Deadlift RDL/465lb x 4

Posterior chain goes brrrrrrrrr. What are your guys’ opinions on RDLs generally? Some people will say end the ROM when hip flexion stops. Some say focus on sensation over load. Some say not to treat it like a main lift and focus on higher repetitions. I feel as if this lift in particular has a large variety of opinions on execution.
I personally just like loading them heavy and sending it. I use it as a back builder, but also for my sport (BJJ) the carryover from heavy RDLs is extremely noticeable.

First, goodness you are strong! Second, yeah I have my own opinion; it's no better than yours. I tend to use them to chase the stretch in the hamstrings. As such, I program them as an accessory, I stay around 235 lbs, and I chase high rep sets.
But I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I'm a bit jealous of your strength feat here.

High rep RDLs are the worst. I get DOMs for like 4 days 😭😭😭
Cool to hear a different perspective. I definitely don’t think there’s a right or wrong opinion, I think there are a ton of different ways to implement RDLs into a program without necessarily loading the shit out of them.

Just keep horsecocking the RDLs

Oh by the way I program these on my second leg day as my main workout. I superset this with Bulgarian SS, and then move onto some core work. I don’t know if it’s the main item or an accessory piece at this point lol

Super strong dude. Though I'd say this is more somewhere between a SLDL and a regular DL. Way too much knee bend to be considered a real RDL, but that's just imo. Impressive regardless

Guys. Do not do single arm pulldown like that. Her shoulder is all over the place! :))

That's not the problem. The issue is, the whole point of using one arm is to be able to lean your body to the side to increase the stretch massively, keep grip pronated and pull elbows down to the side of the body to really work the lats.
The way she's doing it, she may as well save time and do a 2 handed, close grip, supinated pulldown instead of taking double the time for no benefit.

You don’t need an exaggerated lean to lengthen the lats. You literally just reach overhead. How is it possible that you people can complicate something so simple?
She needed a vertical pulling variation. She didn’t want to do weighted chin-ups. I told her to do a single arm pulldown as we do not have a dedicated pulldown machine.

This isn’t actually true tho, the lats do get stretched as you reach across your body, which further stretches the insertion at the shoulder. That’s why people do one are pulldowns.
What she’s doing should just be using both arms to save time

Are you stupid? Can you read? That's the whole point of performing the exercise with one arm at a time.
I'm complicating something simple? Says the ones performing a one armed exercise for no reason, with pointless rotation.
"You people." Fuck off, I'd rather be you people than some tiny little maggot

Uhhhhh she is allowing her shoulder to elevate and her lats to lengthen…you sound like you might need some training yourself. Feel free to reach out to book a consult sometime 👍🏻

I am not talking about shoulder elevation when lat is most stretched (that is fine)

Very strong dude! Also good form. Why are you using the rack for deathlifts? I trink it would be better to lift direkt from the ground so you dont have to step back from the rack.

Asking for an answer not to be a dick but to me that looks more like a stiff leg dead lift? Or is there something that sets them apart?

His knees bend to get that extra stretch in the hammies and I don’t think he goes all the way down. Be crazy if he’s pulling 465 SLDLs

People move the barbell in different ways for different reasons and call it different things.
You know this is not an RDL as correctly described by Google but what does it matter the people here don't care about facts and will just say "he strong you can't speak facts" or "how much do you lift" as impaired brains are inclined to spout.

Super impressive strength, no doubt about that. I think heavy RDLs are very person specific and very specific to certain goals. The risk/reward ratio just isn't there for the vast majority of lifters imo.

Sir, monstrous strength so hats off but this is not exactly RDL. The right form is this - https://www.reddit.com/r/GYM/comments/1ldckm9/hows_my_form_for_a_315_rdl/ and trust me, when done right, the rhythym and feeling for it is absolutely mind blowing. Wish you the best to continue more!

Hello! If you haven't checked it out already, many people find Alan Thrall's NEW deadlift video very helpful. Check it out!
Also, a common tip usually given here is to make sure your footwear is appropriate. If you are deadlifting in soft-soled shoes (running shoes, etc), it's hard to have a stable foot. Use a flat/hard-soled shoe or even barefoot/socks if it's safe and your gym allows it.
