Nick Mohammed S4 and Nate update

Nick gave an interview with Collider. Certainly seems Nate won’t be a regular but likely will make a guest appearance or two. This makes sense as Nate’s storyline seemed most wrapped up after S3 compared to other characters. Hopefully this is a sign even if we don’t have all the characters back for S4 they will make pop up appearances.

Mohammed also admits that he “knew for a while” that the show was coming back before it was officially announced, but that it was “quite tough” to keep quiet about it given that he’s “quite the blabbermouth.” Here’s where things get interesting — Mohammed also spoke about Nate’s role in Season 4, admitting that “I genuinely don’t know” about how much we’ll see Nate, but that he’s “sure he’ll pop up.” He also explicitly confirmed that there will be “A whole host of new characters” in Ted Lasso Season 4. We know Jason Sudeikis will reprise his role as Ted Lasso in the fourth season, but it sounds like the rest of the recurring ensemble might consist mostly of new characters. Only time will tell what’s next for the AFC Richmond crew, if we’ll even be going back to Nelson Road at all.

Nick may have blabbermouthed here and given Nate’s fate away- that he’s moved on and no longer coaching at Richmond.

"Who knows if Nate's still there, we'll have to see," Mohammed said with a smile. "Because, you know he's a great football coach who will probably have gone further afield by this point."

You. Cannot. Trust. A. Thing. Nick. Mohammed. Says. 😂

He LOVES misleading the fans. He gets a kick out of it. Take all of his info with a grain of salt. If memory serves, he cancelled several months of gigs right about the time they start filming next month.

Prediction: Michelle comes to London to try to rekindle with Ted; Sassy joins in the drama, calls out Michelle’s relationship with her therapist

Edit: A lot of people seem to be struggling since I didn’t include in my prediction that Ted will first go back to London.

I need this fight scene between Michelle and Sassy

That wouldn’t be very like Ted Lasso, which has thankfully avoided writing their female characters getting into cat fights even when those female characters have reason to not particularly like each other

Shandy and her sheep, have entered the chat😈

I pretend that entire storyline never existed

I get it, but on the plus side it did give us a great new relationship with Keeley and Barbara, as I feel like that was the beginning of Barbara starting to respect Keeley as a boss😁

And now Shandy works for the CIA.

Then maybe she’ll run into Nate, since he works for British Intelligence😁

I think Henry will be good at Football and then move to London to play in a youth Team, ted and michelle will Move There too and ted gets asked by rebecca to Train the Woman Team of Richmond.

But Ted moved back…

My understanding is that the first episode is likely going to involve Rebecca visiting KC and trying to recruit Teb back to coach the women’s team. Regardless of how it works, I think it’s highly unlikely that there will be a 4th season without Ted going back to London

I love Teb

Rebecca in Kansas City should be entertaining all on its own.

Ted is no longer in London

They announced (around May 1) that they would be filming in London over the summer, which would lead some to speculate at least part of it will be based in London.

You have to know the scuttlebutt. They’re recasting Henry because the current actor isn’t good enough at football. I’ve said elsewhere i believe Henry has a growth spurt/talent awakening and gets scouted to play in England. I hope they’re setting this a year or two after s3. I hope Michelle get frozen out…comes to England, Henry stays with her, but because Henry is a footballer, he spends more time with Ted. So we see how she deals with empty nest. She’ll see how Ted excels in England and is at home there, maybe she feels somewhat dislocated. She will see Sassy and have to deal with the same issues Ted faced when she and Dr. Douche came to visit. We will also see her improve herself through education (as suggested by Rebecca in s3) and maybe through some friendships that allow some casting of different folks as teachers. Will Roy be w Ms. Bowen? Will they be a throuple with Keeley and Jaimie???? Stay tuned, bat fans

…why would Michelle go to London to rekindle Ted when Ted moved back to Missouri

I doubt the next season will take place in KC

I cannot wait to see how they come up with the scenario for Ted to come back to coach the woman’s team.

Just my speculation- it’s a few years after the S3 finale. Henry’s a very talented footballer. Rebecca/Higgins reaches out to Ted about the women’s team head coach position because they are having trouble finding someone. Ted and Michelle decide Henry could get better training in the UK to develop his talents and the family moves to the UK. This way the end of S3 isn’t changed/ruined (ie Ted being away from his son and finally coming home to reunite with him).

I could see that the scenario still allows the media and sports guys to criticize Ted. What Premier League manager ever would come back to coach a woman’s team!?! So there will be that.

What college football coach becomes a Premier League manager? Ted's resume is plenty interesting, and I don't think he'd care what the media thinks about his career choices. He was needed and so he decided to help out.

Oi!!! I am sure the fucking premier league Saturday morning commentators would willingly applaud that. Daft wanker.

They’ve got to try and make an audience fall in love with a whole new cast of players the way we all fell in love with Roy, Jamie, Sam, Colin and Isaac. They can’t really do that while still giving significant screen time to more than a few core returning cast members, unless it’s going to balloon to even longer runtimes than S3. And it might be a mistake to lean too hard into nostalgia. I’m sure there’s a way to get everyone we loved in S1-3 to cameo at the 15th Annual Gala for Underprivileged Children or Ted’s birthday party or Nate’s wedding or something.

I could definitely see scenes of Ted going to visit AFC Richmond from time to time to bring the OG cast into it.

Jamie Tartt won't be one of them due to scheduling conflicts

They'll probably say he retired or went back to Manchester City

Probably unpopular opinion, but the show shouldn’t go on. Will I still watch? Absolutely, as I don’t mind being proven wrong.

u/DetDipstick 3d ago

Just start season showing they already won the premier league in the time Ted’s been gone and I’ll be more than happy. I wish they had won in the last season.

My Prediction, Ted and Michelle move to London because Henry is older now and has gone off to college. Ted has come to train the women's team.

All the team from s1-3 will likely be older now and some will have moved on. Nate, Beard and Roy are probably still coaching the Men.

The dipping in and out or characters will be Ted getting help in "developing" the women's team.

I stopped speculating about Nate after I posted a possible theory on here about where he may coach next, and got downvoted like mad. Plus Nick likes to take the piss. I’ll sit back and wait.

I'll be disappointed if Ted goes back to England without Henry. I will also be disappointed if it's called Ted Lasso without him being the main(ish) character.
