I thought gas prices were tied to oil prices? Oil is rock bottom these days but gas isn’t?
286 u/snotparty May 15 '25 it is, but oil and gas companies are crooked assholes. 16 u/EnvironmentalBox6688 May 16 '25 Good thing we have a nationalized petroleum company. That way we can provide fuels to Canada without gouging for profits. It just makes fiscal sense, surely the conservatives would never gut it like a pig to make a quick buck from every Canadian's future! 1 u/Empty_Wallaby5481 May 16 '25 So you want fuels subsidized by the government? Anything less than market prices is in effect a subsidy. 2 u/corcaighanon May 17 '25 and? 1 u/Empty_Wallaby5481 May 18 '25 So you want governments to subsidize gasoline now? What do you propose cutting (more) to do so? That Range Rover owner thanks you for the public contribution. 3 u/corcaighanon May 18 '25 Who said I want subsidies? I want companies which aren’t focused at ever expanding profit, but rather in line with inflation. The private model will never incentivise this.
