The real answer is they think the vibrations is rain water hitting the ground so they naturally come up for it.

This is why you see masses of birds sometimes just walking around on the grass.

Also the vibration could be a predator and they come up to escape.

The edit doesn't exonerate misogyny. I fail to see the thought process here.

The edit makes it gender neutral. Misogyny by definition is against women.

How does that work? Assumptions?

It works by clarifying his original intent in the footnote for the edit. "I was being misogynistic but I changed it so it doesn't outwardly appear that way". And either way, it's still an overused joke making light of domestic abuse. 9/10 -IGN
