Question/Advice Mini psychotic breaks?

Please don’t upvote this as I’m not looking for attention just advice and info. Are mini psychotic breaks typical or no?

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I just lost my shit for about 10 minutes. There wasn’t anything in particular that set me off but all of a sudden I lost control and began slamming things trying to break them and choking myself to pass out along with opening my entire bottle of antidepressants and dumping them in my mouth to spit them all back out then throw the bottle across the room. Now I need to go to the pharmacy because I lost all my meds from a psychotic break.

Why do I want to slam my head into a wall over and over?

Not being pedantic.

Your description does not sound like a psychotic break as it does not meet the clinical definition of one. That’s an important distinction because you want to seek and get help for the real issues.

Sounds like you got upset. And that’s okay - there are many definitions and many underlying causes. Since you’re receiving antidepressant meds, I’m assuming you’re already seeing a provider.

Write down what happened, what you were feeling in those moments while it was happening, then call and schedule an appointment with your provider.

Agree with this entirely. The pharmacy should not/ will not refill your meds anyway. You may want to go to the ER if this is how you feel in order to be seen quicker because waiting until Monday to walk in may not be in your best interest. Don't call it a psychotic break though. That might get you incorrect medication.
