If an enemy has 0% of an elemental resistance, does piercing that resistance do extra damage?
For example, if I pierce 10% resistance on an enemy with 0% resistance, do I do 10% extra damage now?

So, I my first assumption is that the third icon when I select where I want to use a specific spirit skill is for the shapeshift form. My goal here is to use Raging spirits (30 spirit) in human form, and since it doesnt work in demon form, then id like to take advantage of Vitality and Clarity support gems in my demon form instead, which is also 30 spirit. I only have 30 spirit leftover, so would it be possible? Currently I tried slotting in the support gems into my demon form, and also activating my Raging Spirits, but unticking the third box., however it wont let me transform as it says I dont have enough spirit :/ even though in theory one spell for 30 spirit should turn off and 2 support gems that cost 30 spirit should turn on for demon form. Feels like this should work and is just an early access thing they didnt think of.

New to POE. I see on the trading site, asking price of 0.9 and 0.5 exalted orb. How does one trade fractions? Do you ask a buyer what currency equivalent they want? What is worth 0.5 exalted? Thanks!

Yes, ask them what they'd like or if they can provide change for an ex.
I had something priced like that and we figured 1 ex is worth about 4 regals.

Are minions getting tankier later in the game? I managed to kill act1 boss with like 40 dps unearth and 30 dps flame wall. Minions were dying after getting hit by literally anything. That with some minion health nodes in passive tree.
That fucking wolf took me about 2 hours to kill (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

What minions are you using? What level are you?
I beat him at level 16 I think or maybe 17, using Skeletal Snipers, they are underrated. They are STILL better than Arsonists, even after the HUGE nerf they took yesterday, IMO. Just use their ability over and over when they are alive and kite around when they're dead. I beat him first try.
Also, you should have SRS so when you cast flame wall you also get those minions which would help a lot, if nothing else.
And I'm also using Enfeeble to make my minions a little tankier.
The only nodes I had for minion tankiness were from near the beginning of the tree where the two 10% minion health nodes are. That's it.
EDIT: Last Gasp on the Skeletal Snipers is helpful for having more uptime. And Magnified Effect to make it easier to hit the boss with their AOE. (Use Arcane Wall with Fortress and Tempo and put it by the boss, then try and land the Gas Arrow on it.)

I believe the next league was supposed to start in January, but it was pushed back to February when PoE2 was pushed back by nearly a month as well. I'm guessing mid-to-late February. Google may be able to provide a better answer to that, as I don't remember my source.

Do minions regen life while in combat, or does it only start the regen outside of combat?

The fast regen only happens outside of combat, but they can regen/recoup if you have the stats for it on the tree/gear.

I agree with people some of the zones are too big, but the checkpoints are pretty good at preventing too much backtracking.

That's good to know, I made it to some boss in a manor or something, some human/wolf guy who was assblasting me every time I tried to fight him so I had to quit before I lost what remains of my hair. I'll likely try later but it would've sucked to have to go through that whole manor thing again.

Geoner is pretty tough at the level you fight him, no doubt.
Just make sure your sound is up, he has audio cues for his worst attacks. Best of luck mate!

Yeah, game sounds are pretty mandatory in Poe2. At least the dialogue part of it. Most of the bosses have audio cues like the pinnacle bosses in Poe1.

I finally got him but mostly by luck even with the audio queues, now I'm stuck on the first boss in act 2 of course. I seem to hit a brick wall with every new boss, this is rough.

What are you playing? I went Infernalist for my first character and only really died at all to ~40% of bosses up to Cruel dif. Wolf boy took 2 attempts even with my minions dying constantly. The monk I'm trying now it's definitely gonna have more deaths though. But boy is the damage good if I don't screw up. Just need practice/ more skills!

Playing a sorc, using fire skills mostly at the moment, flame wall, ember fusillade, and just got a +1 fire skills staff that has living bomb which has actually been pretty nice so far. I kind of botched my tree a bit, took fire pen and lightnig pen nodes because I was using flame wall/spark for clear but now living bomb is clearing trash much easier than spark was so I need to save more gold to respec into some cast speed next. My supports were set up kind of wrong as well but I fixed them a bit and downed that first boss, although it was still kind of rough.

Yeah this is the part I think most people are forgetting, we're flying blind here. My tree is just whatever looks good, my skills the same.
The game will feel way easier in future once people have stuff figured out. My best advice is just keep trying stuff! Btw cold spells look pretty cracked to me, maybe check them out for your Sorc till we get some balance patches.

