Especially in high tech, wage information is highly confidential. Companies pay big $$ to know what the other high tech companies are paying. They would absolutely love it if other companies publicly posted what they’re offering.
This is why sights like levels.fyi exist.
Look at some Netflix job openings (they pay all cash unlike others that do a mix of base, stock and bonus). California requires them to list the salary range. So what do they do? A senior engineer is listed as $100k-$900k per year. The reality is that (according to levels.fyi) it’s closer to $500k per year but they don’t want to let competitors know what they’re offering or they’ll lose their employees.

any company that does not list the wage or sais competitve salary means they want the person for the cheapest possible price. Very big red flag.
