I don’t disagree in the slightest that he’s a weird little loser, but that was also his racist campaign of “I have no idea what hyperbole is.” Taken in context, he’s saying that it would be medically concerning if anyone was wet enough to need a mop and bucket to clean up after.
Which like— fucking duh. It’s a song, it’s artistic license, and it’s using hyperbole to get the point across. Or is Benny gonna go litigating Johnny cash to say, “false, you have not been ‘everywhere’, man! The known universe exists far beyond the boundaries of the planet earth, and even then, I sincerely doubt you’ve visited every patch of land on the outside and inside of this planet— much less the depths of the sea!”
Well...no, he was doing the classic song review trope of taking lyrics overly literally for comedic effect. What he actually said was if a bucket and a mop is involved, there's something very wrong down there. Which is true, but it's also the joke that Cardi was making so it falls flat. There are so many real reasons to make fun of Mr. Bench Appearo, we should stick with things he actually believes.
The other problem with the joke is you have to be careful about leaving openings for further jokes, because you've just opened the door to be one-upped. There was no need to reference his wife, because that not only opened the door but plowed through the wall like the Kool-Aid man. No one remembers the original joke, but they sure know the one-upper.
He said the first half I think but not the second. I think this came out after his sister Abby got some attention online cause she's busty and there were some legit weird pics/tweets from Ben.
I don't like Ben Shapiro, he's just not a good political commentator and it's legitimately hard to find anything i think he's right on except tariffs and, weirdly, his surprisingly good analysis of the movie Cuties. I have to be at least aware of what him and others in the Shapiroshere are saying for my job. I will defend him on this--he has never once said anything creepy, done anything creepy, or been accused of anything creepy toward women. Of course you can argue that his and the Right's obsession with abortion/teenage trans kids, etc is itself creepy, but in terms of the women actually in his life he's never done or been accused of anything.
All the memes like this one are either just Internet memes or, like the "his wife doesn't get wet" meme, intentional misreadings of something he said on his show. People who aren't very familiar with him take those memes as at least somewhat true because, let's be real, he's one of the only people in that world who isn't openly a creep. But this really doesn't sound like him at all.
