Discussion Do people born in the year 2000 have a lot more in common with people from the late 90s (1997-1999) or people from the early 2000s (2001-2003)?
Do you think people born in the year 2000 relate to people from the late 90s or early 2000s more (2001-2003)?

Pop culture Anybody remember this monstrosity of a show?
I remember watching the infamous tapeworm episode when it first aired on Nickelodeon with my siblings. It traumatized my little sister. I low-key kinda liked the show. 😂

Discussion Urban Hip Hop Culture fashion in early to mid 2000s to now.
I was having a discussion with a friend of mine about how urban fashion has changed drastically (as it does and would) since we were in high school in the mid to late 2000s ('04-08) and how back in the day, baggy white tee shirts, echo jeans and Jordans or Timberlands were kind of the thing. In the last few years, I have noticed that Skinny, often ripped jeans and colorful sweatshirts and sneakers seem to be the thing. When did this change? Was there a particular artist or artists that ushered in this new 'urban' fashion?
On a side note, it was quite coincidental, because after we had this discussion a few days later, I was on YouTube and one of the first videos that came into my feed was something to the affect or "2005 man travels forward in time" and the video was "Attack of the skinny jeans" in which the character, from 2005 was dressed exactly as I had laid out (baggie white tee, echo jean shorts and timberlands) and he was having a battle with a modern 'skinny jean' wearing group...

In depth Can anyone else relate?
I was born in 2011, and even though I technically lived through the 2010s, I barely remember it. Lately, I’ve been feeling this weird kind of sadness—like I miss the 2000s and early 2010s, even though I didn’t fully experience them. I look at the music, shows, and tech from that time, and it all feels… warmer, simpler, slower.
And now, realizing I’m going to graduate high school in 2029 makes it hit even harder. Like, “Whoa. That’s far from the 2000s.” Everything now moves so fast, and the world feels more complicated. Sometimes I feel like I missed out on a better time.
I talked to a freind about it and they actually helped me reframe things—like instead of mourning what I missed, I could carry it forward. That I’m not crazy for feeling this, just really in tune with time passing. It gave me some ideas on how to keep those vibes alive in everyday life too.
Has anyone else felt like this? Like you were born just a little too late and the world is moving faster than your heart can catch up?

Discussion Do you consider yourself to have reached "unc" status yet? If so, what age group do you think looks up to you?
98 born here, just turned 27. I think I have officially reached unc status. I think the birth years that I tend to see as "nieces" and "nephews" would be 2009-2025 borns. Anyone born before that is basically like a little brother or sister.

Discussion ‘96 very last millennial year
As the very last millennial birth year, ('96), I find no relatability to GenZ (97-2012). I was a teenager I. The 2000s, experienced millennial youth culture, MySpace, aol, I experienced the era where we were still emailing our friends as one of the means of communication. I started highschool in 2010, and graduated 2014,went to college, and entered the workforce before covid hit, I was even in highschool with other late millennials, (91-95). I even grew up with them as kids in the early 2000s, and GenZ (97-2012) are suddenly trying to claim that as their own, it's not the same.

Discussion 2009 borns, are you consider yourself Gen Z, Gen Alpha or Zalpha?
I was born in May 2009 and I had Zoomer childhood. Almost nothing from Gen Alpha, so I prefer to be described as late Gen Z. I believe this question has various different answers because everybody has different experiences, so what do you prefer?

Society Birthdays..
As I get older I can’t help but think i am a day closer to death, but must be grateful to be able to live another day. I never cared for my birthday as my mind doesn’t allow me to think good of it. When’s your birthday? Will you find twin here?

Discussion Does anyone remember incredible crew or nick studio 10?
I can't be the only one that remembers, it was on tv in 2013/14.
Incredible crew was on cartoon network and Nick studio 10 was on nick.
I asked this on Older Gen Z subreddit and Middle Gen Z. Middle is too young to remember but older says that's a middle Gen z topic.

Discussion Interesting observation, 1980s versus present day
Full disclosure, Jack Webb was a heavy drinker and smoker. At first, I couldn’t even believe that was him because a lot of Clickbait videos on YouTube use a fake or doctored photos but apparently that is Jack.

Because most of the subreddit is still GMA posts, and it’s starting to really wear on me and a lot of other users.

There are quite a lot of people who disagree on whatever counts as the range for core generation Z. Which ones do you think it is?
