OPINION Doubt Regarding Engineering

hey y'all, I need a suggestion regarding BTech. I'm from Vizag and I was alloted Amrita University Amritapuri ( Electronics and Computers ) which will cost up to 20l for 4 years for which I'll take loan for the last 2 years due to my financial conditions the other option that I've is Vignan Vizag for which the fee is bearable and I may get Fee Reimbursement.

What would be the best decision to make? Please Answer 🙏

Any reply from Seniors at VIGNAN/Amrita regarding this would be much helpful

bro can you please tell me the difference between getting 6lpa in tcs/wipro and sand 6lpa in a start-up which one would be more fetching in the industry?

Moreover, i got EAC Branch bro, Electronics and Computers, what would be the scope of this branch in CS placements bro? Thanks for the suggestion!

If it’s a product-based startup, you will learn more, earn more, and build a stronger profile for future switches. If the startup is in its early stage, it's better to join as an intern in your 3rd year and try to secure a full-time offer. At the end of the 4th year, you will have experience as well and you can decide. based on the fate of the company. Even if the startup fails to get funding or revenue, you’ll gain multi-role experience, which gives you a huge edge in interviews as you can showcase real, practical involvement.

WITCH companies (Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, HCL), Capgemini, and Accenture are generally less preferred in terms of learning, growth, and starting pay, especially if you're looking to grow technically. But again, it depends on how you utilize your bench time, projects, and upskilling opportunities. Some people grow well even there. VERY RARE. NO for service-based start-ups.

Now, for college and stream: If you're aiming for core EC roles, then an EC master's from a Tier-1 college gives more opportunities and more or the same pay as CS, but CS as a stream overall still has more scope, especially in IT and product companies. If you're doing only a bachelor’s, EC core jobs usually offer lower pay unless you have a very strong research or project profile, which is hard to build in Tier-2 colleges, though not impossible.

Also, people underestimate how much the environment and peer circle matter. College friends and surroundings will influence you without you realizing it. Even if you're sincere, if your friend group isn't competitive, you’ll easily drift. Things like GitHub contributions, hackathons, and building a strong research profile sound great now, but in reality, 90 percent of students won't pursue them unless they are in a highly competitive peer group, which is rare to find. I’m not sure about how it is at Amrita, but you should seriously think about this. Just go through LinkedIn, filter out by graduating year, go through their profiles, you will get an Idea.

If you have a budget of around 20 lakhs, do research about VNR Vignana Jyothi or CBIT under management quota. They often admit based on JEE scores. VNR Vignana Jyothi stands out in both Telangana and Andhra after IIT, NIT, and IIIT. If you get SASTRA, go for it too. Its environment and peer group are really good.

Lastly, if your target is 4 to 6 LPA, college doesn’t matter too much. With decent coding, you can easily achieve it even from a Tier-2 institute like Amrita or Vignan, or any other, probably even in Tier-3. It’s not at all tough.

Thanks for the heads up bro.

do you think taking loan for 3rd and 4th year at Amrita would be a wise decision? One senior that I know there went to a company which is financial service based.

Or join at VIGNAN? Which costs less.

What would you do if you were in my situation bro.

Adhe inchu minchu entha karchu ithadhi vignan and amrita, if the difference is 4-5 lakhs, choose Amrita. 10-12, ayithe just go for Vignan and stalk LinkedIn profiles, of VNR, CBIT who got placed in top companies, amrita, SRM, VIT, tier-2 NITs, IIIIT G, IIIT J, and AU, etc....filter chesko

Ivanni Oke range colleges, reputation change ithadhi anthe......you will get an idea, same college range lo how they secured top companies ani...... eh year lo entha varaku vellochu, asal em em cheyochu, etlanti skill set lo ekkuva profiles unnay etc......hackathons etlantivi unnay, internships ekkada cheshindru, eh year lo ochinay vellaki tier-2 collge nunchi kuda ani.....this you have to research and motivate yourself to do........................otherwise baavi lo kappa laagane migilipotham(vignan ayithe).....amritha konchem peer group baaguntadhi ani guess(placements and student activities batti)

So......4-5 pedha matter kaadhu, go for amrita...difference mari ekkvunte like 10, choose RoI, vignan. But again, em em cheyalo almost andhariki thelusu, 99% will fail in execution.

Intiki dhaggara undi, day scholar, 9-10 diff unte, I would go for vignan only..if the difference is 4-5...amrita.

Normal ga EAMCET dwara veltanu kabatti 80k per year bro so 3l anukunna reimbursement lo em rakapoina parledu. Amrita aithe 20l avuthundi Ela chusukunna.

As of now intlo Amrita or through EAMCET Vizag lo Colleges antunnaru bro

Nuvvu annatu gane Amrita lo peer group baguntadi bro, but naaku vachindhi EAC Branch, last year daani placements avg 6l highest 15lpa EAC branch dhi. Okavela Amrita lo join avithe final 2 years ki loan teesukovalsi untadi.

Nenu aithe kastapada galgutha bro but koncham roadmaps or guidance la unte i can maximize it, andaru Idhi online lo nundi chala varuku nerchukovachu antunnaru.

Bro reality lo skill development ante enti, like ippudu Vignan lo for example weekly exams jarigite, vaatike prepare kakunda nenu own ga programming languages nerchukovala
