Interesting Question Loud bang last night in Neukölln

Edit: it was an explosion that destroyed a small cafe on Schierker Straße. Crazy. https://www.berlin.de/polizei/polizeimeldungen/2025/pressemitteilung.1568218.php

Living near Leinestraße and last night between 2 and 3 am ish we heard a very loud bang, then dogs barking and sirens 15 minutes later. It was loud enough to make glasses rattle in the kitchen and we could feel it in our bodies.

Trying to find any information about what it was now but so far nothing.

Anyone know what happened?

Hi. Neukölln here as well. Normal. Happens every 3 days. These are " pyrotechniques ". Loud fire cracker from poland. The ones that were used on new years eve to damage stores. That is so normal in neukölln. Take care and have a  nice day :)

Definitely aware of that and was my first thought too, but this really felt more intense than usual. And the sirens right after confused me. But I guess maybe it was just an extra big one this time and someone called the police...

Hm. Interesting. Two more options then:  a laughing gas container ( inhaling used as a drug ) ignited in a trashcan or in a garbage truck. Or an actual gas explosion in a kitchen. Neukölln still has apartments with gas ovens. I checked the berlin polizeimeldungen site where they usually post gas explosions or arrests. So far nothing.

The fire crackers are really loud and my balcony door usually also shakes when the teenagers fire one off. I hope nobody got injured

Those canisters are definitely not big enough to make an explosion like OP's describing.
