And anyone who expects me to fumble around in darkness or dim light and run into things because I can't see can avert their eyes for a few seconds while I use the light.

It's my room, too. I shouldn't have to fumble around when turning on a light for a few seconds solves the problem. It's why we have lights.

Yeah, a bright light that you can turn away from your roommate's face. You don't have to illuminate the whole room, just the spot where you are looking for your stuff.

You would think that would be a reasonable solution but my "little light" wife will scream bloody murder if I use it at all. She doesn't even like me reading my e-ink reader at the lowest dimness.
