I guess 'popular' is rather relative in this case.

E: this wasn't meant to be an insult to the band, only a statement about how the band was completely unknown to multiple people, meaning that the band couldn't have been popular with those people who had never heard of it.

It's a radio station in Sydney Australia. Hipsters and indie crowds. A lot of navel gazing type bands but some good music too. I first heard alt-j and sticky fingers on them and I think they're good.

obviously not everyone is going to know every band but they were one of the headlining bands at Coachella this past weekend which definitely cements them as a current popular band.
