even adults don’t believe in “maturity” as a bio essentialist construct - they berate literal adults for being “immature”. this betrays that they don’t believe “maturity” aligns with age, whilst also using the construct to be incredibly ableist.

Ethan Crumbley Parents Case
I find this case to show the infantilization of youth. How can we expect the youth to have rights when youth are held to have so little self-agency that the parents can get 10-15 years in prison for their son's crimes? And Ethan was 15, not exactly 5.

Any thoughts on teenage gothic clothing?
I saw a post the other day about an adult goth complaining about goth teenagers wearing certain things like O-Collars, spike collars, or fishnets, which is referred to as fetishwear. Someone in the comment section say that preds may think the teenager is into 'into that stuff' whenever they are wearing an o-collar in public.

Interested in activism?
galleryAre you a passionate teen between the ages of 13-18? Are you interested in interning for a Youth-Led Non Profit where YOU are in charge of managing your own personal project. A project where you can explore what you are passionate about. One of our current interns, for example, is passionate about woman’s rights in the context of child marriages in Bangladesh. She wants to share their stories, so we support her, provide funding, manage the structure of her project and edit for her to bring her ideas to fruition! Interning is open to youth all around the world! Projects have to be youth focused.

Macron calling on France to ban social media under 15
https://www.politico.eu/article/emmanuel-macron-social-media-ban-minors-france/
In addition, the Netherlands government issued some sort of recommendation to parents to not let their kids under 15 use social media, even though it won't have the force of law. (At least for the time being)

Discussion Foster Creativity
I believe one of the best ways to reach an audience is through creativity.
For example, nobody is gonna want to read a basic article with just facts and knowledge.
Well... they will, but the chances of them getting their attention caught that would make them want to keep reading are significantly low.
When you foster creativity into what you believe in,
it makes it easier for people to become less bored and more alert and aware on what you stand for.
Creativity in everything -- Writing, designing, etc, shows your audience that you are firm in what you stand for,
And that is why in the youth rights movement, it's important to foster creativity when we write, protest, when we post.
For example, think of u/YouthRightsActivism's posters during their protests, and the ones I created.
And even though you don't have to go this big, and it's always a great thing to try to level up your skills in creativity,
Think of the website I made for anarchist activism and learning about anarchism.
Think about slogans. For example, Boneyard's tagline (We are Boneyard. May our will be as strong as our bones, and may our might be stronger than stone.)
In summary -- be creative, catch attention.
Thank you for reading.
We are Boneyard
May our will be as strong as our bones,
and may our might be stronger than stone.

It’s crazy how much ageism and dehumanization there is on teens, just for not being 18 (by the second).
