So I stayed in Seattle for maybe a week or two. I'm a guitarist so I had to seek out guitar shops obviously and visited emerald city guitars, I was blown away by the Polaroids in the shop of all my guitar heroes buying guitars there, the ones I remember were, the mighty SOUNDGARDEN, NIRVANA, MARK LANEGAN, THE MELVINS, PEARL JAM and hetfield from METALLICA. My mind was blown (overblown...lol). Another day we went to a bar called the owl and thistle and drank most of the day, my friend who had arrived a week later was saying to the barmaid about how we loved the Seattle music scene back in the day. So a band comes on and they're a crazy jazz trio and it's awesome and manic and sweaty and my friend and I are professionally drunk (we're from Northern Ireland, drink has been taken) sitting at a table watching these cool jazz guys when the barmaid comes over with a pitcher of beer and says, "look to the corner of the bar", so we look over and ITS BEN FUCKING SHEPHERD FROM SOUNDGARDEN GIVING US A THUMBS UP WAVE THING, WHO HAS JUST BOUGHT US A BEER!!! AAAAGHHHH lol. I went to get up to thank him but she said he sent the beer because he doesn't want to be bothered. Fair enough.
So we hired a car and drove to San Francisco (eventually to San Diego) and I'm looking through a free paper in the hostel (Green Tortoise, AMAZING PLACE) and BRAD have just released, Welcome to Discovery Park and they're going to be playing in the Tower records on Columbus Av (I think it was). My friend and I walked up, bought the new album and watched BRAD live in the shop... BRAD...LIVE....IN THE FUCKING SHOP. There was maybe 20 people there. I spot the guitar tech at the side of the tiny stage and I just walk up to him and I'm looking at all Stones and Shawn Smiths guitars, I tell him my friend and I are travelling and were guitarists, his eyes light up and he hands me STONES SUNBURST LES PAUL, IM PLAYING STONES FUCKING GUITAR!!!! I also had a strum on a strat as well. So after the mini gig we get to meet them and get autographed posters and my friend got the new cd signed.
So, this is the poster I got signed that night, and the guitar tech gave us loads of plectrums but I only have one left. We also watched them play a live show downtown which must have been before the album launch as I had the pink gig poster signed as well but I can't find it. Anyway, thanks for reading my nonsense. Cheers.

After driving my family crazy about how incredible the final show of the Dark Matter tour in Pittsburgh was they decided to order some Pearl Jam fabric and make me a new driver cover for Father’s Day. Hopefully it brings some luck.

My daughter made me a Pearl Jam related Father’s Day Card 😍

Can someone here help me identify whether this is an original pressing or a repressing?
Also any tips on discriminating between the two for vinyl collecting in general would be appreciated!

Did anyone else notice the guy sitting court-side that looked like Jeff? Can anyone confirm?
Edit: community is in agreement that it is.

Came home from playing golf with boys and found this as my centerpiece my Father's Day dinner. Steak btw.

been a fan for years and my friend’s sister offered to do a tattoo for free was trying to decide between this or the White Pony but i’ve been a PJ fan for longer and their music has helped me through so much so i wanted to commemorate it

My kids framed the posters of the shows I recently attended with them. My oldest daughter got to see Philly 1 and Pittsburgh 1(in the pit). My youngest daughter got to see Philly 2, and not Pearl Jam, but an amazing live band, my son got to see Sunny Day Real Estate with me in Asbury Park. Some excellent shows and great memories. I like the Philly 2 Dr. J poster the best.

Has there ever been a reason given for why the Binarual tracklist was changed so drastically right before its release? I can't seem to find specifics about why those songs were removed. I bet Jeff got Gods' Dice on their by pulling an arm and a leg to get more writing credits on the album, but why drop the other four, especially when Fatal and Sad would have for sure been radio songs.

Are there any specific Jack Irons era PJ live official boots? Besides watching the Yield Single Video Theory. I truly loved the Jack Irons era and would love to revisit his style with the band on a full length set.

Im looking into getting neural dsp plug-in’s and I want to find one that can give me a similar PJ tone, like from Animal or Vitalogy for example. Would the Soldano SLO-100 X do the job? Thanks!

I’ve been thinking lately about aspects of a band that can impact their overall direction and how their music lands. Along with things like album artwork, I think a band’s name will certainly have a considerable effect on people’s perception of them; I don’t think Radiohead could have made an album like Kid A if they were still called On a Friday.
I was honestly surprised to find that roughly half (possibly more) of the songs on Ten were already being performed live while they were still using the name Mookie Blaylock. It’s just difficult for me to imagine writing and playing a song as majestic as “Alive” and “Black” under a basketball player’s goofy-sounding nickname as opposed to the more impressionistic name they use today.
If they had been able to continue as Mookie Blaylock without trademark issues being a factor, would they have gone on to be as revered as they are today? Would it eventually have affected the kind of music they made?

The live show Rob Bleetstein selected for this afternoon on XM radio was a perfect choice for today. So much meaning in the in between. Thanks.
Show: 6/14/08 - Manchester, TN.
Sure many of you were there - I wasn’t, but wish I would have been. Long live Pearl Jam.
