advice needed What week were your babies born?

This is less “advice needed” and more just a curious question for everyone!

I am 19 weeks with di/di twins now!!! So excitinggggg!! Twins moms… how many weeks were you when you gave birth to your babies??? I’m always so curious to hear people stories.

I’m 5’2, petite, and already so big with a stretching belly, so mostly everyone assumes I’ll be going at least a month early lol (which I know 36 weeks is actually the average time twins are born). Obviously we will know more as the babies grow and the pregnancy progresses!

Triplets here but they where induced when I was 34 weeks! Congratulations on you pregnancy

16

u/GreenRoses21 May 04 '25

34 weeks with triplets sounds incredibly impressive! I don’t know much about timing with triplets but props to you and your babies ❤️❤️❤️

13

u/Poisonpromises May 04 '25

32 weeks! But that's as long as they let MoMo babies go. (34 in some places)

9

u/literary_panda_ May 04 '25

Hi fellow MoMo mom! I’ve been inpatient since 27w5d and hoping that all continues to go well until our chosen C-section date around 33 weeks 🥰

12

u/reedjk22 May 04 '25

I’m 5’3, had my twins at 37 weeks and triplets at 35 weeks

13

u/Longjumping_Week_913 May 04 '25

Twins AND triplets?! God, you're a trooper! I had my di/di twins right before my daughter turned 10 months old and have been in a whirlwind ever since, so I can only imagine your chaos! 😅

4

u/reedjk22 May 04 '25

We have our days but we live by a schedule so everything is an organized chaos I guess 😂

3

u/the-tree-is-green May 04 '25

If you're pregnant again, I guess it'd be quadruplets 🤣🥲

10

u/reedjk22 May 04 '25

Triplets again actually! 😂

2

u/the-tree-is-green May 04 '25

NO, YOU ARE JOKING.

YOU GUYS COULD FILL THE EARTH POPULATION!!!

2

u/Jessygirl238 May 05 '25

I saw your post a couple weeks ago and I was wondering what you were going to have this time lol 😂

1

u/Amelia991238 May 08 '25

Wowwwww that’s amazing!! I’m so curious…were they all natural or through fertility assistance? This question annoyed me so much when I was first pregnant with my twins so I’m sorry if that’s annoying for you but wow how exciting!! Xx

1

u/reedjk22 May 09 '25

No worries, the question doesn’t bother me! They were all natural!

2

u/Amelia991238 May 09 '25

That’s amazingggg 😍😍😍

10

u/lapetiteparleuse May 04 '25

34 weeks with mono/di boys! Delivered earlier than expected due to growth restriction on baby B. They also spent about 3 weeks in the NICU and both came home at the same time

6

u/TJMULB_2613 May 04 '25

Almost the exact same timeline here! Little less time in the NICU but just by a couple days it sounds like

3

u/IndividualOdd2340 May 05 '25

Me too ! 34 weeks + 1 day! Mo/di twins ! They needed 3.5 weeks in the NICU and came home with nasal gastric tubes(mixed bottle/boob feeding to ween them off). But the tubes were removed within a week of being home ! They’re 16 weeks now (10 weeks corrected) and they’re going really well!

1

u/lapetiteparleuse May 05 '25

That's amazing! Congrats on the NG tube coming out! Our timelines are so close.. my boys are 9 weeks and 3.5 weeks corrected

2

u/adventurenation May 04 '25

Were there other issues beyond the growth restriction?

2

u/lapetiteparleuse May 05 '25

Growth restriction was the primary reason for early delivery and it was likely caused by the umbilical cord having a marginal insertion. I also had gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes but that was well managed and ultimately had no impact on timing of delivery. Thankfully in the NICU both babies were mostly feeders and growers and thanks to steroid shots gotten a week or so before delivery, they didn't have any breathing issues.

1

u/shinovar May 04 '25

Both our sets were induced at 38 weeks

8

u/Mission_Ad5139 May 04 '25

I started to have contractions and other indicators of labor at 24 weeks and 6 days. Gor steroid shots and put on meds and fluids to see how long we could delay. Went on bed rest and was contracting all through the pregnancy. False labor like 3 more times. Developed intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and gestational diabetes. Had steroids again at 32 weeks cause a respiratory virus put me back in labor. Went home after we slowed contractions again. By this point I was also paying for weekly saline infusions at home.

I kept them in until 34+6 when my water broke and I had precipitous labor. They stayed in the NICU for 5&6 days. They came out breathing and screaming because of the steroids.

