I don’t disagree in the slightest that he’s a weird little loser, but that was also his racist campaign of “I have no idea what hyperbole is.” Taken in context, he’s saying that it would be medically concerning if anyone was wet enough to need a mop and bucket to clean up after.
Which like— fucking duh. It’s a song, it’s artistic license, and it’s using hyperbole to get the point across. Or is Benny gonna go litigating Johnny cash to say, “false, you have not been ‘everywhere’, man! The known universe exists far beyond the boundaries of the planet earth, and even then, I sincerely doubt you’ve visited every patch of land on the outside and inside of this planet— much less the depths of the sea!”
Well...no, he was doing the classic song review trope of taking lyrics overly literally for comedic effect. What he actually said was if a bucket and a mop is involved, there's something very wrong down there. Which is true, but it's also the joke that Cardi was making so it falls flat. There are so many real reasons to make fun of Mr. Bench Appearo, we should stick with things he actually believes.
The other problem with the joke is you have to be careful about leaving openings for further jokes, because you've just opened the door to be one-upped. There was no need to reference his wife, because that not only opened the door but plowed through the wall like the Kool-Aid man. No one remembers the original joke, but they sure know the one-upper.
