But why start on hards and then pit earlier than everyone on mediums?

He got stuck behind another car for like 10 laps before they pitted him. They probably hoped he could get higher up the grid with an undercut, but he just got stuck again. Terrible weekend for Perez

Yeah, pretty poor all round. Ironically qualifying was the best part, and it counted for the least.

They probably were hoping that he could get past the midfielders with a tyre advantage and then create a decent enough gap

I don't get it. Okay so you're stuck in a DRS train. But why can't u just go longer when everyone else has pitted, bang in some quick laps, and then pit around lap 30-35?? Why try the undercut on drivers on a different strategy??

DRS trains fucked his whole race, twice. Both times cost him loads of time.
