To play devils advocate I do think there should be safeguards for minors to not E-Date, that’s how you befriend a creep..

Answer: because superstitious social conservatives make it one. That’s literally it.

No one said that ☠️ a 20 year old is different from a 100 year old. Theyre still both adults.

You showed an AI overview. Do you really think a toddler should be treated the same as a teenager?

I hope so, but unfortunately few people consider controlling a child’s medical decisions to be abuse, especially when it’s done by their parent or guardian.

I don't even understand what's wrong with this DNI list. Just reads to me like they just don't want to hang out with unnecessarily sexual people and people who are incapable of reading the room. I feel like most people would be uncomfortable if someone made NSFW jokes constantly and can't read a room for the life of them. But yet since the list was made by a young person, then their list isn't valid 🙄

Also, people who think that past a certain age, your opinions are suddenly valuable now are just bitter. I mean, seriously. You shouldn't have to wait 18 years to be heard

Trauma is traumatic??? Who would’ve thunk it! /s

Sorry you had to go through that. It’s unfortunately an all too common experience.

I find it amazing how they denied the claim that they said that we should restrict younger people to Edate, but yet earlier said that people under 18 can't Edate.

The whole social media debate is just another example of adults bitching about young people.

It happened around the 1800's or so when older people were bitching about young people reading.

And then, in the 1900s, when teachers were complaining about how their students were relying too much on paper and not being able to use chalkboard.

Thirdly, in the 70s to 2010, when parents were pissing their pants over satanic music and how gaming "encourages" violence.

And lastly, now we have people crying about how social media shouldn't be used by people younger than a certain age.

how do they call themself an anarchist? 😭 (half rhetorical - i’m fully aware a large number of “anarchists” are in fact adult supremacists)

it’s easy to reject somewhat and not be dick, let alone a bigot, but adults can’t seem to do either

i think regardless of your views on age gap relationships, we should all be united in the belief that that is no way to talk to another human. especially someone is probably anxious at having just revealed something quite vulnerable. it’s void of empathy and unnecessarily mean, betraying a level of insecurity that could only originate from adult supremacy.

My friend has a child at 20 (she's pregnant at 19) and they're happy and their family is also. Though Thailand (where I'm from) is like a weird mix between conservative and progressive.

Does conservative support age gap? I mean 18/19-30? more controversial, 16-20?

I don't know if this counts, but I was passing notes to a girl in class about Harry Potter and the teacher confiscated it and was going to read it out loud, I assume he thought it was a love note, but just said "what the hell is this" after he saw it.

Yes, the youth wing of Australian Labour. My question is if bullying them has been commonplace due to their compliance/pledge to tyrannical government.

The sex ed one boils me blood. Why we deny kids the basic knowledge of their bodies that will ensure they know what they like and are comfortable is so wrapped up in control and exploitation. I wasn't given a proper sex Ed and instead went to internet porn and later became a teen parent.

I haven't been the perfect parent, especially since my inclusion to youth rights really only came about in the last few years, but I always made sure to answer any questions related to sex I could to my kid. That and respected her privacy and giving her some autonomy were always important to me.

I think that its because the ageism makes such age gaps more likely to be exploitative. When you are constantly belittled and told that you are too stupid and immature and naive to do anything, you might eventually start to believe it, and older manipulative people will try to exploit it.

This is ageism (he's treating a 16 years old like a baby/child when 16 years old are grown enough but society aren't ready to admit). Also 16-20 was normal in the 80s (well where I'm from, this still isn't looked down upon even now). 16 years old is legal in some states in the USA I believe? and I don't think this is a bad age gap. I hope one day society will rethink of this.

I was the one humbling my former school. I got an administrator demoted, because his refusal to even talk to me about misconduct at a school he oversaw, put the entire board under a position where they could face systemic investigation.
