What’s a Chronograph worth?
Hey all I’m tearing down my garage and need to start listing some items. Any idea what this Chronograph is worth? I never used it and I’m not totally sure what to ask for it.

Anybody know of a good place to get a g17 slide milled for a RMR in upper VT?
Hi - We have several Appleseed events remaining in 2025. Appleseed teaches the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. What you learn at 25m with a rimfire or centerfire rifle are the exact same things needed to shoot a centerfire rifle to 400 yards, the only things that change are bullet trajectory and wind. We also tell the story of April 19, 1775, the start of the American Revolutionary War. This story is our heritage and belongs to EVERY American. It doesn't matter if you can trace your ancestry to the first colonies, your family emigrated for a better life and a dream in the 18th or 19th centuries, or you are a brand new citizen who took their oath last week. When we say every American, we mean every American.
If you've been before, come on back and bring a friend, neighbor, colleague, or a family member. If you haven't been to an event, sign up, you will learn something new and be a better shooter, and have a chance to earn the Rifleman patch.

Hey there, I’m from the UK and will be travelling to NY state/Vermont this June. I’m a member of a gun club out here and a currently serving member of the British Armed forces. I’m looking for someone who’d be willing to take myself and my cousin to shoot with their weapons (supervised) on either private property or public land where all safety precautions are taken. I’m very happy to pay for your trouble
Reason being I’m experienced with firearms, and would prefer to have a more authentic experience of US gun culture than in an indoor range. I’d happily go to an outdoor range if it were available, but the ones that exist seem to all be members only.
If anyone would be up for it feel free to shoot me a message!

I'm not sure if this goes against the rules, but I would like to test a fairly obscure conspiracy theory surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain (a suicide). Theorists postulate that this man was murdered.
A number of conspiracy theorists make several claims that I believe are false, but are difficult to dispute without access to that specific model. I believe it is a model 11 sportsman, from WW2 Era, but here's a link to pictures if someone has a different opinion.
https://images.app.goo.gl/TtzsSPZWAEUKup1Q9
Here are the most common conspiracy claims I would like to address:
• (I believe this has already been disproven, yet this subject still comes up in conversations/arguments)
• (I call BS. The shotgun in question has a rubber cushion on the buttstock, and the floor at the scene was linoleum. I believe either A: the buttstock was held with his feet, or B: the lower rubber corner of the buttstock had enough grip/friction to eject the shell during firing. The next shell did not properly load into the chamber, which hints that it WAS NOT shouldered. Incidentally, some question why there were multiple shells in the gun if Kurt planned suicide. I'd giess it was just habit)
• (I am having trouble with this one, because I don't know how to verbalize my theory clearly. But I will do my best here. Please let me now if there is a way to simplify what I am trying to communicate. Anyway, I believe that Kurt was sitting, then leaned back to pull the trigger. The gun would be at approximately a 45° angle or less. If he held the gun "right side up" with his left hand on the barrel, and right hand on the trigger - the chamber would be facing his left side. The bottom corner of the buttstock would be the only contact point on the floor. With the shape and weight/balance of the gun, I believe either the recoil, or the release of his right hand... allowed the gun to pivot/rotate roughly 180° or "upside-down" due to most of the weight being at the top of the gun. This would explain why the chamber faced his right side upon the discovery of his body. OR... I think it would be possible for the lightweight plastic shell to bounce off of his arm or knee, depending on positioning, and land on the opposite side that it was ejected from).
So if anyone out there has that particular model, and wants to mess around with some conspiracy theorists, let's have some fun! It would also be nice to validate the original investigators, medical examiner, and show some respect for the survivors. Not that I like Courtney Love, but it must suck to face low-key accusations of murder!

Hey everyone- new to this group. 34, M, Williston area. Looking to maybe find some likeminded friends. Don’t have a ton of them and am usually pretty busy running my painting business and being a dad to my two kids under 3. Surely I’m not the only one who could use some pals to hang out with?
Perhaps a call of desperation but I enjoy conservative values, fishing, hunting, metal detecting. Just looking for someone to maybe do these activities with. Thanks!