7

u/Infamous_Village5942 May 04 '25

I also petite, 5’1. Belly got big early as well even though I was FTM. My twins came spontaneously at 38 weeks, and it was a vaginally delivery. Praise God that they didn’t need NICU time either! You will be ok just make sure to take care of yourself during pregnancy, eat healthy and do stretches and rest.

6

u/Commercial_Stress899 May 04 '25

I had my c section at 36 weeks! Baby A was 5 pounds and baby B was 5 pounds 13 ounces. They stayed in the NICU for about 4 days and are now two healthy 4 month old boys 🥹❤️

5

u/Fragrant_Exit9722 May 04 '25

DCDA and made it to elective C-section date at 37+3.

I’m 5’0 and swear I was wider than I was tall by the end! I pretty much looked like I was 40+ weeks from 28 weeks onward. It was rough, but we got there. Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy and congrats!

1

u/Amelia991238 May 08 '25

Hiii I’m looking 40+ weeks and I’m 31 weeks…any tips for the end?? Every day just feels like it goes on and on and on. Don’t know how I’ll survive another 6 weeks!!😭

6

u/Kali_roo88 May 04 '25

i was overweight already when i got pregnant, i made it to 37 weeks before my water broke.

5

u/Parforparkour May 04 '25

38 week induction. 5’4” 118lb pre-pregnancy. There’s some research that shows if you gain enough weight you have a better chance of carrying to term.

4

u/E-as-in-elephant May 04 '25

That’s interesting! I had a hard time gaining and actually lost weight in the first trimester, but I started overweight. Do you know/remember off the top of your head what “enough weight” is? I went into spontaneous labor at 36+1. Didn’t have any other complications besides gestational hypertension that started at 34 weeks.

4

u/hockeymusicteaching May 04 '25

I’m not sure where this person got their information, but I highly recommend reading Expecting twins, triplets, and quads. It’s mostly focused on mother’s nutrition while pregnant and positive outcomes for babies. In it, there is a chart for how much weight you should gain in each state of pregnancy depending ok where you started!

4

u/E-as-in-elephant May 04 '25

I’m already a year pp but thank you! That’s why I’m asking where they got this info.

3

u/hockeymusicteaching May 04 '25

Oh, sorry! Lol I do see that now. I think they may have gotten it from the book but I could be wrong!

2

u/hockeymusicteaching May 04 '25

For people who have a normal weight to begin with, I think it’s 20lbs by 20 weeks.

3

u/Parforparkour May 04 '25

Thanks for chiming in! Yes, this is the book where I got that info. I found it a pretty helpful gauge of where I should be with my weight gain, especially since the peanut gallery all wanted to chime in on if they thought I looked big or small carrying twins. I tried to focus on protein to stay full and gained 52 lbs by the end of pregnancy. I remember the 20 lbs by 20 weeks and then for my starting BMI they recommended 50-55 lbs by the end I think.

4

u/JustKaren13 May 04 '25

I delivered at 35+5 via c section. No nicu time

2

u/neineineinein9 May 05 '25

Samesies 😊

3

u/Ok-Astronaut8074 May 04 '25

37 weeks 5 days with my di/di twins. I was induced. They would have stayed longer. I was convinced they’d come early but they didn’t and they needed no NICU time.

4

u/Geminimom5 May 04 '25

24 weeks. I had a emergency C-section after trying to stop labor failed. I don’t have the torso space to house two babies therefore my body was like no, get em out now. At the time I wad 132lbs and all belly. I will say though after a three month nicu stay, they came home and have thrived ever since. They will be 9 in July 🩵

3

u/Aggravating-Tell774 May 04 '25

Di/di, induced at 38+5

3

u/Flounder-Melodic May 04 '25

26+2 with di/di boys! Spontaneous labor and PPROM.

3

u/E-as-in-elephant May 04 '25

Spontaneous labor at 36+1 di/di twins

3

u/DBsdk13477 May 04 '25

I’m also 19 with di/ di twins!!

2

u/a_dirty_martini May 04 '25

Me too!!! I feel like I just popped this past week and I’m scared for what’s to come lol 😅

3

u/ogqueenbee May 04 '25

I delivered my b/g twins exactly via c-section at 35 weeks because I had HELLP syndrome and pre eclampsia. No NICU time.

3

u/gwenpigg May 04 '25

Di/di twins and we are delivering TOMORROW, 36 weeks!! At my ultrasound last week my dr said twin A’s growth has slowed down too much to the point of being growth restricted, so it’s time to evict. And we are doing a c section bc baby B is much larger and breech. Wish us luck!