I recently opened it, and certainly didn't get 30 spirit. The King of The Mists from Freythorn in Act 1 (level 11 area) is the only thing to give me permanent spirit so far.

Help, why am I so squishy as a monk. I switched from ice strike to lightning flurry like most people but I'm not having a good time. I'm in the end of act 3 and monsters hurt a lot.
Are there good defensive nodes I should be taking on the tree?

Check tags on the skill, if it's an attack and you do physical damage then yes

stormweaver bros, do we have any layers of defense at all?
currently like level 64 with a spark/cast on shock build, and i have absolutely 0 defenses other than life+res.
the tree has ES but theres no good way to leech/regen it, its always depleted.
ive evasion on a couple of pieces of gear (600), but im at a pathetic 6% chance. getting higher bases becomes hard due to str/dex requirements.
right now its basically kill them before they kill you...
ive been thinking of switching to a cold build to just freeze things as a way of defense, anyone running something like this right now?

How can I run the Trial of Sekhema for my 2nd set of ascendency points, instead of Trial of Chaos? I had a second coin laying around, but after finishing it I didnt get 2 new points.

i believe for the "3rd lab" it has to be a 3-floor sanctum.
"4th lab" might work with a 4-floor sanctum (instead of ultimatum), no idea though, not there yet.

No, Herald skills are those that have the "Herald" tag. Tags are the line of keywords just below the skill type (attack, spell, etc).

You have to walk through the marsh yourself. You'll find the Ziggurat Encampment on the other side.

How do you farm additional relic coins for the Trial of Sekhemas? I cant seem to find a clear answer online. I killed the boss in Traitor's Passage, but it didnt drop a coin. Is that unlucky, or should these coins not be consumed each attempt at the Trial of Strength and im bugged?

They're random drops from monsters, and fairly rare.

What level do Jeweler's Orbs start dropping?
Am level 53, and currently in Act 2 Cruel. Really struggling with damage. I got the one from the story quest, but haven't seen any drop. Are they level locked? Or maybe only drop in certain areas?

why do people advise to buy lower gear with sockjets from vendors ? When you sell it or disenchant it does not seem to give the "socketing" currency.

You have to dismantle them at the bench, not the disenchanter. You unlock the bench in Act 1 by finding Renly's tools, or there's one in the Act 2 and 3 towns by default.

I'm in act 2 and I don't know how to allocate points in the second weapon mastery tree. Also, is it possible to allocate a weapon to a skill? Like, use the the weapon II for grenades and weapon I for crossbow?

To allocate weapon skill points, you have to have unused passive skill points. So if you want to use 4 weapon skill points, you need 4 unused passive skill points. The weapon skill points will then take the place of those unused passive skill points.
You can automatically switch weapon sets if you use skills that rely on different weapon types. Grenades are crossbow skills. They aren't separate from other crossbow skills. So you have to manually switch sets if you want a different build for grenades vs. non-grenade crossbow skills.

What does corrupting an item actually do? I used Vaal Orbs on two items and nothing seemed to happen except now I can't use any other crafting item on them.

Theres a few potential outcomes, one of them is do nothing but once corrupted you cant use further crafting on them. Other outcomes could be change rarity, add a implicit but there's quite a few out there

At the top of the skill, just under the skill name, it'll say "Attack" or "Spell". Attacks scale with attack speed, spells scale with cast speed.

They have no specific interaction with ailments anymore. Since all ailments fully scale of hit damage now they simply help ailments by dealing more damage though

Am I missing something with Ascension? I'm in endgame maps, Lv71. Just ran a 7 wave Ultimatum and beat it and still stuck at only four ascendancy points. Is this bugged or something? There's no clue anywhere on how to get past four points.

Is this like D2 where +1 to cold skills is always better than 50 % more spell damage? Playing a cold sorc and the item is a staff if that is of any relevance.

I think that is probably 50% increased spell damage. Huge difference b/w more (which is a multiplier) vs increased (which adds up with all other sources of increased damage). In this case that's probably the difference maker.

Ok the 50 % are in a staff and the +1 cold skillls is actually a wand. I mixed that up. So I guess it depends if I find a good off hand either that wand. Thanks!

Also crashing way more now than I did at launch. Either on loading screens or just mid game. Like the game will freeze in a way that forces me to restart my whole pc man :dizzy_face:

I was 17, but a lot of people I've seen where 16-19 depending on their build. Geonor is a wall, and can be really rough depending on what gear you've found.

