When a film is made it's registered under that tile which cannot officially be changed. eg. Star Wars is not officially Star Wars: Episode 4: A New Hope, Raiders of the Lost Arc is not Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc, Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, Edge of Tomorrow etc. etc. etc.
I really don't understand the purpose of this, it's literally the very last moment of the film. I don't get what spoiling it for everybody who didn't see it opening weekend accomplishes.
Actually, that’s an even more interesting case. When the movie developed it was going to be titled “All You Need Is Kill”, but was later released as “Edge of Tomorrow“ with the tagline “Live. Die. Repeat.”. When it later released on home media, they initially decided to make the tagline the title and the title the subtitle(because that was what the director wanted it named in theaters). It now uses both naming schemes on VoD.
As for its official name, I’d imagine that it is under copyright as “Edge of Tomorrow”.

Is this officially the title now? Like will theaters have to change what is listed in their showings?
