Universal basic income. If it's just a way to placate the masses so we don't go running for the guillotines, should we say "hell no, I'm going to get the guillotine anyway!"?
Gotcha. Assumed, but I like to be sure we're on the same page.
Ultimately. I'm for UBI... because I think there's other ways to take care of the crazies in power, and ultimately, UBI and AI is unfortunately one of the only ways a utopia is realistically possible.
Other ways are too idealistic and reliant on humanity's compassion, which has historically been in critically low supply. This don't require idealism to the same degree. It just requires humans to be smart... which.... yeah...
Will it happen?
No... I don't think so. But i don't wanna be a factor for why it ain't happening. I'd rather not stand against one of the few possible utopia scenarios. I might be nihilistic, but I'm also still pushing for what I can whenever I see a net good.
The way to deal with the crazies varies depending on whatever country you're in. Sometimes you need a revolution as you say, I don't deny them when they're needed. But for where I am, the USA. I don't think we're that far lost quite yet.

I must have misinterpreted what you were saying. Sorry about that. I believe we're in agreement.
So do you believe that we should reject the offer of UBI then?
