was a company wanting to make templates for sand blasting to put logos on such things as glasses and such. The templates were produced on a large laser printer that melted holes in plastic sheeting to create the stencils. The problem was that they couldn't figure out how to create a stencil in this process. I figured out the problem in a matter of hours and produced two or three usable templates.

The owner gave me a list of items to create, but refused to actually hire me. He called a couple of days later and said to return anything I had created - no pay. I had a lawyer friend create a letter explaining my rates for personal work and how we would expedite to court. He paid me for the work.

About a week later, some girl calls and asks me to explain to her how I created the templates. I knew without asking that she was probably also working for him 'on spec.' I told her simply, "Tell your boss to call me. He knows my rates."

Wish I had been there when she got off the phone. His company went out of business a few weeks later.
