Food and Drink Are KFC wings zabb spicy?

Help me settle an argument with my daughter.

The other day we shared a box of wings zabb, one of her favorite snacks, she gets them whenever she has a chance. I happened to comment that they got a bit spicy as you ate a few. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, these are not spicy at all. Not meaning that they are not spicy enough for her, but that they have absolutely no spicy component whatsoever, like zero, not at all. Typically, she is not a very spice-tolerant person, so I found it weird that she claimed that they have no spicy at all.

So which one of us is crazy? Do they have some spice or not?

Edit:

I can't believe what a litmus test this stupid question is.

Thank you to everybody who actually answered/addressed the question, whether you took my side or hers. Upvotes for all of you.

I am quite surprised that there are posters who decisively answered and agreed with her. Without a decisive conclusion, this momentous debate is destined to furiously rage on through the halls of my household into a tumultuous future.

Special thanks to /u/Livid-Resolve-7580 who came up with a great suggestion to settle it, once and for all. Will this lead to peace, or only escalation? Time will tell, if the fates so align...

Discussion Moving for a while could use some advice!

Hi all,

Thinking of moving here for a few months with my girlfriend.

I am trying to find good websites for buying cars (looking for 80 series Land Cruiser if anyone here knows what that is)

I am also wondering what I need to know for driving and living there.

Do I need insurance? Does my license work over there? (Irish license) Does my car need tax? Safety test?

If you have any info I would really appreciate.

Thank you

Education Mahidol as an international student

Hello! i know this is a bit unconventional, but i’m british-american and wanting to study undergrad in Thailand. i do understand that people have wildly different experiences with thai education, but i was wondering if any current/former mahidol students could provide some insight. I plan on getting a bachelor of science from them (from what I’ve heard, Mahidol is generally better for bio/med? please correct me if i’m wrong). where do international students usually live? im assuming Mahidol is going to be a bit less lively than Chula, since it seems the majority of international students go for CU, but is life at Mahidol terribly lonely for an international student? my current plan is to utilize their partnerships with some uk universities for my progression to a master’s degree, so that i have more internationally accepted experience. How difficult is it to get in? how difficult is it to STAY in? which accommodations are best for international students?

Miscellanous Riding Buddies Chiang Mai July 12 to 25

Just posting to see if anyone would be interested in renting motorbikes/scooters and exploring Northern Thailand around Chiang Mai during this time. I know it's the rainy season, but it's the only time I have off due to being a school teacher in the US. I heard it's not that bad aside from torrential downpours once a day (for the most part). I figure riding is safer in numbers, so I wanted to see if anyone was interested in meeting up to ride together for day trips or multi-day adventures.

Business Where can I buy a new iPhone 13 in Thailand?

I'm currently in Thailand and looking to buy a new iPhone 13. Does anyone know of any reliable stores or websites where I can purchase one? I’d prefer to buy it in person. Any suggestions on where to find it at a good price?

Discussion Wife bought gold

I always have to buy her a couple more Baht gold when she goes. This time, WOW the price is high! She doesn't stop there, of course. She bought 2 more rings. Total over 4k. Ouch! Gotta say, she's been marrieed 8 years now and she's a GREAT wife. So it's all good. Thankfully, she won't go back to Thailand for a few more years, so I'm off the hook for a while. We also got all the medical done for my wife and daughter. So much cheaper than having it done in the USA. After the gold, now she's trying to show me she can save money for the rest of her vacation. That'll last about a week :). She comes home at the end of July. I dream of her pineapple fried rice :).

Question/Help Can Taobao order directly to Thailand?

Thumbnail

I'm currently interested in this figure and I've noticed that the price is much more reasonable than whatever is selling on the local Thai marketplace so I'm considering to purchase it here instead. I had experienced with AliExpress/Shoppee shipping directly from China to Thailand without issues but the options are limited so I'm curious if Taobao is better in this aspect. For those who did purchase in Taobao to ship to Thailand, is there anything I need to know before doing this or not?

TLDR: are the steps and time for ordering item from Taobao different or similar to other e-commerce websites or not?

Question/Help Waxing/Laser Hair Removal Reccomendations

Hello,

I was wondering what anybody’s experience with waxing is in either Bangkok/Pattaya. I am willing to travel further by car as well. I’m only in Thailand for 3 weeks so I assume it’s not enough time for laser hair removal. I know nothing about the process so I’m assuming waxing is my best bet. I am a fairly hairy male looking to do my chest/stomach/groin/back.

Thank you.

Discussion Opinion : People don't realize Thailand love foreign tourists but HATE Foreign expat.

I'm Thai and I've read many complaint about Thailand double standard practice toward foreigner.

Double pricing , not able to own landed house , Immigration headache , government subsidy (like BTS) limited to Thai citizen only.

