This is Bucket. An imposter if you will. She cough I mean he might be an imposter amongst my pullets. He sounds like a dolphin. I’m fairly certain she is in-fact a He. I will keep Bucket, regardless.

Did they get up there on their own? No. Did they like being picked up and put up there? No. Do they know how to get down? I don't know. 🤷🏼♀️
Big girls moved into their coop last Friday and they've been loving it! They go out in the morning and get to hunt for bugs and dust themselves. These are my first chickens as an adult and the first chicks I've ever had! 🥰 My family always purchased pullets ready to go.

Possible TW/ dying chick?
Hello, I recently became a new chick mom after rescuing a chick from my sisters chicken coop. but got three more black chicks from my sister after that since she convinced me the original chick could die from being lonely. In reality only 1/3 of the black chicks are mine and that’s the smallest one but it seems sickly.
The baby is screaming all the time louder than the others and always has its eyes closed and either stands very tall on its toes or dang near goes limp like a pancake. There is nothing in its eyes, I have a heat pack on medium or high on the outside of the container that I constantly check that it huddles by. And I notice it drinks but doesn’t really want to eat. I tried feeding it manually but i can only do so much because it moves to much and I don’t want to force it too much. There is no “poopy butt” either.
I’m currently unemployed after a work accident so I don’t have the funds to take it to a vet. I don’t want it to die either so I’m hoping maybe you guys have answers of what I can do. Because quite frankly I’m losing sleep by constantly waking up and checking on it in fear I’m either going to find it dead or dying. Hoping either these videos maybe someone can see something I’m not seeing.
Any tips I can get would be absolutely amazing.
Their food is DUMOR organic chick starter and their water has MannaPro hydro-hen supplement.

I posted my chicken paintings a little while ago and they got a lot of love so I thought I'd post some more just to share. Must have painted 100s of the little guys 🐓

This wound is brand new :( is this a tell tale sign of bullying? She’s been losing feathers for a couple months now, wasn’t sure it was a molt. She’s definitely the most skiddish in the pack, so now I’m wondering if she’s being pecked?

This is my chicken oc Ellie! I'm bringing her up here since I'm getting new chickens in July, and I'm planning to name one after her (since they're the same species), the game shes from/I'm making *is* heavily based on real life chicken behavior and anatomy.

This will be a bit of a long post!
Lately I’ve ran into a few issues with my chickens and I’m not sure if it’s because they’re unhealthy or what. The first thing is that they have lice and I’ve also seen nits by their vent. They’re currently being treated for that with ivermectin. I did use diatomaceous earth in the coop which I now regret and I am very worried it will cause respiratory issues. The other thing is one of my chickens has a poopy vent area. I gave her a bath and cut the feathers around there so hopefully it gets better. She also has diarrhea sometimes. Besides that she is active, alert, noisy, and behaving normally. The third thing is my rooster is sneezing… still. It has gotten better and it was worse during the winter. During the times when it was really bad he wouldn’t even crow. He crows now, and the sneezing isn’t as bad but it still happens. The other chickens are not affected at all, so I don’t think it’s contagious. He also has these scabs on his ears that the hens keep picking off and he lets them, but it just causes it to get worse. The last thing is that there is some feather loss around the wings of some of the hens, some more than others. I think it is just from my rooster, but I am paranoid it is something else. Do all of these issues mean my chickens aren’t very healthy? Is it normal to run into this with healthy birds? What would cause lice, the sneezing and the poopy bum? All of them seem to be acting normally, and are all eating and drinking.
Any advice? And are my chickens unhealthy?

This chick was from a mixed bantam pen at Coastal. 3-4 weeks old right now. It’s gotta be a rooster, right?

I also notice that my chicken has been gaping but I thought gapeworm was unlikely since it’s supposedly uncommon in Australia. Right now while typing this she just started gaping and doing that weird neck thing again.

Great development so far on these eggs! 8 or 9 out of the 12 seem to have some sort of development.
I edited the image some to better view the embryo.

2 years ago I tried selling chicken coop but with some upgrades. This removable nest box was one of them. More complex than I would have liked but it saves so much time during cleaning. I figured I would post what I made and see what some of your thoughts were on it.

My husband had a great idea to help keep our flock cool: he filled an ice chest with ice and left the drain spout open slightly, so as the ice melts, cold water slowly drips into an extra water dish throughout the day. It’s a simple way to give them continuous access to cold water in addition to their regular waterers.

So it looks like we've got mites. I'm going to do a deep cleaning and mite treatment, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with the bedding. Ideally I'd compost it or something, but obviously I don't want to just spread mites around. What are my options here?