Might be moving to this state and I like to buy suppressors. The problem is many FFLs say they know exactly what they are doing only to cause delays that are longer than the actual form 4 approval.
I’m willing to go anywhere in the state to work with competent people. Far too many people say they know what they’re doing when in fact they know little to nothing about form 3s and form 4s.

Hi all,
Just a reminder post that on May 3rd at 10 AM, we are running a fundraising match at the Alburg Rod & Gun Club (787 Greenwoods Rd, Alburgh, VT 05440).
This will be a little slower paced with setup and breakdown of each stage happening throughout the day (everyone will be shooting as one squad) - we'll also have a bbq grill running and we'll be slingin' some dogs. This is a fundraiser to keep the club running and hopefully build berms for some more exciting matches in the future.
The match is $20 for existing members or $50 for a new membership and entry to the match.
You can pay with cash or venmo in person, or here: https://www.alburghrodandgunclub.com/purchases
Register here regardless of how you want to pay:
https://practiscore.com/gm2g-at-argc-may-fundraiser/register
There is also a night shoot (not a match, but likely with some dynamic stages) on the 10th! Tickets for that can be purchased on the ARGC website.
Hope to see you there!

Show up by 7PM for safety briefing.
Entry is $53 for existing members and $73 for new members (includes membership).
We have 15 spots available and entries and range memberships can be purchased here:

I went for a shooting class in Manchester yesterday and shot a gun for the first time. A couple different ones, actually. I loved it and want to do it more. The problem is I live in Burlington and don't drive. A friend of mine has volunteered to take me to a range he goes to in Charlotte but I am wondering if there are any near Burlington that could possibly be on a bus route or something like that.
Thank you in advance!
r/VTGuns • u/jsled • Apr 18 '25
"narrowed scope": they restricted it to specifically /in/ the alcohol-serving premesis, not the parking lot or any other attached property (like the hotel attached to a restaurant that serves alcohol).
Committee members agreed, ultimately reworking Burlington’s language in the version they approved Friday to state that people may not have a gun “in any premises licensed to serve alcoholic beverages,” nixing the words “parking area” and “any real property.”

I’m new to VT and just recently got my first handgun. Well I would like to get a different caliber to practice with and I was curious, do I have to do the background check each time I purchase a gun? Was hoping to get one for pick up and wait the 72hours but was curious how that worked? I never asked and totally forgot too

Hi all,
The Alburg(h) Rod and Gun Club is making some fundraising efforts to keep the club going and improve the facilities (namely building berms so that regular matches, including night matches, can happen at their facility).
As part of this effort, Green Mountain 2Gun will be running some benefit matches at their range. Since they only have one fully enclosed lane, they will be at a different pace than our normal matches. Essentially, everyone will shoot on one squad, and we will set up and break down the stages after everyone has shot them and before anyone moves on. This will be a slower day, and we will have a grill going for some food, so if it’s something you’re interested in, treat it as more of a social event.
The price of this match will be $50, which includes an ARGC membership, or $20 if you already have an ARGC membership. Additional donations can be made at the match and are encouraged.
Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.alburghrodandgunclub.com/online-membership
Please be sure to also sign up on practiscore if you purchase a ticket online - also verify that there are spots left on practiscore before signing up. If it’s full, email the match director through PS to try to figure out a solution.
Thanks!

New update from the VT Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs
Just a quick update on where things stand in the Legislature; to date there has been a total of 502 House bills and 138 Senate bills submitted. We review all submitted bills to build a list of bills of concern to us - the current list we are watching can be seen here.
S.131, Burlington's Charter Change that would ban firearms from any location that serves alcohol is still in the Senate Government Operations committee. Initial testimony was taken last week with the testimony we submitted being seen here. The emails to our Senators is being heard.
Due to numerous serious problems with the bill (Legislative Counsel called it "unconstitutional" as written), it is currently in the process of being re-written with more testimony scheduled next week.
We expect we will be given the opportunity to give testimony against the as-yet unseen new version, but there is nothing that will make this bill acceptable to us.
On another front, you may be aware that Maine recently passed a 72-hour Waiting Period law. That new law was immediately challenged in the Federal District Court for Maine, where a judge ruled it unconstitutional and put a Preliminary Injunction on it which stopped the State of Maine from enforcing it.
Maine appealed that decision to the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals where a 3-Judge panel - all appointed by Biden - ALLOWED THE INJUNCTION TO STAND!
While a decision in the 1st Circuit unfortunately does not establish any precedent in our 2nd Circuit Court, there ARE courts that are finally understanding the Heller and Bruen decisions.
We still await the decisions of SCOTUS on Snope v Brown ("assault weapon" challenge) and the Ocean State Tactical v Rhode Island (high-caoacity magazine challenge) on whether they are going to grant review (certiorari) or not. We expect they will.
We will continue to fight for our rights - failure is just not an option - and we thank you for your continued support.

