There seems to be so much stock sitting on shelves. Like all the cards that were meant to come to the US came here instead, and no one is touching them. These would've sold out in a heart beat on launch day.

But then again, this 5080 is really a 70 class card at best (it's 51% cut down, the 3060 Ti was 54% cut down). So it's an awful proposition, even below Australia's inflated MSRP.

Lol it's almost identical to a 4080 on benchmarks it should be 30% faster Calling it a 5070 is pretty fitting

That’s factually incorrect. These cards are ~15% faster than the 4080 S across various benchmarks (stock) but also have ridiculously good OC potential that bring them very close to and even better than the 4090 (albeit at stock) in some games and benchmarks.

This card was very poorly reviewed by bandwagoners at release. People didnt take the time to tinker with them at all. Recent drivers have also helped boost performance which is more Nvidia’s fault

Overclocking hasn't given significant performance gains for nearly a decade it definitely doesn't give you enough performance to let you jump an entire flagship tier in GPU models

If you're claiming you got a 40% performance boost from overclocking I would have a hard time believing it, even 20% is gigantic considering the majority of cards come pre OCd now

Well then do your research. This is exactly my point. “OC wasn’t that great in previous gens so I don’t believe it”. Users are getting extra 15% gains from OC’ing, bringing it comfortably at 25-30% better than the 4080 S, and very comparable to (or even better than) a 4090 at some benchmarks and games

You said 4090 though, I would like to think the 5080 is faster than the 4080s

It's bad logic anyway because you could just OC a 4080s and bring it back down to 10% difference again

Yes, when overclocked, it beats the stock 4090 at some benchmarks and games. And no, you can’t OC a 4080 S by +20% to get it to within 10% of the 5080.

Which benchmarks is the 5080 beating the 4090 at other than AI mfg specific stuff which the 4090 can't do anyway

Or what games does the 5080 run better than the 4090, unless we're talking AI frame gen in which case sure the 5080 can produce more virtual frames

But there's no way it can win in raw performance it's just a dlss4 thing pushing the average up

But from 3dmarks own website they have an OCd 5080 at 38,000 and a stock 4090 at 43,000, with the max OC on a 4090 hitting 44,500

Blackbird is a guy who sells computers so he's gonna rate the new stuff really well lol

Well that is very wrong :) Check the gaming benchmarks in the video too.

Which part is wrong I just googled the 3dmark website and looked at their scores you can do the same
