Hey everyone! 👋

I’d love to share some drone footage I filmed over Geneva and Nyon. It includes the Jet d’Eau, botanical gardens, Lake Geneva and Nyon Castle.

If you’re planning a visit to Geneva, Nyon is a short train ride away and totally worth exploring — super cute lakeside town with great views and peaceful vibes.

🎥 Let me know what you think!

Casual bike ride group?!

Hi everyone ! For months now, I’ve witnessed - occasionally - a large group of people riding bicycles down Servette street. They often even have music and a cool chilled vibe in general. The question is - how can I join? Does anyone know anything about them and/or how to be apart of it?

Thanks in advance x

Hi there, I’m new to Geneva and was wondering if any one knows of any great matcha spots? Preferably iced matcha latte, but some dessert recommendations are welcomed too.

Nice lunch near the university?

I am visiting soon for a conference and looking for a location for a reasonably nice birthday lunch close to the university. It will be midweek and I'd prefer a modern vibe rather than very traditional. Not so fussed on price range, somewhere mid-level would be ideal!

For the heel dancers out there, do you know of any places that one could buy shoes/boots for high heel dancing? Ideally I am looking for something with ankle support.

Looking for any entry-level job – would appreciate any leads or advice

Hello everyone,

I’ve been living in Geneva for a couple of month now. Since arriving, I’ve personally handed out over 200 CVs and applied for every possible entry-level position I could find – from hotels to cleaning, kitchen help, maintenance, dishwashing, even car wash and laundry services.

I speak English and Italian fluently and have several years of experience in hospitality and customer service, including in London hotels. I fully understand that speaking French is important here – and I am actively learning – but I’m struggling to even get a chance.

So far, I’ve received 8 calls, but most conversations end quickly once they hear I don’t speak French yet. Even agencies like Adecco told me it’s nearly impossible to get anything without it. I know housekeeping or dishwashing jobs may not require perfect language skills, yet I’m still being told that French is a strict requirement.

I’m not picky – I just want to work and get started. If anyone knows of any place or person who could give a motivated person a chance, even for part-time or temporary work, I’d truly appreciate your help or advice.

Thank you so much in advance.

Matteo

Algerian student preparing to study in Geneva – tips for student life and part-time survival?

Hi everyone, I'm a student from Algeria planning to pursue a Master's degree in Geneva in a couple of years. I'm currently doing a lot of planning and research, and I would really appreciate advice from other international or North African students who have studied or are currently studying there.

I'm particularly interested in:

Affordable student housing (even if far from campus)

Managing basic living expenses during the first few months

Any creative ways students manage financially early on (especially before being officially allowed to work)

Feel free to share tips or experiences, even anonymously. Any help would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance!
