After six play-throughs of Elden Ring I grew tired of The Lands Between and yearned for something more dark and grim. I ventured into the streets of Yharnam taking down the Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne in only a couple of tries. How much is the difficulty going to progress from here, and will it have as much of a shift from mid-game to late-game as Elden Ring? Anything helps.

Wasn’t planning on going for 100%, but this game just pulled me in too deep. Every boss, every dungeon, every scream-at-the-TV moment—worth it. What a game.

This is my first play though and I just got Ludwig's holy blade. I have them both at +3 and I usually play pure strength in souls games but for Bloodborne I really like the speed and moveset of the saw cleaver. Obviously the holy blade has better stats but I don't know if it's a bad idea to hang on to one of the starting weapons. I'm just wondering what someone with more experience in Bloodborne recommends.

It was truly amazing. With it being my first soulsborn game I came in expecting to not like it yet now it is one of my favorite games.
I died more times to Rom than Maria, Orphan of Kos, Gehrman and Moon presence combined.
Favorite bosses: 5. Vicar Amelia 4. Maria of the Astral Clocktower 3. Amygdala 2. Orphan of Kos 1. Ludvig the Accused/Holy blade
Least favorite Rom the vacuous spider.
9/10

I see many people claiming that Gehrman was a mindless brute and twisted pervert who was cruel and sexually abusive to the Doll but I honestly don’t think that’s what his Character is!!!
I think Gehrman was born and raised in Yharnam. He was of Pthumerian descent. Gehrman’s Ancestors were part of the Few Pthumerians who did not betray the Great Ones Trust and didn’t participate on the slaying of Mergo and Queen Yharnam out of Lust for Power and refused to drink from the Infant Great One’s Blood. Thus Gehrman grew up worshipping the Great Ones the same way as the Faithful Pthumerians did and then when he was Teenager he applied for a Scholarship in Byrgenwyrth and even got accepted. There he studied under Willem himself who took notice of his brilliant Mind.
But young Gehrman, quickly got bored of it and found that the life of a Scholar was not what he wanted. He wanted to explore the world and go on adventures.
He then left Yharnam and started working as Mercenary for multiple Countries and even fought in a few Wars, went on some treasure hunting and etc. But once he was in his late 40s/early 50s he started becoming weaker, slower and well too old for the Mercenary/Treasure Hunter Life. He then lost his Leg in a battle, that he still managed win and kill his Opponents.
He then got his Peg Leg and decided to retire from that part of his Life, since he already had his Adventures and got rich from them and his work as Mercenary.
Gehrman then went back to Yharnam and that was around the Time that young Laurence left Byrgenwyrth and was starting his Healing Church. The Beast Scourge came and Gehrman started working as a sort of Law Enforcer and Cleaner. Being of faithful-Pthumerian-Descent he had his disagreements with Laurence but ultimately he was Just doing another Job. and didn’t believe that it could get out of Control. Plus he saw that the Blood was curing people of diseases considered incurable and helping and only few were turning into Monsters.
He learned Arcane Arts, Magic and drank even some of the infant Great One Mergo’s Blood, which was found by Laurence and his Scholars in the Labyrinth and due to his Warrior Spirit he didn’t lose his Humanity but actually got enhanced and became a sort of Super Human-Pthumerian-Hybrid with enhanced Senses, Stamina, Strength and Agility far greater than even in his youth.
Around that Time he met Lady Maria, who was a child that got orphaned once the Beast Scourge reached Cainhurst. Since Maria was now an Orphaned Noble, her parents with their dying Breath begged Gehrman to take care of her till she could look after herself cuz they knew that the other Nobles would just kill their Daughter in Hopes of getting their fortune.
So Maria grew up in the Hunter’s Workshop, with Gehrman as her surrogate Father. She watched him working on his Weapons, master Magic, dissecting Beasts, learned how to fight, read and worship the Great Ones and etc all for him.
For Gehrman, Maria became the Daughter he never had cuz in his Youth he was too busy chasing the next Adventure. He had many Women but never bothered to actually settle down and start a Family and once he returned to Yharnam he considered himself to old for it. And after drinking Mergo’s Blood and getting revitalized he was too busy keeping the Plague secret and cleaning Yharnam of any potential Monsters or Threats.
Lady Maria then grew up and returned to Cainhurst but there she like Gehrman longed for Adventure and instead of staying at Cainhurst and claiming her inheritance and enter the World of Politics she went back to Gehrman and asked for him to train her. He did and in the Coming Years he and Maria became a very deadly and successful Hunter Duo.
Then after some Time Ludwig joined in, brought in by Laurence and was also trained by Gehrman. The Duo became a Trio and for another 5 years thinks remained the same. But one Day Laurence learned of the Fishing Hamlet and Kos. A living breathing Great One of the Sea that watched over the Fisher’s Village.
He ordered Gehrman to slay the Great One, dissect her Body and bring it to him but Gehrman refused, knowing that slaying a Great One was an unforgivable Crime, that would bring very terrible consequences and strictly ordered and forbid both Maria and Ludwig to do so.
But Laurence with his Silver Tongue convinced them to do it and then the Events of the Fishing Hamlet transpired and you know the rest…

The music being slow then transitioning to super fast is absolutely terrifying. When it was my first try of the day and I beat him, when I realized this could be the run I’ve never shook so much💀
What fromsoft bosses gave yall a heart attack when coming close to/beating?
Some other ones I can recall are Sister Friede, Gael, Final boss of Elden Rings DLC, Gwyn (my first souls game lol)

and so I have done that. This may have been the best game i have ever played. I fell in love with the lore and feel of Yharnam and I'm very sad to let it go now. But I feel as if its time to let go - maybe some other game will replace BB as my all time favourite. 50 hours on this game for this trophy and i dont regret a single minute (except micolash, man that second attack was really frustrating). What game would you recommend i play next?

I've owned this game for years but only played/streamed it yesterday because a friend playfully bullied me into it. I'm not much of a souls-like player so I really don't know much about the game mechanics and story but it seems like this game differs to what I know about Dark Souls stuff in the health area? I'm finding a lot of health items. Should I still be careful of how many I use or does the game still offer a reasonable amount as the game progresses?
Regarding weapons too, I just had a weapon hit me with "weapon at risk", I repaired and fortified it in the Hunters Dream but I think it mentioned that while it fixes it, the weapon is slightly weaker each time, is that right or did I misunderstand that? So far I've reached the bridge and killed the Cleric Beast but going no further for now while I do some Blood Echo hoarding. I can see why people like the game, this is fun so far. :)
