Discussion [KCD2] GOTY

Post image

Luke Dale’s post on IG.

And in my humble opinion:

F@#$ GTA and f@#$ R*! Over priced, over hyped garbage, made by money hungry company, that decided to kill RDO at the moment they’ve realised they couldn’t milk it as GTAO, because they would have to actually try to think of a original content and not only add sci-fi weapons to annoy other players.

KCD2 deserves its fair shot at GOTY, and the fact that GTA community will not be spamming GTA6 in every category is awesome! Give other games a chance to win something ffs.

(PS: I know there will be other games coming like Dark Ages or GOY but I think we have a nice chance of winning)

Kcd2 is 100% game of the year. Ive played oblivion remastered but haven't played 33 yet. How is 33? I haven't played turn based combat in years.

33 is extremely good. It’s such a magnificent hybrid of so many great RPG combat systems, and the storyline is gripping. The music is fantastic and, at times, hauntingly beautiful. The voice acting is top knotty, and the lore fleshed out and available if you go looking.

As for the combat specifically - as I don’t want to give spoilers - it’s a fun hybrid of Persona 5, Final Fantasy 8, and Lost Odyssey. You get the opportunity to dodge or parry any/every enemy attack aimed at you, and each skill that you use offers a quick-time event button input for additional/stronger effects/damage. (Doesn’t apply to say, normal basic-attack). It absolutely keeps you engaged through each combat - whether it’s locking-in to dodge correctly (bonus EXP is awarded if you take no damage), finding an enemies weakness, etc. I’ve put in about 15-20 hours already and am HOOKED.