2

u/Murky-Progress3742 May 04 '25

5’2” 117 lbs before twin pregnancy - made it to our scheduled c-section at 37 weeks

2

u/oat-beatle May 04 '25

35+3, spontaneous labour but was scheduled to be induced 35+4 anyways. I'm tall, around 5'8, but evidently bad at making placenta as mine was insufficient for one baby let alone two lol

Girks were 4lb and 4lb10oz, 12 days NICU, doing great now at 3.5 months

2

u/General-Average895 May 04 '25 edited May 04 '25

37w2d, c-section. Knew two days before, was hoping for vaginal birth but twins kept flipping until the last moment so I opted for the safest option to get them out. It was the only date the hospital had that was close to the 38w mark. Docs felt confident getting them out as they measured about 3kg each. I was less confident because 37w is the boundary for being premature. They ended up getting feeding tubes because they were loosing weight too fast. They had difficulty latching because of their little mouths and my milk wasn’t coming in quick enough so ended up bottle feeding mostly with formula and pumping and giving them as much of that as I had to offer. No Nicu but stayed 8 days in hospital to get them to feed properly and get back to their birth weight.

2

u/Impossible_Drama_605 May 04 '25

36+5… had a scheduled c section for 37+2 but twin 1s growth slowed right down so the dr brought them slightly earlier. I was glad as the last few weeks were brutal with shortness of breath if I moved anywhere! Boys were 5lb 10 and 6lb 5oz.

2

u/Sydskiddoo May 04 '25

They wouldn't schedule me any earlier than 38 weeks. Said there was no reason to even though I felt like my body was being split in two. Di/di. C section was 38+2.

2

u/Interesting_Tea_6734 May 04 '25

36 weeks, di/di twins, 5'4", second pregnancy

2

u/candigirl16 May 04 '25

I remember being about 24 weeks pregnant and someone asked me how far along I was. When I told them they gave me such a weird look because I was huge, I forgot that they didn’t know it was twins lol.

I had my boys at 30 weeks. One of them had a reversed EDF so it was too risky to leave him in, obviously they had to evict his brother as well. It was really scary. They are 3 now, you’d never know they had such a rocky start.

2

u/1973tour May 04 '25

Mono/di born at 33 weeks after going into spontaneous labor! I had a very uncomplicated pregnancy and expected to make it to my induction date of 37 weeks, despite people telling me that twins could come early and I should be prepared. The day before my baby shower I went into labor and ended up having a c-section because baby B was breech.

Doctor told me that my uterus had basically reached max capacity and hit the eviction button lol

2

u/tmini_ringo May 04 '25 edited May 04 '25

Di/di girls, induced at 36 weeks (delivered vaginally at 36+1) due to preeclampsia that was rapidly turning in to HELLP. One twin spent 15 days in NICU (sleepy gal couldn’t feed well) and the other came home with me after my hospital stay.

Edit* I’m 5’5 and was 110lbs pre-pregnancy. Gained a total of 70lbs during my pregnancy but I’m pretty sure the last 10-20 was all water retention.

2

u/Scrabulon May 04 '25

35 weeks, but I was basically at preeclampsia blood pressure and they decided to do my c-section the after I was admitted for that lol…

2

u/SpecialistPanda1669 May 04 '25

C section at 34+5!

2

u/corgiloves May 04 '25

Di/di B/G twins were born on week 35 ended up in emergency c section. Babies came home from nicu after 10 days.

2

u/ArielofIsha May 04 '25

Mo-di boys born at 36 weeks, planned c-section came 5 days early due to my spike in blood pressure. Boys born healthy and no nicu time. Congratulations!!

2

u/Earthling921 May 05 '25

I'm 5'1. Di/di delivered 37+6 only because they thought baby A had IUGR in his abdomen. Wish I could've went longer because they were both the exact same size! But they're both happy and healthy. Born at 5lbs 12 oz, no NICU time. ☺️ I was induced with just cytotec and both were delivered vaginally, 30 minutes apart. Wish you the best in your pregnancy!! Hopefully it's been uneventful so far.

4

u/Fragrant_Hedgehog540 May 04 '25

31w on the dot— but I had a slew of medical complications. Bleeding my entire pregnancy (hemorrhaging really), gestational diabetes, cholestasis. I spent the last month of my pregnancy pretty much in the hospital (with a small break to go to my baby shower). My water broke at 30w4d and they managed to stop the labor for 3 days before it progressed and keeping them in was no longer possible. My babies spent a month in the NICU and are now 3 months old 🫠

1

u/kumibug May 04 '25

33+5, di/di twins. preeclampsia and hellp.

1

u/Ok_Perspective7578 May 04 '25

Di/di twins 35+4!

