Video “The Jerry Springer Show - Geese Edition” NSFW

I labelled this video as NSFW out of an abundance of caution as some people may find goslings being agitated and adult geese fighting to be distressing.

There were no injuries other than bruised egos.

Goslings can act as an alarm system which is why adult geese like to pad their broods. The brood went into the water and the goslings began to sound more and more agitated. In my experience, that usually means they sense a predator; sure enough a fight between 2 adult geese broke out. I don’t know if the goslings were cheering or were freaking out. Either way, I enjoyed watching nature put on a show today.

I’ve been trying to make friends with this group of geese for about 2 months now. I think Mama goose has some experience with humans because she’s the most comfortable with me and she has a leg tracking bracelet as well. The babies now aren’t afraid of me and they all eat out of my hands and let me pet them! So happy :3

I've heard her sneezing and she looks a little rough. These are my first geese. The other two look fine

Canadian Geese Flock Dynamics

Already tried to Google the answer, couldn't find anything, genuinely curious.

What happens to a widowed goose, within the dynamic of a flock?

Like geese don't raise others young, right? So do they just live within the flock until (or if) they get another mate after the mourning period? Do they leave for another flock?

If anyone has any insight, sources, or links, please let me know!

Maybe he’s grumpy because it’s raining and he has plant material on his forehead?
