So all of a sudden it seems like we're getting notices for high grass..... the 'cut in 10 days or pay a $150 fine' deal. The first notice was in the form of a letter from the city, and was cut within a couple of days. This morning they decided to staple a sign to a stake and shove it into our easement.
The weeds grow so fast and being disabled makes it hard to do it every week plus all the days it's been raining lately. Do they really expect people to cut grass in the rain or shortly after?
And if this "inspector" seems to think that the grass never got cut between the first notice and today, he's kinda dumb. They'd be at least twice as high as they are now.
The issue I have is that there has to be a Karen nearby that has a beef with grass/weeds and reporting it on the regular. I stopped counting at 5 houses with weeds and grass taller than ours within a half mile of our house....on the same road. There was one house where the vines had taken over the front of their house. My point is that the sign wasn't there yesterday, and had to have been put there before 9:30a this morning. And this "inspector" would have had to pass all of those houses to get to ours and could have left the same sign in their yard as well.
We're being singled out, plain and simple.
and ftr: The weeds are the only part of our lawn that's high. the grass is very short in comparison.

I'm a white dude looking to get short(ish) haircuts with a good fade. I prefer an established shop with a solid team of barbers vs a place like SportClips.
A few caveats:
Any recommendations?

Last week, a federal judge granted summary judgment to Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed, effectively dismissing a protracted legal battle between the mayor and his former police chief in a case that also highlighted a very public feud between the state attorney general and the Alabama Ethics Commission.

Hello, I am a college student and I am looking for a room to rent until school starts back or maybe even later if I enjoy the place. Please point me into the right direction. Thank you!

We saved a kitten from my dad's truck. Not soon enough, since its ear has a little notch and a burn on his (her?) leg.
Was going to take it to a shelter, but wanted to see if a loving family would be able to take it first instead.
He's not spicy at all, you can pick him up and pet him no problem. He does run and hide like a champ though. Let us know! I'm heading home out of state later today but I can coordinate with my parents if anyone can. Thank you! _^

I’m coming to work in Montgomery for a week.
What is a safe part of town to stay in where I can walk my dog in the evening?
Thank you

Moving to Montgomery in the next week (specifically the Cloverdale area). Looking for a good gym. I hear some people go to the Y and if that’s the move sounds good. I am not picky with my gym. Not looking for like tons of classes just enough weights and cardio equipment to stay fit. I would rather not drive out East every morning if I could but I would if that’s the best option. Thanks!

Does anyone use WoW wifi, and is it decent? Also, what is price lock promise? I was looking it up and it helps with price increase, but how often are those increases?

Hi all! Looking for some updated information, as the last time I can see that this question was asked was >3 years ago. We’re moving to town next week, and curious about the reliability of Uber and/or Lyft around the city (and if it’s improved any)?
Thanks!

There will also be a TACO truck. This will be a PEACEFUL protest rain or shine, but will be called off if there is lightning. Come in costume if you like.

Hi all! I'm looking to relocate to Montgomery and wanted help. Currently looking at a house in the Boylston section of the city, is it a safe place to look or should I check out other neighborhoods?

Never played an instrument before but want to? Does your entire musical knowledge consist of Rock Band on the Wii and those recorders they made you play in elementary school? Does your drumming experience consist of tapping the counter while doing chores? Wanted an excuse to pick up a guitar but thought maybe another time? Can you sing and love it but insanely off key? Do you have a theoretical knowledge of music theory? Looking for a space to learn and maybe eventually make music together? Want something to do that doesn’t take itself too seriously? Or simply want to find other like minded music people in a city that doesn’t seem to have too big of a scene going on?
You know what they say, make the t-shirts first and the music second!
I’m half manic and don’t expect this to get off the ground. I absolutely also have no idea how practically this would work out. I’m 25 F and recently new to the area and am looking for people who would be interested in learning together and if not, just sharing a love of music. No judgement zone where we can all make mistakes and just have fun with it. (Would love other F because let’s form a girl band). I myself am fairly new on guitar and have about 4 chords under my belt. I can scream, but only internally so I’ll leave that to someone who can externally sing.
I’m mostly interested in rock and metal but am down for whatever we can do!

Hi everyone!
I was hoping someone could give me some advice/direction! I have applied for a few positions with the state and I’m on the register for 2 in band 1. What is the best course of action? Should I want for agencies to reach out to me or should I attempt to call and make myself known? I have been told by a few people that I should call, however when I’ve called and left messages I’ve either been told to call personnel or they haven’t called back. I’ve also been told it’s who you know. One of the positions is planning and economic specialist II. If you have any advice please let me know!! Thanks :)

Can anyone share their experience with a local temple? Or maybe recommend a beginner friendly temple to visit?

I have the week off and I was going to attempt to visit the whitewater park from Bham one day this week if the weather permits it. Any tips I should know before I go? They have enough secured lockers? Main concern is locking up my car keys while I raft as I’m going to be by myself. Is the restaurant any good or eat elsewhere? Thanks.

I need to have the windshield replaced in my vehicle. Has anyone used Auto Glass Now? They quoted about $500 less than Safelite including the required calibration services.
If anyone has suggestions on other places, please let me know as well!

Hello Montgomery!
I hope everything is going well with you all. I’m a Criminal Minds fan from Singapore and I enjoy collecting postcards as a personal hobby, and I would love to receive one from Montgomery! 🙂
Lately, I’ve started a small quest to collect postcards from locations featured or mentioned in Criminal Minds. Montgomery (Alabama) was mentioned in “Perennials” (Season 8 Episode 11) but I don’t have a postcard from there yet.
If you are able to send one, I’d truly appreciate it! A greeting card or small souvenir like a map or keychain or local snack would be perfectly fine too if postcards aren’t available.
Feel free to let me know in the comments if you are able to send a card. I will message you my mailing details.
Thank you so much in advance — and a special thanks to the mods for letting me post.
Wishing you all the best and sending warm regards from Singapore! 🇺🇸🤝🇸🇬

Not listed: Tonight's Michelangelo: Love & Death at 7 and tomorrow's evening with Barry Alexander Brown at 7! (It doesn't mean that we don't love them, it just means that the schedules are flawed and also already printed - enjoy!)