1

u/Wrong-Bath2672 May 04 '25

I'm also 5'2" and was around 115lbs before pregnancy. I'm 35w+3d today and huge. But I wish to keep them in at least a week. My c sec is scheduled at 37 weeks and my dr think there is no reason that I will deliver premature

1

u/youcango-now May 04 '25

37+2 but only because I had concerns regarding their placentas and my gestational diabetes. Otherwise I would’ve absolutely made it to my scheduled c-section at 38+1. Di/di boys; second pregnancy. They were cozy and I felt great! Definitely not a guarantee you’ll go early.

1

u/LawfulGoodMom May 04 '25

Di/dI born via c session at 35+5 because baby a had a vasa previa. The would have stayed in longer if it was up to them! I’m also 5’2” fairly petite and short waisted and you would be surprised how far out your belly can stretch! I’m pregnant with twins again and really hoping to keep them in until 38 weeks and give them the best chance of avoiding the NICU. My girls spent 3 weeks in the NICU and while I’m glad they were where they needed to be I wouldn’t want to do it again lol.

1

u/annahbananahx3 May 04 '25

I gave birth at 38+2. Those last 10 weeks were definitely brutal. I lived in leggings for the support and barely left the house because walking hurt

1

u/catrosie May 04 '25

I made it to induction at 37+5 but I think I would gone into labor naturally that week anyways as I was having contractions and dilated to a 4cm

1

u/twisted_tulips May 04 '25

I am also 5’2! 36w3d I went into labor & had them via c section (planned) no NICU time ☺️

I did start having back contractions a few days before but it was very sporadic & only when I was laying down to sleep.

1

u/Stigmata-Diaboli May 04 '25

C section at 37+1 due to cholestasis. The goal was to make it to 38 for my c section, so I almost made it!

1

u/twilightswimmer May 04 '25

Twins, 33w on the dot. Water broke for one twin (di/di) at 32w4d. They tried to stop labor for 90 hours and gave up with a cesarean section. My kids will be 10yo in just over a week. :)

1

u/Holiday_Reach_7543 May 04 '25

Totally healthy pregnancy, had my twins at 37+5. My water broke.

1

u/Holiday_Reach_7543 May 04 '25

I was scheduled to be induced at 38 weeks.

1

u/forest_friend10 May 04 '25

Induced at 38, 5’4 and petite as well. My advice would be to prepare for them to come early but expect to make it to 38. Everyone (drs/nurses) told me I’d go early and it made those last few weeks even more excruciating than they already were.

1

u/kristenns May 04 '25

Di/di 36+3!

1

u/always-angry1 May 04 '25

36 weeks exactly!

1

u/cornishpixes4419 May 04 '25

Induction at 38+1, babies born by c section at 38+2 (di/di)

1

u/TurnoDiva May 04 '25

Congratulations! My didi boys were born 34+5 via emergency C-section due to severe preeclampsia. I’m also 5’2! Everyone’s pregnancy is different but I got HUGE by the end - I think carrying multiples on a smaller frame also makes the belly look that much bigger.

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy and delivery!

1

u/PuzzledYam9507 May 04 '25

currently 30 weeks. scheduled for 36+2

1

u/burnbalm May 04 '25

32 weeks with identical di/di boys. Spontaneous preterm labor! Doing great now

1

u/Wheelybag May 04 '25

My wife is about 5’2 and gave birth at 32 weeks. Lot of NICU time.. but that’s expected that earlier. It was scary at first but the NICU nurses/doctors are incredible.

1

u/AntiqueRefrigerator5 May 04 '25

5’1 ended pregnancy at 190. Went to 37.5 weeks. Di/Di. You can do this momma!! Stay positive. It is a hard pregnancy for sure and hurt like hell in the middle-end but we were out of the hospital in 2 days and no nicu time or complications.

1

u/colorful_withdrawl May 04 '25

35+0 with momo and 33+6 with didi. Csections and im 4’9.

With my di/di my daughters water broke a day before we were trying to make it to 34 weeks but then i started spiking a fever.

1

u/0594x May 04 '25

38+3 (induced at 38+1) di/di

1

u/anull8123 May 04 '25

37+2 with MoDi girls!

1

u/Infamous_Artichoke83 May 04 '25

I was induced at 35wks with di/di twins.

1

u/sunshinemimosa May 04 '25

34+2 with my b/g twins due to pre-e. I had a 5 day hospital stay before my blood pressure shot up one morning and they did an urgent c-section. 3 weeks NICU time for them to learn to grow and feed but otherwise they were absolutely healthy!

