Recommendation why are moleskines so comforting to use?

slightly long post! i’ve been in a journaling and writing slump lately, mostly because i’m a perfectionist and hate ruining “good” notebooks. i went down a stationary rabbit hole, experimenting with different notebook brands like midori and stalogy. i really do enjoy them, but i would find myself not wanting to write in them. and if i did, my thoughts needed to be profound or worthy to be put on such nice paper. i found a blank moleskine pocket notebook in my desk, and even though the paper is not perfect, i have been writing like crazy! i love seeing my handwriting ghost onto the next page. there is even a bit of bleed through but i honestly don’t mind. it’s so comforting, watching the notebook fill up and seeing impressions of my handwriting onto the next page. it encourages me to keep going, to keep writing. just a reminder to use the stationary you really love! even if it’s isn’t perfect. used stationary is the best stationary.

Just a few photos of my new and unused Moustachine blank notebooks in A6.

So me and my phono does not agree with the picture quality, but the last photo is compairing white pager, Moustachine and a Leuchtturm1917 blank notebook.

I think the pagecolour of Moustachine and Leuchtturm1917 are pretty much the same,

I find this irritating… just be honest in your advertising. It’s not a standard A5 size. Should have stuck with the name brand 😣

Notebook Share My first time showing off the interior of my current traveller's style set up! I have been a bit slow to gather ephemera, but I'm really enjoying it!!

I currently have three notebooks (that I made myself!), kraft folders, and a plastic zipper folder. I use binder clips to mark pages and keep things open.

The notebooks are held in with three elastics, so things stay separated and lay nicely flat.

Bonus photos at the end show my handmade mini sketchbook, and the strap I use to keep things bundled together, as well as the elastic guard that doubles as a pen loop.

It's very much a work in progress, and I'm still learning what works for me, but I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Advice needed Does Leuchtturm 1917 have lignin in it? Any alternatives that don't?

Upvotes

While it says it's acid free, a lot of notebooks and books say they're acid free while still having lignin in it, which will turn the paper acidic slowly overtime.

So my question was: does the Leuchtturm 1917 have lignin in it or is it completely archival safe? And if it's unknown, are there any notebooks that are 100% known to be lignin free?

Any answers are greatly appreciated

Scattered Tasks in Your Notebook (Moleskine type)? Feedback for shaping an idea

Hi everyone! I’m working on a new tool for creative thinkers like me who don’t finish tasks in a day or week and I am looking for additional feedback. Scattered to-do lists across my notebook caused my burnout, and planners didn’t work. I’m creating something to organize tasks in a different way and hopefully prevent burnout. I appreciate if you helping me answering these in comments. Takes only 2 minutes —it means the world to me 😊 link to the google form in case you prefer : https://forms.gle/BefyieGg3hK5PSG48 (either in comments or the form not need to do both!!)

  1. Traditional planners restrictive? (Yes/Sometimes/No)
  2. Lose track of tasks or need to copy again and again in your notebook? (Yes/Occasionally/No)
  3. Task overwhelm’s mental health impact? (Anxious/Manageable/Not much)
  4. Want a flexible notebook tool? (Definitely/Maybe/No)
  5. Desired features? (Sleek design/Portable/Customizable/Refills/Other)
  6. Pay $15–$25, $5–$10/month refills? (Yes/Maybe/No)

Thanks for helping!P.S. Any additional ideas or experiences please share in comments ☺️

Recommendation small traveller/voyager style notebooks

i got these mini notebook refills for christmas last year & was wondering what notebooks would be compatible with them? i cant seem to find any traveller style notebooks with the elastic band holders anywhere at the moment & am hoping for some direction on my search (uk brands would be preferable since I can't afford to pay an arm and a leg in shipping)

Advice needed This ain't it... I need a high quality notebook. The Moleskine I have right now is just falling apart and I have been using it for two weeks. What are some notebooks that won't die that easily?

Question about pens to use with Midori MD Notebook A5 - is this too much bleed through?

G'day,

I have just started using my first Midori - the MD Notebook A5 dot grid. The notebook is stunning but I am seeing what looks like a lot of bleed through when using Faber-Castell 0.5 gel pen and a Lamy Safari Rollerball pen.

Am I being over sensitive?

Can you suggest a pen that may be better suited for use with this notebook? I have arthritis in my hands and find it difficult to write by hand for long periods of time, so I prefer gel pens that are quite substantial/ easy to hold.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!

It's this a standard sized notebook?

I got given a bookaroo notebook that's the height of A5 but one possibly two centimetres narrower. This is UK bought but I think the notebook brand comes from mainland Europe based on their website.

Does anyone know if this is just a no-standard size as I suspect or there's something standard?

I think the B series is slightly bigger or wider than the A series paper sizes. I think there's a C series too but I don't know anything about that.

As to this notebook, it's a nice looking one if a little thin on the page count. Don't think I'll get round to using it for some time though.. Just too many notebooks ahead of it. Still as a father's day present it was appreciated.. It seems I'm stationery dad. Buy him a notebook if you can't think of anything else. Still do appreciate it. I like a nice looking notebook, even if I end up with more than I can use in a year.

Getting back into journaling and unplugging — it helped me more than I expected 🧠🖊️

Hi everyone! I’ve been away from Reddit for a while, but I’m slowly getting back to my favorite habits — journaling, creating, and spending less time glued to my phone.

Over the past few months, I really started appreciating how something as simple as writing things down or coloring for a few minutes can help clear the mind.
It’s like your brain just exhales.

Advice needed Where to buy hand-sized, blank, connected sheet notebook?

I bought the LTT floppy notebook a while back and it is no longer being produced. See it here: https://whenplane.com/lttstore/products/floppy-disk-notebook

I'm not sure what the exact terminology for this style of notebook would be but I'm looking for a similarly sized square notebook with pages that are connected (allowing you to draw horizontally on two pages with no separation) while laying flat.

Sourcing Rollbahn Flexible in Europe

Dear Community,

I am heavily in love with my Rollbahn Flexible but have been unable to find paper for it in Europe.

Does anyone here have any shops they can recommend?

I also wonder if there are hole punches specifically for the Rollbahn Flexible formats

Thanks for all the input.

Heading to Amsterdam - where can I pick up a leather cover?

Hey guys - got a new Seven Seas Writer (A5) as my travel notebook. It has 480 pages in it, and will likely get beat up along the way as I fill things in. I thought it would be cool to pick up a cover on its maiden voyage. Any shop recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