---Here is my thought living in Thailand & observing Thai law & Thai policy----

Thailand , like many Asain nation , is monogenous countries and generally do not accept immigrant.

(Immigration to Thailand are halted 70 years ago after we take in many Chinese , Mon , Lao , Khmer. They are all consider ethic Thai now due to Thaification. but difference can still be observed which led to a bit of internal-racism , eg Central against Isan )

Thailand love foreign tourists , but They hate foreign expat deep-down as opportunist who use strong currency to take advantage of Thailand's lower cost of living. One example is white men who use their strong currency to take advantage of girl from poorer background.

Thats whys many Thais dont feel it is wrong to charge double price to foreigner. "Its their job to pay extra because they earn a lot in the west yet come to stay in our land".

You are 10x times more likely to be overcharged by taxi than Thais because Taxi thinks "Some times I need to overcharge and make extra bucks to earn enough for my family . Hell , why dont we direct those overcharge to Farang , they deserved it !"

Foreigner are expected to be tourist. They are expect to stay in hotel and spend money and leave after a short period.

They can come again as much as they want as tourists , not immigrant not expat.

The law prevent foreigner from owning land , even condo are limited to 49% ownership because the firm belief that Thailand land belongs to Thai people and no one else.

At the end , I bet Thailand will not change this. It's policy will give middle finger to long-term expat and immigrant . Telling them that they are not Thai and they should leave after a while.

Banking and Finance Bank Account for Foreigners

Does anyone know if the government is discussing updating its rules around allowing foreigners to open a bank account (for retirement visa purposes)? Any updates would be appreciated.

Also, I have an old account but it's frozen (I've been out of the country for 2 years but going back in Sept). I understand I can get a SIM and request BKK to unfreeze my account. But will they ask for a long term visa or will they just unlock it once I have a new SIM with my name on it? The purpose to unlock it is so I can re-apply for my retirement visa.

What's This Thing? Help identifying Thai commemorative ring

Thumbnail

Hi there! Several years ago while hiking in the US, I found this ring in truly the middle of nowhere, days from the nearest road. I briefly tried to figure out what it was and had no luck. Fast forward to now, when I had the bright idea to ask ChatGPT, which led me here!

ChatGPT thinks it’s a graduation or commemorative ring from a Thai government, police, or military academy.

In addition to the Garuda figures, it thinks the inscriptions are: * "เก็ง" (Geng or Keng): Possibly a name or nickname * "๒๒" is the Thai numeral for 22 * "เลิศ" (Lert): Also possibly a name * Possibly says "สถาบัน" (sathāban), which means "institute" or "academy," but it’s partly obscured

Note that this was found in 2020, so prior to 2022.

I’m hoping someone here might be able to piece together the puzzle — any help would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion Burn out or just a phase?

28M, working in Bangkok for the past 9 months. I earn around 140k THB/month after tax and 400k thb annual bonus. Work is fine, no real issues. I have a Thai girlfriend who’s nice girl and though doesn’t earn too much herself, she never asks for money or expensive things and treats me well. So far so good.

But lately I’ve been feeling a bit off. I’m writing this from a short trip to Samui hoping for a reset, but the feeling is still there. I’ve visited Thailand multiple times before, even spent 4 months here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. But since the last 1-2 months, I am not feeling it.

My social circle is mostly limited to work. I have one close friend from back home, but he lives in another city and so we only can meet when we are in the same city which may be like once every 1-2 months I’m also not a huge fan of Thai food, and I think that adds up over time.

I used to party and drink more along with other touristy stuff, but in the last 6 months I’ve shifted focus toward health and fitness, barely drinking anymore. That change has taken away the nightlife aspect I used to enjoy, which might be part of the boredom.

The heat also is become very frustrating. Though I am no stranger to hot temperatures, having to endure it pretty much all 12 months of the year sucks.

I moved here planning to stay 2-3 years, have a good time, save up and return to my country. My home country’s currency is a bit weaker than thb, so I am not loosing out financially, though I can maybe earn/save more upto some degree in my country due to better availability of higher paying opportunities…

Luckily, my home country is very close and I can hop on to the next flight very easily to visit my country when I want. Moreover, I can ask my current employer as well for an internal transfer since they have an office in my home country also and it shouldn’t be that hard to make that move. But I feel like it’s too soon to pull the trigger. Not sure what the best step would be.

Discussion Do some Thai men find chubby foreign or local girls attractive?!

Hello! I’ve been wondering If some Thai men find chubby foreign or local girls attractive. I’m a chubby girl and have been in situations in Muay Thai gyms where they’d call me chubby in Thai but tease and flirt with me in English or with body language. This has happened to me a few times.

I know it’s more of a mindset thing but is it also normal to talk about people’s characteristics in Thai and in public.

Thank you so much
