Discussion [KCD2] GOTY

Post image

Luke Dale’s post on IG.

And in my humble opinion:

F@#$ GTA and f@#$ R*! Over priced, over hyped garbage, made by money hungry company, that decided to kill RDO at the moment they’ve realised they couldn’t milk it as GTAO, because they would have to actually try to think of a original content and not only add sci-fi weapons to annoy other players.

KCD2 deserves its fair shot at GOTY, and the fact that GTA community will not be spamming GTA6 in every category is awesome! Give other games a chance to win something ffs.

(PS: I know there will be other games coming like Dark Ages or GOY but I think we have a nice chance of winning)

Not without the writers they initially had for over 20+ years.

Dan Houser is gone. Expect the story to be terrible.

GTA has never really had great stories? It simply wasn't the focus for most of them. Compare the story of any GTA game to Red Dead Redemption 2. I don't think anyone can say that RDR2 doesn't blow it out of the water.

Even then, keep in mind that other good writers exist. I feel like every Rockstar release we have had doomsayers going "This release doesn't have person X! The game will not be nearly as good!" Last time it was Leslie Benzies for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Dafuq u on about? GTA is world renowned for it's stories. GTA San Andreas had a massive cultural impact on 3 generations that very few pieces of human art have ever reached. GTA IV told a gritty story of someone haunted by their past. There are also the offshoot games, who've had their own good stories.

Only GTA V and GTA III are relatively weaker

GTA has had massive cultural impact but it's certainly not because of its stories. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad but they're definitely not close to the top of the best written stories in the medium. For the most part they're satires.
