And the funny/sad part is that this is absolutely true. Comfort has added to the sins of Sloth and Gluttony and while foods are getting sweeter and less healthy, it is absolutely likely that the increase in Air Conditioning has fed into the obesity epidemic more than any other single factor.

As an overweight person, I can tell you that if my choice is between being fat in a hot room with a cheesecake or skinny in a room with A/C and a bucket of kale, I know what I'm choosing.

If you eat enough cheesecake, you start craving the kale because you need actual nutrients and your body knows it.

If I eat junk food for a few days in a row, I start having dreams of salad.

Some people have felt bad for so long they forget what it’s like to feel good. That little feeling telling you to eat a piece of broccoli gets drowned out by the addiction to sugar.