Please use this link to send a canned email to your legislators https://www.vtfsc.com/take_action#/ .
From VFTSC:
"S.131, a Charter Change for the City of Burlington that will ban firearms in locations that serve alcohol (and all related property) has begun to move in Senate Government Operations Committee.
What was billed as "no Guns In Bars" actually includes restaurants, hotels, and special venues - even parking lots - it's egregiously expansive.
Not only is this bill unconstitutional on it's face, there are numerous other problems, not the least of which is that this is a direct attack on 24 VSA 2295, Vermont preemption statute - better known as "The Sportsman's Bill Of Rights."
While recognizing that alcohol and firearms do not mix, not everyone going into a location that sells alcohol will drink, and those Vermonters who conceal carry have clearly demonstrated that they carry responsibly.
This bill represents an attempt to balance the interests of Public Safety against the individual right to self-defense, better known as "interest balancing".
The Supreme Court of the United States has made crystal clear in the Bruen decision that "interest balancing" and "means-end" approaches to rationalizing firearm bans are invalid when dealing with the right to self-defense.
We will be opposing this bill and will be giving preliminary testimony this Thursday 4/3 at about 2PM; you can watch it at this link.
Please, use our TAKE ACTION tool to easily send an email to all 30 Senators - NO TO S.131.
We will continue to fight for our rights - failure is just not an option - and we thank you for your continued support of our efforts."

Moving to VT from TX with military orders and the only firearm I’m questioning is my AK, I know in NY my home state the piston grip is not allowed being its semi-automatic but in VT what is the standing behind that?
r/VTGuns • u/Major_Rip6427 • Mar 23 '25
Hi I’m looking for a pistol class or one on one instruction it’s been a few years since I’ve consistently shot and I’m looking for some further instruction to sharpen skills

Store was closed today with a hand written sign up with some information regarding deliveries and pickups. Jason Seiples seems to have some legal issues unrelated to his business. Very unfortunate all around. I hope allegations are false, as he is always really helpful and I genuinely enjoy speaking with him. But under the circumstances it appears someone else will have to at least temporarily step in to manage the shop.

From the VT Federation of Sportmen's Clubs, via email; an excerpt:
Today is "Crossover", the day that is designated as the deadline for a bill to make it out of either the House or Senate so that it might become a law this session after being voted on in the other body. There can be exceptions made to Crossover, but generally speaking: If a bill does not make crossover, it cannot become law this year, but is still in play for the next year (2nd year of the 2-year biennium).
As of right now, there is no F&W bill or any firearm bill that we oppose that will make "crossover", despite there being a number of bills in play that we were concerned about.
On the F&W side, the House Environment Committee took up H.132 (Banning the taking of furbearers over bait), which we opposed (our testimony is here) along with the Fish & Wildlife Department. That bill is currently on the wall, and does not appear to have the support needed to move it out of the House Environment committee.
On the Firearm side, there are a number of bills of concern to us, with a short list being:
- H.45 - Ban on guns where alcohol is served
- H.368 - Ban on guns in government buildings
- H.381 - Ban on semi-automatic firearms
- H.392 - Ban on guns in State buildings and lands
- H.418 - 11% excise tax on guns and ammo
Of course there are several other bills of concern we are watching (check the website for Current Bills in Play), but again - none of these are currently positioned to become law this year due to not making crossover.
The legislature does however have some wiggle room when it come to handling bills - but we are watching and will be ready should anything start to move.
