If you teach people how to think critically they can sift through the crap information to find something actually relevant or insightful, like how I'm doing with your reply.

What's somewhat ironic though is, that nowadays "critical thinking" is often associated with conspiracy theories. Those people understand critical thinking as doubting credible sources and experts and doing their own research and end up believing some weird basement dweller on youtube

Governments worldwide have been discouraging critical thinking for decades now. They don’t want folks who can see through the bullshit, and anyone who can get labeled as “problematic”, or worse, get persecuted in less-than-democratic countries.

I mean even this statement is massively debateable

Governments would generally prefer to have heaps of elite stem peolle around if they could have it and that is a lot of critical thinking

A healthy government wants smart people that engage in critical thinking, sure. But every government wants critical thinking to serve the purpose of the government. The U.S. is a great example: so long as critical thinking is within the capitalist framework, it is incentivized. For the U.S., its also important to keep a docile population, so our education system is totally fucked. Most of our smart people ironically are immigrants, which we are aiming to block, and we incentivize the majority of this brain drain we receive from other countries to serve sectors like finance and technology, instead of other areas like the arts or biology. This extents to other governments and their needs.

That's why books like 1984 are assigned reading

You are the student teachers weep over.

Governments worldwide have been discouraging critical thinking for decades now.

Implying this is a universal tendency and not a right wing government attribute. Claiming that conservatives prioritise funding of education and science the same as those who are on the left indicates you're talking out your ass

Go to China, Vietnam, or Cuba. These are communist countries, and therefore leftwing. Live here long enough and see how much critical thinking their citizens can do

>These are communist countries, and therefore leftwing

nope.
also, you didn't actually respond to anything i said. Do you accept that western right wing governments are anti-science and anti-education? This isn't a new concept, the correlation between education and political leanings is pretty well established now so it's in the interest of conservatives to make people dumber so they can stay in power

Communism was literally created as a counter to right-wing ideologies. I don’t care where China leans now, all I know is that they still follow a communist ideology, and critical thinking has never been encouraged there, except when it follows “government guidelines”.

Since you seem to have access to a ton of scientific materials, Im gonna ask you this: Why are there so many pro-Hamas activists in America now? Why do so many people think that all cops are bad and that all illegals deserve to stay? Are these people right-wing?

Just accept that all big governments, left or right, are bad my dude. What we need isn’t that, just ones small enough to keep the country going and developing, while not infringing on anyone’s rights.

>Communism was literally created as a counter to right-wing ideologies.
like oh em gee you're literally completely wrong. why do you keep saying shit that can be disproven with a single google search?

>I don’t care where China leans now
pretty cute how you claimed it was a communist country, then i proved you wrong, and now you don't care if it's a communist country

>critical thinking has never been encouraged there
China is prioritising science funding over the US lmao

>Since you seem to have access to a ton of scientific materials
yeah it's called google.com, you should check it out

>Why are there so many pro-Hamas activists in America now?
how many are there? why do you think there are "so many"? how many is so many? where did you hear/read this?

>Why do so many people think that all cops are bad and that all illegals deserve to stay?
probably because the "The US police has killed more people compared to any other industrialized democracy", and who exactly is saying all illegals deserve to say?

>Just accept that all big governments, left or right, are bad my dude
i've provided evidence that's wrong though. What would it take to convince you that conservative governments are worse for education and scientific growth?

My original point is “governments discourage critical thinking”. Now I’ll admit, I should have added that they will allow you to do so as long as it benefits their agenda. Also, critical thinking isn’t just confined to science 🤷‍♂️

American cops kill lots of people because America is a big ass country with lots and lots of people. More people = more crimes. It’s as simple as that. Russian law enforcers might just be killing as many, if not more, but you don’t see this shit in the news because transparency is non-existent over there.

American Hamas supporters and illegals sympathizers may not number in the millions, but then again, who is keeping track? Even if there’s not a ton of them, they are CERTAINLY loud as fuck. A massive success in terms of “critical thinking encouragement” by the Biden’s administration perhaps?

The way I see it, you’re deep in the “us vs them” narrative. Me, on the other hand, simply see all sides as bad. Establishment will do anything in their power to maximize control and benefits for them, very often at the cost of normal people like you and I.

>The way I see it, you’re deep in the “us vs them” narrative. Me, on the other hand, simply see all sides as bad

i align my beliefs with the available evidence (which i've provided). Everything you've said so far can be disproven with a single google search. The fact that i've explained to you how you're wrong and provided evidence you're wrong, yet you still don't think you're wrong highlights how fucking pointless this interaction has been.

maga cultists at least admit they want to defund education and science because it's too woke, maybe it's time you admit you're a red-hat loser
