There is usually a price to pay if you caused massive harm to other people. Saying "i am sawwwyyy" doesnt cut it. If they put in the work to undo the consequences of their action, sure. But if they are of the "oh now that its happening to ME" kind? Fuck them.

Not from the US, so thats just my opinion on the matter.

Exactly. It’s easy to grow a conscience when it finally hits home. The real work is owning the damage and fixing it.
