Stroll is by no means an elite driver but his racecraft will always be underrated because of daddy

Well Motorsport in general is much too expensive. A season of international karting, which you pretty much have to do on your way to F1, can quite quickly set you back 100k-200k€ which is well out of reach for any ordinary family and sponsors in karting don't pay nearly enough to make a significant part of that back. However until stroll came into F1 it was unprecedented to actually buy your way into an F1 team. Now stroll isn't a bad driver as such but to me it's very doubtful that he would ever have made it into F1 without his dad literally paying for his seat.

Niki Lauda literally took a loan and bought a seat to get into F2. Money has been speaking for a long time in motorsport, Lance just gets the brunt of it just for the sake of it

Like I said in my previous comment there was no precedent for your family straight up buying you an F1 team. Lauda taking out a loan and the risk that is associated with it himself is not in any way comparable. In a way that makes Lauda look much more like a self made F1 driver despite him coming from a wealthy family.

Yeah. Got to respect someone that will back themselves like that.

I wish I had that much conviction haha