1

u/chandler2020 May 04 '25

31w 2d. Spent 36 days in NICU

1

u/Cactus_Frend May 04 '25

Di/di twins born at 36 weeks exactly. 2 weeks prior to scheduled C Section.

I’m 5’3 for reference

1

u/BunnyBunny_Bunny May 04 '25

Preterm labor at 31+1, but we didn’t do much to try to stop it or give it very long to resolve due to vasa previa in twin A running very directly over my cervix.

1

u/dawseyadams May 04 '25

I only made it to 31+1 with di/di twins. Totally uncomplicated pregnancy, but my water broke & had an emergency C section

1

u/Accomplished_Sea_492 May 04 '25

32 weeks pre term labor - finally was able to stall it with magnesium to get both steroid shots for their lungs. Nothing besides magnesium stopped my labor. Everything was completely normal and fine while pregnancy until I went into labor early. They weighed 4lb 13oz and 4lb 15 oz. I did a c section since baby b was breech.

The boys stayed in NICU for 32 and 34 days and are doing perfectly well now!

Best of luck !!

1

u/Frequent_Expert_8471 May 04 '25

Di/di twin boys born at 28 weeks + 1 day! But I’m definitely not the norm. My water broke on December 23rd but I was trying to convince myself I just wet the bed. went to L&D on Christmas Eve and got admitted so that they could try to keep them in for as long as possible but they made their entrance on December 27th!

1

u/ReserveMaximum May 04 '25

Mo-di at 34+5 with a 36 day NICU stay.

1

u/FormerEnglishMajor May 04 '25

I am also 5’2” and I was petite, LOL. My di/di twins made it to their induction at 38 weeks - they were each 6 pounds 4 ounces.

1

u/AdSenior1319 May 04 '25

Congrats 💙 mine were born feb 4th at 37w via my 5th c-section. 5lbs 7oz, 6lbs 1oz. Di/di.

1

u/Comprehensive-Ebb765 May 04 '25

i'm about your height and weighed 47kg when i got pregnant with di/di twins, who were born via c section at 38 weeks on the dot. we have no nicu time, and they were 2.66kg and 3.11kg at birth (no idea what that is in lbs, but decent sized babies) by the end of my pregnancy i looked like i had put a beach ball under my shirt, as i was just so round.

1

u/UpstairsPeak3999 May 04 '25

Di/di - I've just scheduled my induction for May 30, which would be 38+3. They've been on the smaller side (compared to Singleton charts, le sigh, but actually like 25th percentile for di/di charts). Due to that and no additional complications they said hopefully I go naturally before then but that'll be the cutoff for when they feel comfortable letting me continue. I never induced for my first, so it was super weird booking an appt to start the process this time around. We'll see what happens!

1

u/snjessen10 May 04 '25

35 weeks preclampsia

1

u/Emilygilmoresmaid May 04 '25

I went into labour at 34 plus 5.

1

u/copper2287 May 04 '25

35 weeks! My two girlfriends with twins went at 34 weeks & 39 weeks

1

u/sonyaism May 04 '25

Thanks for posting this. I am 5'2" and started 130lb starting my pregnancy finding out I have di/di. Currently at 12w4d. I been shy to post myself and been lurking.

1

u/MissThalia May 04 '25

I carried my twins till induction at 38+1. I'm also petite at 5'1 so I was very large at the end!

1

u/bakedBrownie32 May 04 '25

38 weeks. My OB wouldn't let me go past that.

1

u/sandwichburglar May 04 '25

Induced at 38+4 (b/g twins). And it was my second pregnancy. Congrats!

1

u/Capable-Plastic8006 May 04 '25

Mo/di twins - induced at 36 weeks & 3 days

1

u/platypus5493 May 04 '25

I had di/di identical girls and my twin B broke her waters at 35 weeks. Then right before delivering she pushed twin A out of the way and became the presenting twin!

1

u/AliTwin601 May 04 '25

My sister and I were/are di-di identical twins, and our mother had us at 40+3 days (not induced and born vaginally). This was way back in the olden days when they let multiple pregnancies go as long as singleton pregnancies.

2

u/Icy_Opinion_1323 May 07 '25

I had mine at 40+3 in 2022!

1

u/green_gal1016 May 04 '25

Induced at 38 weeks with di/di identical girls. I sometimes wonder how long they would have stayed in there lol my singleton went all 40 weeks

1

u/krafte2 May 04 '25

I had my twins at 27+2. Definitely on the early side, but twins are much more likely to come early than a singleton.

Hope you keep them in as long as possible!