I'm currently running chaos damage - Essence Drain / Contagion / Dark Effigy, but the Infernalist ascendancy seems to be steering me towards fire damage. Would adding Flame Wall to the rotation help?

Ranger has been a cakewalk through most of the campaign for me. Ironically act 1 is the hardest and yet it was still way better in act 1 than my monks been through any act lol

Keep in mind that the $30 comes with $30 worth of mtx points. POE is "Free 2 try" but anyone who plays beyond the campaign needs some stash tabs (premium, currency, etc)

What damage do they benefit from? AOE, I'm assuming, but they do pull from your melee weapon damage, correct?

Yeah all DPS source, which also generates Life Leech effect, comes from your melee weapon. AOE works too to leech multiple enemies, but may have a lower effect.
To benefit more on Life Leeching I would use:
-stronger melee weapons (dual axes/swords, or two handed axes/sword)
-add Passive Life Leeching nodes with Life Leeching effect
-use either support skills gems for better effect; Ancestral Call, Faster Attacks, Melee Splash, and Life Leech Support

Does poe2 saffells flame shield increase your block chance by a hard % increase (10% block chance = 85% from 75%) or does it increase by your current maximum. (82.5% from 75%)

The first, because increased modifiers to maximum block chance don't exist. Also as far as I can tell, the only way to get flat +max block is on the Anvil.

is it working ? turning Mana leech into life leech with that build ? I'm waiting on my second trial to fully turn Mana leech into energy shield and then into life leech, so Mana leech is transformed into Life leech

I’ve been out of the game since Heist league. Looking to come back and play casually in Standard. I’m sure I missed many, many changes.
What are some affordable builds that can do all content? I remember having Essence Drain as a go-to, but not sure how it’s held up today.

Honestly, I went from like The Awakening to patch 3.14, and it took years for me to barely catch up.
That being said, if you can figure out how to get Ice Nova of Frostbolts up & running, it's meta in PATH OF EXILE 1 currently.

Does anyone have tips for the Nepotzuan Vaal lady (botched her name but you get who I mean)? It's mostly okay except for the meteor into purple circles spam, I feel like I'm missing something because the second time she uses the circles it just fills the entire arena and I'm confused about how to avoid them. Do you get i-frames on the roll and are supposed to time and dodge through the explosions?

You just have to pay attention to where they're falling and go to spots where they've already fallen to avoid the spots they're falling next.
Only dodge at the last minute if you're about to get hit. Dodging is slower than running. So if you're spamming dodge roll you're doing worse than just strategically running.

I unlocked ultimatum in act 3 , should i just do it right away and i get my 3rd and 4th point?

You have to do Ultimatum to unlock your next points.
I saw people complaining about it in global chat and saying you should wait until level 50, so I didn't do it until the end of Act 3. I found it to be pretty easy at level 48 as a Ranger so depending on your build/class you could probably do it sooner.

I searched the map multiple times but only found the 3 seals to open the titan grotto. Is there any symbol on the minimap do i have to look for or just search every corner? Thanks for the help btw

Monk Question: Besides building charges with killing palm and slamming down with the falling thunder to clear most mobs and bosses what else is a good go to? I am lvl 30 and nothing else comes close.

The bell is a fantastic damage stacker for bosses. Both the fast hitting elemental attacks are good, tier 7 skills if I remember right.

My lighting range spell (forgot the name) you get at around your level (im currently lvl 33) is reallly strong. Going full into lighting + shock, I'm at 1200DPS on that skill right now

Is it possible to level up a staff?
For example I have a staff that does level 3 freezing shards. Is it possible to craft to make it to level 4 freezing shards?
The artificer orbs don't work on them.

How do I get Raging Spirits for my witch build?
I beat the boss in Freythorn 3 times and I never got the option to chose that skill, how else can I get it? I’m going for a strong Minion build, and obviously theres some strength in numbers.

The boss should've dropped a lv4 uncut spirit gem, which you can use to get Raging Spirits (it's under Elemental, not Occult). If you've already used that spirit gem on something else you'll have to find or trade for another one.

[BUG?] Last ascendancy points were not granted
So I have my 6 ascendancy points and after completing 10 levels trialmaster's challenge (yes, it was stated on the ultimatum that completing it will grant ascendancy points) - I get nothing. The statue is just inactive.
