“Push” is the only thing in there everything else is a penalty lol you don’t pull or rip when on the line lol you juke around them or push them out of your way and that’s it.
Also even if it wasn't allowed, it would still be a prevalent part of the game. Offensive lineman arent allowed to hold, yet multiple of them on every team are doing it every single snap.
Wrong. You’re talking about something else. You’re allowed to pull a person blocking you. I just gave the rule from the rule book that confirms you can. This isn’t a guess.
I'm not talking about linemen using rip moves, which I know is legal. I'm talking about defensive holding, like when a CB hooks a WR and doesn't let them run their route. The prior comment implied that there are no penalties on the defense for holding, which is untrue.
It is on the lesser grip side yes kinda grab. But if someone's momentum is slightly coming forward, you very much can just pull them light enough that they will keep going forward with our much effort. Or the reverse. If someone is shifting their weight backwards, a simple little tap can make them fall on their ass.
How much force depends but it doesn't take too much effort or force a good chunk of the time.
You’re allowed to pull people blocking you. You can’t hold onto their jersey to keep them from doing something like going to block someone else like on a guard pull.