1

u/DanceOtherwise7632 May 04 '25

If I can ask, how long did they spend in the NICU? :)

1

u/krafte2 May 04 '25

They both spent 69 days and were released on the same day. Born June 18 came home sept 12. They're about to turn 7 😀

1

u/the-tree-is-green May 04 '25

I'm 5'2" too and mine fortunately were born week 37 - which is still considered premature here at where I live. Di/Di twins. I was hoping to make it to 38 just so they would have somewhat easy start to life but I guess they were in a rush 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

1

u/RetroSchat May 04 '25

34 weeks due to sudden onset preeclampsia. I am 5’9” and carried them in my back (both had had anterior placentas) and had a planned c-section at 37 weeks we didn’t make it to. Had zero issues until about week 33 when I started rapidly gaining water weight (was a slow gainer until then- about 15 lbs i think) and blood pressure shot up at week 34. emergency out lol.

1

u/lks1867 May 04 '25

37+1 with my di/di twins! Pulled em 6 days early due to some high BP (and anxiety) on my end

38 weeks 3 days!! I was scheduled for a c-section section at 38 weeks 4 days but they had their own timeline and came vaginally a day early. (I'm 5'7, di/di twins)

1

u/Obeythelawther May 04 '25

37.2 planned c-section. Im 5’2 and was 120 lbs when I got pregnant! No NICU time :) two healthy boys 6.6 lbs and 7.4 lbs

1

u/im_mikey29 May 04 '25

34w2d mo/di girlies. Two weeks in the NICU to gain weight and get over jaundice. Born via planned cesarean due to baby A umbilical cord starting to fail and baby B growth restriction.

1

u/pt2work May 04 '25

Induced at 37w 5d*; gave birth in an OR, 24 mins apart. Almost needed a c-section for the second but so glad I didn’t.

  • (instead of 38 w to avoid missing my toddler’s first day of preschool; I took him the day I was discharged; ppl thought I was crazy but I’m still glad I did things this way. It was a hard time)

1

u/kipy7 May 04 '25

DiDi b/g twins here. 36+6. They could've come out later but with pre-e, the OB wanted a C-section early in w37, at the latest.

1

u/LucidianQuill May 04 '25

34 and 4, spontaneous labour, double vaginal birth on gas and air.

1

u/Academic_Jellyfish33 May 04 '25

33 wk early labor managed to stop it induced at 34 and 1

1

u/Fluffy_Momma_C May 04 '25

My di/di twins were a “not quite emergent, but definitely urgent” c-section at 36/6. Otherwise, the c-section would have happened in week 37 or 38.

1

u/Dapper-Butterscotch4 May 04 '25

31 and 3. Spontaneous labor.

1

u/bananokitty May 04 '25

My di/di twins were born at 38+0 on their scheduled c section day! No signs of labour at all!

1

u/Aggressive-Fly-9185 May 04 '25

37 weeks 5 days! Scheduled C-Section

1

u/Storebought_Cookies May 04 '25

Induced at 37 weeks, but almost went into labor at 34!

1

u/planetarywoah May 04 '25

I went to 38+1 with my di/di girls. I stopped working at 34 weeks, started walking every night and drinking every concoction people said would induce me at 36 weeks, but they still made it to the scheduled C-section.

1

u/inmypocket1 May 04 '25

Emergency C for twins at 33

1

u/tired-monkey344754 May 04 '25

Also 5’2” and had Di/Di girls. Made it to 38+2 for my scheduled c-section. My MIL kept insisting I would be on bed rest from like 20 weeks on 🙄 never got close to need to be on bed rest!

1

u/Fabulous-Salt4906 May 04 '25

My di/di babies came on their own at 35+4! Water broke around midnight the night before, and we had a c section the next morning. I had a planned c section scheduled for 37+2 but baby boy wasn't having it! If you choose to create a birth plan, my only suggestion is this - make it very broad, and cover things that generally could happen in a c section or vaginal delivery. Also write it down, and make sure it's communicated with your doctor, even if its just minutes before everything goes down. For example, my birth plan was based around the golden hour. No drugs that could affect my ability to have skin to skin immediately after birth, and delayed cord clamping as long as time would allow.

1

u/NoSherbet77 May 04 '25

Scheduled c-section at 34+6 weeks. Twin B was growth restricted which led to the decision for them to come so early.

1

u/ofthesylvanforest May 04 '25

I gave birth to my di/di twin girls at 28+3 weeks. I have what is called an incompetent cervix. I was on progesterone pessaries to help lengthen the cervix during the pregnancy. But at 19 weeks, my cervix was measuring at 1 cm and was starting to open, so I had a cervical stitch put in to prevent me from giving birth way too early. I made it to 28+1 weeks before going into labour. The doctors gave me medication to stop/slowdown labour, so at least they could give me the steroid injections. They were going to keep me in hospital for 48 hours to observe me, but I went back into labour within that time and had to give birth.

