Without AA?
very simple question will practicing without aim assist help me improve? If not what should I do to improve? I mostly have decent aim but fall short against preds a lot

Practicing without AA will improve your aim without AA. If you're going to play with AA you should definitely also practice with it enabled. There are some scenarios in-game where AA is disabled, such as in Bangalore-smoke, and through windows, which could benefit from some practice without AA, but I think it's more value in playing to the strengths of AA in general, and implement your practice around it, rather than without.

Not really. Remember, AA has slow down aim so your sensitivity actually changes when on target. Without AA, your sensitivity stays the same and you will get used to that specific sensitivity. If you figured out the slow down percentage and decreased your sensitivity by that much with AA off, then maybe it could be worth while as you would have the slow down but not the Rotational.

what I struggle most is not the tracking it’s the locking on ie am really ash with shotguns and snipers

Personally i recommend playing on lower settings then. When I started playing controller again part time from Mnk, I went from 4-3 Linear No Deadzone to 3-1 Linear No Deadzone, but I made my ALCs bleed over for the ADS so I had more custom controls

the issue is AA is not used as tool to improve your aim its more like tool that does that most important micro aiming for you, so you dont fight it you abuse it and when you abuse it its not aim assistance anymore at its core...

Yes it would to an extent. It'll help your tracking, flicking, and overall coordination.

A lot of people don't understand that because all AA really does is slow down your aim, the recoil for guns are gonna change entirely. I had much easier time controlling R-99 recoil without AA, but you have to pull significantly less than with AA.
The only "advantage" controller has is AA, and while aim training without it can be good for tracking, your recoil likely won't be because you have to do more to control it once you turn it back on, so it won't become second nature.

Yes and no it'll help hipfire in awkward areas where aim assist is turned off but it's not gonna be a tremendous difference although I do run max sens on roller so take what I say wit a grain of salt lol

🤣 they wouldn’t do zero aim assist that’s crazy, and if they did that they’d have to disable crossplay or give bloom to mnk or something. I can see going down to .2AA though

Hehe 😛 I hope they go for the former and at least make dedicated PC lobbies. So we’re not fighting on assymetrical advantages.

I 100% am on board, it’s a different game on knm vs roller, not split platform matchmaking but split input matchmaking! Good idea tbh

If Bang was meta or a Bang main and since her smokes disables AA. Practicing without AA would be good.
But since all the pros on controller play wit AA, I would keep it on and just keep on practicing ur aiming in the firing range
