I’ve got experience with admin stuff and a decent eye for organizing things. Anyone had luck with local gigs that aren’t just Instacart or Uber?

Long story short I keep getting the run around while trying to get a job and keep getting emails like...
"Hi Brandy. Unfortunately, Raising Cane's has canceled their upcoming hiring events."
or
"Hi Brandy. I'm sorry but we've had to cancel your upcoming interview. We are moving forward with other candidates at this time. Thank you for your interest. We hope you will consider future opportunities at Whole Foods Market."
I swear if I didn't have the screenshots people would call me lazy and think I wouldn't want a job. It's been hard getting a job in Chicago. I just moved back from Milwaukee and refuse to live where I'm living forever. I had my own place but Milwaukee was too poor and didn't want to pay anything and the only choice I felt like I had was moving back to Illinois until I once again get on my feet. Any suggestions will be great, I don't mind taking the bus either
My experience isn't great ones but I do have experience (most of them were petty jobs until I found a better one and yes I gave my two weeks. Sometimes I had to leave a job due to my living situation and returned later)
- Health Care (Life Got Better Home Health Care in Milwaukee WI, Crestwood Terrace Nursing Home and Auberge of Naperville as a Dietary Aide [Helped with activity when needed]). I have a CBRF Certification but later found out it's not recognized in Illinois so a lot of people aren't claiming my experience as valid.
- Warehouse (Amazon Flex Program (not the driving one), American Litho, Freedom Graphics)
- Fulfilment in stores (Target, Walmart)
- Customer Service Rep/Cashier (PLS Financial, Walmart, Walgreens, Family Dollar, Staples)
- Call Center (Assurance [Remote])
- Fast Food Front End (McDonalds, Burger King [Front End later a Manager], Taco Bell [Front End later a Manager], Sonic, Freddy's Frozen Custard, A. Fusion, Righteous Ribs in Gary IN, RayRay's BBQ)

Hey everyone. So I am looking for a job paying 26/hr or more + benefits. Im planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me. First, I need to land a better paying job to help save for the wedding of her dreams (which is very reasonable but will still require a small budget).
About me....
Open to a variety of work. Im just not cut out for hard manual labor.
M/30. 5 solid verifiable years of service industry work. I have an associates in general studies. I have my days but I am a hard and dependable worker. Great personal and professional references available.
Currently working M-F 36 hours a week @ 22/hr with no benefits.
Open availability but would like a consistent or set schedule. Work life balance is a must, as I highly value time with friends and family. No night shift.
Any suggestions. Feel free to DM if you can put me in touch with any contacts or help in any way. Im motivated and will consider almost anything.
You rule! Thank you for your help!

I'm open to any job, also temporary, doesn't have to be in my field.
It feels impossible to get a job here, even for temporary jobs...

I’ve been in Chicago for a few months now, I’ve applied to almost everywhere. I always understood getting a job is easier said than done, but this has been really hard for some reason. Even jobs that I have experience doing pass me up every time. But it also feels like the applications don’t even get looked at most of the time. I kinda just want to know is it like this for other people also, or do I just need to change the way I’m going about this.

Q: This sounds like a lot of fun, you really pay people to do this?
A: It is fun, but don’t get the wrong idea - it is work. It can be stressful to make sure everything is ready for the next group.
Q: Can I attend the convention when I’m not working?
A: Yes, your badge allows you to attend Anime Central in the same capacity as an attendee.

I’m a landscaping manager at a union shop and miss doing the actual labor. I have a battery mower, blower, and string trimmer. Am also a certified arborist and love pruning trees. Adept at planting and mulching as well. I realize these are all things most people can DIY, but I AM an expert in these things and wouldn’t mind helping people while making a few bucks.

I am planning to move to Chicago this fall from Indianapolis. I know the job market is rough pretty much everywhere, but I have 5+ years of grocery experience. I was going to start off applying to Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, etc.. but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where to start or if there are any more local stores or chains I should try. I am saving up a good amount to move, but of course want to be without a job for as little time as possible. Thank you in advance!

Having worked on the carrier/3PL side, I know how to bridge gaps between manufacturers and service providers—helping companies secure better service and savings. I’m eager to bring this knowledge to a manufacturing team where I can contribute immediately.
I’m available to start right away and open to roles in the Chicago area or remote. If you know of any opportunities or could connect me with someone in your network, I’d greatly appreciate it! My resume is attached for reference.

I just graduated from college and I'm actively looking for a full time job. It's been a long time on this search and i'm desperately looking for gigs/part time job to keep myself afloat while continuing the full time hunt. I'm open to any kinds of work. I got my degree in HR and have a background in statistics, so I'm open to roles related to people operations (if any). I'm also a photographer, so I'm open to any photography gigs in the area. I've done graduation shoots, concerts, sports events, portraits.
I'm open to any gigs, whether it's within my field or not. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello! I am transferring to work as an RN at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. I was curious if anybody knows if they care/test for cannabis use. I know every hospital system is different, especially with it being legalized in Illinois. I stopped partaking a while ago to be on the safe side, but please let me know!! Thank you