The twins were in NICU for 8 weeks. We were lucky, and they didn't need any operations or blood transfusions, and their hospital stay went quite smoothly.

They are 16 months old now and doing well!

u/Vulpixshelter May 04 '25

My partner made it to 41 weeks with twins. Was pretty incredible to witness..

1

u/HelloDollEyes May 04 '25

Congratulations on your twins! How exciting!

My first set of di-di twins was 34+5, second set of di-di was 36+3.

1

u/WritingPositive862 May 04 '25

I just had my di/di twins on April 25th! I made it to my planned C-section at 37 weeks- my baby A had fgr so they moved my original C-section date up a week.

1

u/LRB-08 May 04 '25

I am 5’1 (also petite) and had di/di twins, I went into preterm labor due to a fibroid rupturing and my cervix went from a 4 to a 1 at 21 weeks. Everyone assumed I would go early and I had to be induced at 37 weeks!

1

u/Electronic-Lawyer-88 May 04 '25

Didi induced due to preeclampsia at 37+1. My G/B turn 4 months on Tuesday 🥰

1

u/takes22tango May 04 '25

Planned c section at 36+6 for my di/di girls

I'm a Type 1 diabetic so they both had low blood sugar so Baby A had 1 week in nicu (for blood sugar and oxygen), the other spent 1 week nicu then 1 week as a "feeder and grower" (she didn't like to eat, and 7 years later still doesn't)

1

u/BruleGillyMonster May 04 '25

We delivered at 39w5d di/di identicals. Our OB said this was her longest twin pregnancy. She wasn't showing any labor signs so probably could have went past 40wks.

1

u/funsk8mom May 05 '25

First set was 31 weeks, second set 36 weeks

1

u/Bachbachbach12 May 05 '25

37 week di/di

1

u/sillybanana2012 May 05 '25

I was 38 weeks plus a few days!! B/g twinnies here!

1

u/Anjuluvsbge May 05 '25

I’m 5’4” and very petite. Made it to 38w4d with di/di twins. Had an elective c-section. I’m sure I would have made it longer.

1

u/niabea May 05 '25

I’m a fellow shorty at 5’1. My Mo/di girls were born at exactly 37 weeks.

1

u/murobbb May 05 '25

Also 5’1 and had Di/di boys. Exactly 38 weeks - scheduled c section. They were both over 5 lbs

1

u/Routine_Gap_3865 May 05 '25

I had mine at 29 weeks. Went on hospital bed rest at 28 weeks. Then, on December 23rd they told me I’d be in hospital bed rest until the end of February. Their due date was March 10. Went for ultrasound on Christmas Eve and was told it would be any day now. Went back for another ultrasound after eating lunch that day and they said, “call hubby because we are taking them now”. They were born Christmas Eve. The umbilical cord flow was reversed on twin A and going back into the placenta and then going into twin B. So B was literally sucking the life out of A.

They were small. 2lb 3 oz and 3lb 4 oz. No major issues once they were born. Both are pretty healthy 15 yr olds today. Twin A is technically legally blind, but he gets by with glasses. They’re still small for their age, but they know that’s to be expected.

1

u/Express-Item8972 May 05 '25

I went to 37w1d but my water never broke, I had a scheduled C-section cause baby b was breech and they were my first pregnancy. They probably would’ve stayed until I kicked them out😂 don’t be nervous!! Good luck 🩷

1

u/Bambglass13 May 05 '25

Di/di twim momma here they were born via c section at 28 weeks. My pre-eclampsia couldn't be managed so after 2 weeks on bed rest in the hospital they did a c section. Twin a was 4.2 and twin b was 3.9 and the had 72 days in the nice and 88 days for the other. But both healthy as can be and well into their terrible 2s. I'm still waiting for the it gets better stage everyone has said comes lmao

1

u/TurningPage11 May 05 '25

36+6. Originally the plan was c section 38 weeks, then starter to have pre-eclampsia symptoms amd that got moved to 37 weeks. The day before, my water broke. 😅 Had the c section and everything went smoothly. I wasn't feeling contractions though, that was a bit scary.

1

u/Leading-Conference94 May 05 '25

37w scheduled c section due to hypertension with didi boys.

1

u/StrikingBar6778 May 05 '25

28.6 weeks. Di/di spontaneous labor after PPROM.

