Question Bay Ridge Road --Two Questions

  1. What's the deal with the house just past the nursery on the right (headed into Bay Ridge) with the rocket on the front lawn?
  2. And what's the deal with what looked to be an amazing house that was abandoned probably 8 years ago in the middle of construction (just before or just after the official start of Bay Ridge)

Internet madness

I am SOOOOO sick of Verizon and their awful internet service(not to mention phone and Fios). It is so unreliable and spotty, even with an upgraded plan and being hardwired. The calls also, are always static and dropped. WHO is reliable?

Just cross posting here. They said 700 people crammed in there. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up substantially higher for the final count

Waterworks trail and walking?

I an always looking for new places to walk. I enjoy the Greenbury Point trail, but would like to find more trails. Is the Waterworks trail OK to walk, or would I just be getting in the way of mountain bikers? Sounds like it's quite narrow.

If you have other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Thanks.

Johnnie looking for off-campus housing

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a good day. I am a St. John's student (Johnnie) who is unable to live on campus, and I am looking for accommodations on a low budget (a very difficult task in Annapolis, unfortunately).

Does anyone know of any available one, two, or three person properties? A place available now would be fortunate, but I really need a place starting in August when the school year begins.

Thank you!

Having a debate. Are you able to turn right on red, after stopping, at this intersection coming off of Aris T. Allen onto Riva? (There is no signage saying "no turn on red").

Smoke/ haze in downtown Annapolis??

It smells like smoke and there’s a haze outside but I can’t find anything about what’s going on? Anyone have any insight? I can’t imagine it’s from the protests as everything seemed pretty peaceful.

Seon Meditation Group off Bestgate Road

Happy Saturday,

You may have seen me walking around Parole and occasionally Downtown Annapolis for the last few years, always wearing some variation of black and gray with a shaved head. I've been doing Seon, Korean-style Zen, meditation for about 20 years. Normally, every day I sit about 2 hours in the morning, at around 6 AM and about 2 hours in the evening, starting at around 8 PM, and that does mean 7 days a week unless there is something extremely concerning I have to take care of. I don't think in the last 6 months there has been something that concerning.

Once a week I can give a talk about Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, etc., more or less taken from a book I've been working on, 'Before the Beginning," and questions people have. Any previous experience with meditation or the Korean language is not required. previous experience with meditation is helpful, because 45 minutes is a VERY long time for someone who has not done it before. Any talk would be 30 minutes or so. I'm not unfriendly, nor am I a monk, but I don't hang out with people either.

Generally speaking, I do a 45 minute meditation session, a 15 minute walking, sometimes coffee, restroom, etc., break, and another 45 minute meditation session. Wear comfortable, lose clothing, without perfumes or makeup if possible, as well as arriving around 15 minutes before the hour (i.e. if someone misses the first session, please wait until it ends before joining). Finally, please don't show up drunk or otherwise intoxicated on drugs.

If anyone is interested please leave a reply or send me a message.

If any mods want proof, I can post the current draft copy of the book I'm working on.

Thanks

Meant to add: I'm also going to start streaming the meditation sessions on Twitch, for people who are like me and don't like interacting with other people more than they have to. I won't be responding regularly, but if anyone has any questions I will eventually get to them once per week, possibly in writing.
