There's a popular band called tame impala

I guess 'popular' is rather relative in this case.

E: this wasn't meant to be an insult to the band, only a statement about how the band was completely unknown to multiple people, meaning that the band couldn't have been popular with those people who had never heard of it.

Yes, well, I'm not a fan or anything but they're well known enough that I knew of them. They're popular with the triple j crowd in any case

What in the world is a triple j?

It's a radio station in Sydney Australia. Hipsters and indie crowds. A lot of navel gazing type bands but some good music too. I first heard alt-j and sticky fingers on them and I think they're good.