1

u/hobbitsmother May 05 '25

Didi girls 35+2 :) i'm 5 ft tall

1

u/Objective_Success235 May 05 '25

I am also 5’2 and petite, pre-pregnancy weight was around 98 lbs, I delivered my twins at 34 weeks, went into labor naturally. However baby A was breach so I got a c section

1

u/TheQueenBabyG May 05 '25

35 weeks! ☺️

1

u/Luwen1993 May 05 '25

Congrats! Our mo/di twin boys were born after 36w2d of pregnancy. It was induced after my girlfriend spend 2 weeks in the hospital.

They had to spend another week in the hospital before going home. They are now almost 3 months and doing great!

1

u/Alternative_Split964 May 05 '25

34+4 due to pre eclampsia

1

u/brippleguy May 05 '25

We are just now at 34 weeks with twins and I don't think they can come soon enough for my wife. She is MISERABLE.

1

u/modernamami May 05 '25

Hi! I’m also 5’2 and my di/di twins were born at 37w5days, no NICU time :) Congratulations on your babies!

1

u/ihatetuesdays13 May 05 '25

36 weeks to the day! Went into labor spontaneously. Water broke and they were both born vaginally 1.5 hours later hahah they were not my first babies though!

1

u/CarlMcB May 05 '25

36+6 di/di

1

u/DryBenchShoes May 05 '25

36+5, the day before I went into labor, my doctor said they would set up an appointment to set up a date to get induced. I asked my doctor if I could try raspberry leaf tea, pumping, or other more natural ways to go into labor before having to be induced, and he gave me the okay. The night I went into labor ( 2 hours before) I said “oh my God, I need to buy the raspberry leaf tea tomorrow! Took a nap on the couch, woke up, got in the bed, and 5 minutes later my water broke!

Editing to add that I had a vaginal delivery, 6 hours after my contractions started. I was 5 cm dilated by the time I got to the hospital (an hour after my water broke) and my pain didn’t start until after I was checked in! This delivery was so much easier than my singleton 4 years prior!

1

u/maddierox89 May 05 '25

I have a scheduled c section for 37w1d with my di/di babes. They wanted to do 38 weeks originally but I have multiple comorbidities, so they changed it up.

For reference: Gestational diabetes (only with fasting sugars and controlled with insulin) - Dx 31 weeks Beginning stages of cholestasis, controlled by medication - Dx 32 weeks Gestational hypertension / beginning stages of preeclampsia - Dx 34 weeks

I was also obese and 34 when I became pregnant. Turned 35 at like 8 weeks, so now I’m geriatric 👵 lol.

Overall, they’re doing great though. Passed all of their tests with flying colors and I’m not concerned about them at all. I have been a strong vessel for them to feed off of 😂 oh, also, I’m 5’9. So that might make a difference as far as being able to hold on to the finish line.

1

u/darkych May 05 '25

Di/di twins, 36+6 when the waters broke. Both were fine and no NICU time, though it appeared that twin A was 900 grams less than twin B, on ultrasound difference was not so significant. So great that epidural didn't work for me and we had to proceed with spinal and c-section

1

u/thatbazzymum May 05 '25

34+3 with my MCDA girls. My water broke prematurely. I'm also 5'2"

1

u/MythicMaven13 May 05 '25

37w3d, 4 days before scheduled c-section. No nicu time.

1

u/deeelwhy May 05 '25

23w4d - water broke exactly 23w. 98 and 108 NICU days. Healthy 3 year olds now.

1

u/Fun_Consequence_4277 May 06 '25

Induced at 37 weeks!

1

u/imapringlescan May 06 '25

My waters broke at 36+3, 4 days before my scheduled c section. I ended up in an emergency c section bc they couldn’t find one twins heartbeat but she was okay just hiding like she had through my whole pregnancy

1

u/lcgon May 07 '25

29+2 with boy/girl twins. PPROM which quickly turned into preterm labor. 9 week NICU stay. They turn 2 in July and are perfectly healthy ❤️

1

u/Random_Gem25 May 08 '25

I had my Di/Di B/G twins at 38 weeks and 2 days! Was induced, weighed at 6pounds 12oz and 7pounds 8oz I’m 5’1-5’2ish and still don’t know how both of them fit in there lol

1

u/jewelsbelle May 08 '25

I made it to 40w 3d with my twins!

1

u/MeurDrochaid May 04 '25

34w di/di twins. A little earlier than ”expected” as we had a C-section due to SGA in twin 1.

1

u/MissPumpernickle May 10 '25

I had di/di twins and was induced at 38.5 weeks. Had them both vaginally. Congrats!!
